We had 3 smaller dogs and had to integrate two adult American Bully's into our pack from my daughter in law. She told us they were aggressive with other dogs so we hired Mark to help us. The 2 Bully's are doing great with their training and Mark helped guide us into integrating them with the other dogs. We are 3 months in at this point and have a very happy pack of 5. The Bully's are still learning new commands (I am also learning new things about dogs) and I can't wait till it cools off outside so I can start taking them for walks at the park. The consultation was free and he came to our house on short notice. He spent time with us first talking about what our concerns are with the dogs and what we would like to achieve. He then had us bring the dogs individually so he could evaluate them. We chose to board the dogs (Adventure Pet Resort, also amazing) for two weeks and he was able to go in at night and work with them there. I met with Mr.Gibson on Friday. He sat in his car for 10 minutes. When he evalauated my dog he said Romeo was not trainable. Mr. Gibson trained two of my dogs a few years back. Doesn't even remember then complained how difficult one was. First off all dogs are trainable. just because i do not agree with a choke chain method or kenneling my dog. The right trainer with the right dog helps. i have found someone who understands this trainer needs to understand this and change his attiude. read more

(This is a question and not a review. Yelp says my question is too long and to post it as a review) We have a 8 month pit bull (named Ba Ba Blue) and a 10 year old cocker spaniel (Bentley). A friend asked us to dog sit him for a week during the Christmas holiday and never returned, changed their number and deleted me from Facebook. We had no intentions on raising another dog because I'm allergic to dogs but I'm used to Bentley. Baba is hyper and extremely active. Bentley sleeps all day but Bentley does not listen when company comes over. Bentley understands all commands but when people come to visit he always gets extremely excited and jumps on them. Baba Blue is hyper and doesn't listen unless my husband uses his firm manly voice. We even considered rehoming Baba because he's so hyper he scares the kids. What should we do? ITS REALLY ZERO STARS Marc came to my house for the evaluation. He was late. Upon arrival he seemed afraid of my dogs (none of whom have a viscous bone in their body) and asked me if we could talk AWAY FROM THE DOGS! He was unable/unwilling to even be near the dogs. His suggestions were choke collar and crate. THATS NOT TRAINING. He then told me I would have to consider kennel/boarding training. I again told him that was not an option I was considering. He then became even ruder and told me I was argumentative. THIS GUY IS A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE AND MY DOGS SENSED THAT TOO. BEWARE.!! read more

Mark is the absolute BEST dog trainer, PERIOD!!! We started using Mark 10 years ago with one of our alpha male cairn terriers, who is now the best, most obedient dog ever! That being said, we recently acquired another little yorkie, who is also an alpha male maniac and I was upset that I couldn't find his contact info initially and went with a different dog training company, which turned out to be a complete rip off!!!!!! As well as ineffective. I searched and searched until I finally came upon Mark's contact again!!! Boy, am I glad I found him still in business! He knows his business! In only a few short sessions, my Squiggy has learned to be much better behaved and learned all the basic commands, like sit, stay, come, down. Mark is absolutely hands down the best Dog Trainer in Las Vegas- He should have the name "Dog Whisperer" Our precious Aussie Doodle Puppy Buster is 6 Months Old and we love him but what a handful! We opted for Mark's Boot Camp Package and go all in on our investment and well worth it!! Buster our doggie was boarded at Adventure Pet Resort who is excellent too and I will be reviewing too - Buster was there a month and is a new well behaved doggie coming home- mind you we still have practice once a week with Buster and Mark our Trainer from Gibson K9 but the fact Mark takes his time to teach us all the proper commands and also how to properly discipline. I consider myself an experienced dog owner( newfy, bulldogs, pitbulls, rottie, labs, bullmastiff). I took in an abondoned 2 yr old Belgian Malinois 9 mos ago. I named him Jack, had him neutered and chipped, gave him a calm home environment with plenty of exercise and attention, even 6 weeks of "obedience class". He was still aggressive toward other dogs and certain people, not