We talked over the phone and he came out. He measured everything, asked questions, and helped me get out into words the design I wanted. 3. The only delay I faced was rain which is outside of his control and he was here the next day working. 4. His pricing was reasonable and did not make me wait weeks to start this project. From the day he came to give the quote, he was here the following week already working. I am so appreciative for how quickly he began the project and finished it. As someone who has had a dirt back yard for a year and 4 dogs, it was stressful. He lifted all of that and made my yard something we can enjoy again. The job is beautifully done. We have had several compliments from family, friends, and other professionals that do work for us. I told him I wanted rounded corners and it's just the way I requested. I also hired him to plant a much needed shade tree in my back yard. We discussed several different trees and I ended up picking one he recommended. I had a few questions the day after it was planted. Pics provided for the first quote were taken 1 week before they saw the tree. I figured maybe $50-$100 more if at all, but more than double!? Insanity. I understand trees can grow fast, but not fast enough to warrant that kind of price jump. ------------------------------- UPDATE: Business reached out and is blaming pictures for the huge jump in price. As stated in original review, the photos are a week old. In no way does that justify a potential 100% price jump. The tree was not "much different". Trees change, but not a ton in 7 days. There is no "inaccurate" information. Original review stated the pics were 1 week old. I did not "agree" the tree looked different. I agreed on rescheduling. And you absolutely 100% said "oh man I forgot the wood chipper" and then later followed with "didn't think I'd need it for this job". I tried to be understanding and work with y'all but, now it seems you are suggesting I have lied about this experience. Perhaps do not provide virtual quotes if they are going to be that inaccurate. And $250-$350 jumping to $575 can absolutely be "more than double" if it is the $250 price point.

I struggled with writing this 1 star review because I like to praise companies for what they do…read moreright as opposed to what they're doing wrong. After thinking about it more I really felt compelled to make sure to share my experience. I was referred to Humberto by someone who used him professionally for remodel projects. They said that he did a good job for them but he wasn't the least expensive and I don't mind paying for good quality work. Let me first start by saying that the job was almost 2 years ago so I have given ample time to see how good the workmanship was. So of course just like a first date everyone is on their best behavior the first couple of dates. There were a few minor hiccups when we started: 1. The pavers were laid the wrong direction... that was an easy fix, yeah it took a little more time but they needed to be laid the right way. I mean I printed a picture and laid out on the diagram how the pattern should be and went over it a couple of times so not sure how that happened. 2. I asked for the drip lines to have the attachments at the tip and for them to be the adjustable type so I could control how much each plant got depending on the type of plant I was going to plant. He buried the drip and then when I asked him to do it the original way I asked he charged me extra. 3. I asked for metal edging and I saw the metal edging and the thickness at the specific store where he got it from. So when I noticed after he installed that the edging wasn't as thick and looked cheap and flimsy I decided to measure it and go down to the store just to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Sure enough it wasn't the correct gauge. I asked him about it to which he responded that they didn't have that gauge and there was only 1 thickness. Listen I know people make mistakes but just own up to them. I had him meet me at this supply store and they confirmed that they did indeed have the correct gauge. Luckily the manager at the store was so nice that he gave me the contractors price which was less than the original price that I was given by Humberto. I didn't the landscaper mark up special this time around. 4. For the kicker...After I had him reinstall the correct gauge metal edging I asked him on more than one occasion if it was supposed to stick out nearly 4 inches above the ground.. I thought it was supposed to be more flush to the ground and act like a boundary between the landscaping. He didn't respond to my multiple text messages and unfortunately for my dog he ended up stepping right on the metal edging that should've been placed at least 4" into the ground. Instead...one injured pup and $500+ later in vet bills. We asked him to come and back fill against the metal edging with more granite rock so that the step down wouldn't be so bad... and of course he responded to that... Cha ching So you ask why am I writing this review nearly 2 years later? Because I tore the metal edging out this past weekend only to discover that most of the pieces were no more than 1/4 of an inch in the ground and the only reason they didn't cause more problems was because the 12" metal stakes kept them somewhat in place. Now I am having to have the edging redone. I spent over $9000 and you think he could've taken the time to install it right... I should've disputed the credit card charge way back then. Awful Awful Awful Do yourself a favor and find someone else to do the work you'll save yourself a lot of money and a headache in the long run
