This is the PERFECT cookie. I live 2 hours away and had my first taste last weekend while I was visiting my family for Thanksgiving. This place is simply amazing! It was our first time and we got the chocolate chip cookie and it was out of this world!! It was sweet and soft with a pinch of salt, simply the best. It almost felt like we were eating cookie dough! They were about to close but Steve was kind enough to serve us and tell us about the place. Amazing baked goods!! The best I have had in Orlando hands down! For the cookies I've tried the cookies and cream, chocolate chip and candied walnut chunk and they are all amazing! For their cakes, I've tried the salted caramel and it's an amazing combination of salty and sweet with big chunks of sea salts in the frosting which is to die for. I saw a picture of Gideon's cookies on a friend's Facebook and immediately texted her "WHAT IS THIS??" I was delighted when they opened at East End. When I finally got my grubby mitts on a cookie (or two) they definitely lived up to the hype! Be prepared to either stretch a cookie out for several days--they are really that big and that rich!--or immediately enter into a sugar coma the rest of the day. If you are going to splurge on a treat or if you have a free day in your diet, run don't walk to Gideon's Bakehouse at East End Market! I went by today to pick up my Farmhaus dinner and was drawn to the lovely sweets in their case. I got a cookies and cream cookie and a slice of red velvet cake. The cookie was decadent and absolutely divine. If you are a fan of cookies and cream, try one or two or three! The cookies are huge and hearty and oh so worth every calorie. I cannot wait to try the other varieties. The red velvet slice is still waiting for me in my fridge, but I cannot wait to try it. If it is any bit as good as the cookie, since it is their signature item I'm sure it will be, I'll be in big trouble. read more

The cookies in this little shop are the best cookies I've ever had in my life. I doubt even NYC has anything that can even hope to compare. I saw the write up and had to go and check out Gideon's Bakehouse. I am a cookie fan and was really looking forward to trying these massive delights. I even waited on line for 15 minutes to get them. First off, I don't want to say these are bad cookies. They aren't. I just wasn't as wowed by them as everyone else seems to be. They look amazing but honestly, if I ate some raw cookie dough, it would be the same thing. They were far too sweet for me as I could feel the sugar crunching as i ate them (and i eat Nutella from the jar so you know I like sweet). I like a crunch in a cookie and these were too soft batch style. I hope they do well, they seem like nice people with a passion for what they do. Maybe down the road they can make a cookie for the people that enjoy it a bit more baked. read more

Let's start with what's most important, the flavor. The cookies we bought (triple chocolate chip and cookies and cream) were really good, rich in flavor, super fresh, super soft, and large in size. The cashier was really helpful and nice too. The only downside was going there expecting to get the flavor cookie I saw online that I wanted and they didn't have it that day because they just weren't making it. They should do a "what's on the menu each day" menu in my opinion. But still, I'd say go try it for something different. read more

I stumbled upon this stand one Sunday and noticed a line..which is usually a good sign. The unusual mixture of cookie options make you want to try one of everything. Chocolate chips with either salted walnut, pistachio, espresso....and it goes on. I'm giving it a 4 star because on two occassions we had more of a cookie dough base making the cookie seem as if it should have been cooked longer.