responding to my corrections, excessive barking while I was away from home, and the conditions were escalating. At a loss for what to do, I called Mark and signed up for 2 weeks boarding training. A couple of months have passed and we are getting our(my) home lessons. Mark is extremely experienced, talented and earned my trust at our first meeting with Jack. Bottom line: controlled barking, listens to commands, calmer, obedient on leash in public, stopped jumping at outside wall, his buddy is my 10 pound chihuahua and we are all happier! I was not sure if I could keep "Jack" until Mark helped us. Now Jack has become a great home dog as well as our protector. We got another dog from a shelter about three months ago. He was 2 years old and didn't know any commands and showed some aggressive tendencies. We decided to do in home training and have been using Marc, Gibson's Canine, since then. Our dog has done a complete 180. He knows all the commands (sit, stay, down, etc) and can be around other dogs now on a leash with no aggressive behavior. I like Marc's training methods because he uses treats and positive re-enforcement to train the dog. He does a thorough job of training not only the dog but the owners as well. Mark Gibson is the very best! I probably have the only dominate, alpha male golden doodle in Las Vegas, well maybe not. I had another trainer early on when Berkeley was about 5 or 6 months old and he did teach him the basics. But, I never had Berkeley firmly in control. He was jumping on counters, not coming to me, grabbing things and running with them, and chewing things up, just to name a few problems. But the problem that got me scarred was he started attacking my other smaller dog Jack a schnauzer (who assumed he was lead dog) competing for the alpha dog position. I was really afraid he would seriously hurt Jack so I called Mark when Berkeley was 11 months old. Berkeley is a new dog and there has been no attacks on Jack, the schnauzer, in months! Berkeley minds, he drops or leaves things when commanded, doesn't jump on the counters or people, (well most of the time anyway), and pretty much comes on command. We have been working with mark over the past several months to train our shiba inu puppy, which anybody who is familiar with this breed knows that this breed is a very stubborn and independent dog. Mark is very patient and consistent and within the training time frame, our crazy, little pup is now following the basic commands of: sit, stay, heal and lay down. He also comes in from outside on the "come" command instead of us tying to chase him down. His over-all demeanor is more respectful. We also liked mark because he is willing to meet with you and your fur-baby to ensure a possible good/appropriate relationship before requiring sign up. We have 4 dogs, two of which are Pit Bulls with abosolutely no manners. Our year old girl and year and half old boy spent two weeks with Mark for obedience training. Wow! I own 2 AKC Retired Greyhound Show Dogs I saw a brochure of his and gave him a call. I arranged to have him meet my greyhounds in my home. I wanted to learn how to walk to greyhounds without doing damage to my back, since I had surgery in November. First of all greyhounds are very delicate dogs. They have no body fat and their skin is very thin. They wear Martindale Collars. Mr Gibson did not know what a Martindale Collar was, coming from a man who claimed he had trained 20 greyhounds this was a huge RED FLAG . Second he was gung ho on Choke Chains. Second of all you NEVER put a choke chain on a greyhound Both County and City Animal Control will tell you that as will any vet who treats greyhounds. He wanted to push BOOT CAMP and have him board the dogs some place else for an over inflated price. IF YOU OWN GREYHOUNDS DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN WITH YOUR DOG. AMAZING!!! I have 2 dogs,we were ready to get them new homes due to I had daycare and they were so unruly to let near my daycare kids. We wanted family dogs who could live with us and be our furbabies. I had hired a trainer before I wont mention names but no luck he did nothing. We finally decided to hire a trainer 1 more time and if it didn't work we couldn't keep them because you cant keep them on a dog run all day in the summer or winter. We have two pups, a yorkie/poodle mix and a yorkie/bichon mix. We've had problems with the yorkie/poo going after his "brother" when he has anxiety, when he's jealous, and over food. It escalated to the point we knew we needed help. Mark has been a godsend! He is an expert with dogs and our pups loved him immediately. His system of teaching is superb and extremely effective.
