Do not question whether you should use this company... instead FIND A REASON to use them. Move houses just to have them come and help! I jest, however, don't hesitate. They are great.

And we did have a bit of a hiccup because we had to offload at two different stops. The last stop had a very teeny elevator, and a ridiculously dumb access point, but that was the apartment buildings rules, though... We had to comply. It was kind of a nightmare. These guys were so good, that I hired them three days later to move new furniture from a different condo into this one. Once again, they were punctual and fun to work with and most importantly... In both of these moves, nothing was damaged! Nothing. And they were expert at disassembling and assembling a very large bed frame. They had to get really creative, moving it out of this condo and then into the new one. They got it done. I highly recommend. 10 out of 10. Would repeat.

I'm very impressed with their professionalism, thoroughness and personability. I would recommend them to anyone getting ready to do a move of any kind. Me and my husband contacted Flat Rate Moving a couple of weeks ago because we had a big move coming up and were looking for trustworthy, reliable local movers. What really sold me was the flat rate for moving. Other companies charge by the hour and it was really up in the air about how much we would owe at the end of the day with that. We also have a lot of fragile items and collectibles, so I was particularly wary of just anyone coming and moving our stuff, plus we had already sold our house and did not want to damage the doorways or anything for the new owner. I had called a couple of other places and I wasn't really convinced, but I remembered that we saw this flyer for flat rate movers and I wanted to at least call and get a quote because they were local too. When I called them up, I immediately I noticed that Randy was friendly and seemed to really care about taking care of his customers and was passionate about his work. One of the things I really appreciated is that he took the time to come to our home and meet us himself, and that he was present and available every step of the way, from the initial contact, to the quote, to the final estimate, to the move and beyond. The whole process was super easy and Randy made sure he was open and available for us in case we needed to talk or ask any questions about the process or the quote or anything. For the quote, he met us on site and I was able to walk him through my house, showing him what we wanted him to move, and he took inventory so he could give accurate pricing. The next day, we got our quote, which as the name suggests, is a flat rate, so no surprise charges or fees at the end of the day, no guessing about how much it would end up being, you know right off the bat and Randy will stick to that price. On moving day, he made sure to call me and notify me they were on the way. They came early in the morning and started right away. It was Randy and two other men and they were very fast and efficient and took plenty of care to make sure they wrapped everything nice and secure and had tons of padding and other supplies to make sure our items and the houses were safe from damage. They communicated with us the whole time to make sure we knew what was going on and kept us in the loop. They were super friendly and I felt very comfortable having them around. The weather even got really bad and it started to snow, which of course slowed things down a little bit, but Randy and his crew worked the whole time and did not stop until the job was completely finished. Randy even did a lot of extra work for us and had to help us disassemble a lot of items that we did not know how to take apart properly, and moved a lot of extra things for us. He really made sure we were very well taken care of and received the best service possible. And at the end of the day, the price I paid was the price he quoted me originally. Flat Rate Moving really treated us like long time friends and treated our belongings and our houses with the utmost care. They did an amazing job! Please do yourself and this small, up and coming business a favor and call them up for your next move, you will be very glad you did.

No damage or breakage. This was the 25th move in our married life so we have a fair amount of experience in both local and long haul moves. This was certainly among the best. Selling my dad's house to settle his estate and the closing is inching closer. It was the only company who answered my call, Frank was very helpful. Got the rates, and booked it for today (Easter Sunday). Zack and Milton showed up promptly at 9am as scheduled. They loaded the truck efficiently and with care for certain items, my main concern being a grandfather clock. Was wrapped and taped up and tightly secured to the side. Everything was nestled in snug as a bug in a rug. Was a two hour drive to where we live. Once there, the truck was the exact same as when loaded. Nothing moved or shifted at all. Professionally done, from start to finish. I can't say anything good or bad on the rates since I didn't have time to compare, but simply not having to do anything ourselves made it worthy. Load, drive to and unload was just at approx 4 hours, plus their 2h drive back. Definitely recommend!

I'm a 20 year military spouse with over 6 moves under my belt and I felt it was extremely important…read morethat other families planning their long distance PPM (previously called DITY) moves (or corporate, personal moves - whether military or not) to be aware that College Hunks employees are not trained at all to pack boxes appropriately or load up a moving truck to limit damage as it travels. In addition, the job came in almost 3x the quoted price AND we received zero customer support or communication from the franchise ownership when we experienced problems (read below for details). The negative vibes started when their team arrived the morning of our move with only 2 people and no packing paper, no boxes, no markers for labeling, etc. Although the pack out had been confirmed with College Hunks' scheduler and main POC (his name was Alexander - he oozes confidence but he is not accurate, effective or helpful in a negative situation) two days prior the team didn't get the memo and thought they were just there to load a truck (it was supposed to be a pack out and load job). We had completed a detailed on-site meeting/walk thru with their scheduler, Alexander, and discussed picture boxes, wardrobe boxes, etc. so it wasn't that the company had never laid eyes on the job. The lead packer, Ethan, did get on the phone when I told him the actual scope and he quickly got supplies and 2 more people to our site, which was great, but it went downhill from there. If that had been the only issue I would not be leaving this long winded negative review. When we got to our destination we unpacked box after box after box with ZERO packing paper. Most items had not been wrapped or protected at all. All they did was take drawers and shelves of items and throw them into a cardboard box and seal it up. I had many damaged and broken glass, wood and ceramic items on the other end. I will acknowledge there was 1 packer, named Ethan, that did use packing paper and attempted to label boxes (after he borrowed a marker from us and after we asked them to label). He was the packer in our line of sight most of the day so we had no idea the others were not packing correctly or labeling anything. Ethan was great and had a good attitude all day - if all of their employees behaved like Ethan it would have been a very different move. Movers should know this but when you pack a truck for a long distance move and the boxes have no packing paper or internal support (and they're only 1/2 - 3/4 full) they all start to collapse and crush down from weight above as the truck drives and bounces. This is why we had so much damage. None of our boxes were labeled and the final straw was their cheap packing tape wasn't sticking to the boxes so as the movers at the destination site picked up boxes they were falling apart and collapsing on them. Items were falling out onto the ground as they tried to move stuff inside. I reached out to Alexander several times during the pack out, and also while we were unloading, with photos and expressed our disappointment and concerns and he assured me that the franchise owner would reach out within 24-48 hours to discuss what happened. Well, it's been over 2 weeks and crickets - not a single text, call or email. So it's clear their upper management really doesn't care about customer service. They got their 3x money and with job over we don't matter to them anymore. Take this review as a beware - they look great at face value but their team is not trained, equipped or supported by upper management.

But to the two movers who ACCIDENTALLY left my brand new vacuum cleaner and many other items on the truck that I was too weak to come out and look in, you, God and I know what you did. I hope this disturbs your peace. As a repeat customer, I trusted where I shouldn't. So this disabled, single mother will neither recommend not utilize your company again. Do better.
