I was on a search for the best key lime pie in Orlando, and Sister Honey's popped up. It's a small dessert shop on the side of a street. They specialize in a lot of other cakes and pastries, as well. I thought the key lime had a good texture, and I liked the crust. It was creamy and tart, but surprisingly sweeter than I expected. The texture is similar to a cross between thick custard and cheesecake. The lime did taste pretty fresh within the pie. Personally, I'd prefer if the flavor was overall more mild, but appreciated the fresh zest aura of the pie. I enjoyed how transportable their packaged treats are - perfect for small gifts! I have a very different palate than everyone, but was surprised that I felt neutral about the award-winning Sister Honey's. I was craving cupcakes and decided to stop at sister honeys . This little bakery is so cute and I love the great assortment of cupcakes . I tried the cookies and cream and almond cupcake. The cookies and cream had Oreo filling and up top. The icing was so creamy and good. The almond wasn't my favorite but the cake was moist in itself and had butter cream icing. Visiting from out of town and wanted to check out this place because of a review I saw on Instagram. My brother and I came after I landed on Sunday but it was closed. Came back the day before I flew out and we were not disappointed. Got three pieces of cake. The pineapple, blueberry/ lemon, and the hummingbird cake. This is hands-down the best bakery in Orlando. I can't pick a favorite thing I've tried here because everything is just so good. Honestly, I can't choose a favorite because everything I've tried has been incredible. The cakes are pure perfection - incredibly moist with a crumb that simply melts in your mouth. The frosting is the perfect complement, never overpowering. Even the cookies are fantastic. The only drawback for me is that the refrigerated foods must be eaten before I leave as they don't survive the long trip back to my house. While the exterior of the shop isn't the most impressive, the interior is nicely set up. The staff is always friendly and helpful, taking great care in handling and serving the food to customers. I've even seen a line out the door, and they handled it professionally and with great attention to every customer. I'd love to try their pies, especially the apple pie that I've seen in the pictures online, but I find it hard to justify the cost of a whole pie for just one or two people. read more

Finally got around to trying Sister Honey's. We stopped in to grab a few treats. They have more than pie and cakes, there's also cupcakes and cookies. We decided to try the German chocolate cake for $10 a slice and the key lime for $8. Of the two I preferred the key lime, it was the perfect amount of tart and the pie crust was really good! Today I got a slice of their chocolate poundcake, a slice of their strawberry cream cake and a red velvet cupcake. However due to high demand you can only get four slices of a certain cake; however all their baked goods are absolutely phenomenal. My fiancé really likes chocolate so I got him a slice of the chocolate pound cake and a friend of mine really like strawberries so I got them a slice of the strawberry cream cake. This storefront is very small it is located right on Michigan across from the cava restaurant. The gentleman at the counter helped me out with my purchases. And service was fast and quick and easy as always. My total today was about $20. If you haven't been here I definitely recommend it every item they have is amazing and superb. read more

Sister honey got a interior makeover! It's a pretty cute bakery with your favorite cakes, pies, and cupcakes. This spot is my go to for a sweet treat for a celebratory cake. You can order by the slice at the store, or you can order ahead for a cake/pie. The pistachio, Coconit, and carrot cake are my favorite. They recently added an ube pound cake. I don't really taste much Ube and felt the icing was just sugar and no ube or coconut taste. I really like Ube, but this is not it. Regardless I love everything else. The brown sugar bundt cake is phenomenal. I love trying different items from the counter and I have loved everything so far! From the hummingbird cake to the coconut slice I've tried so many tasty new treats. The prices are a little high but you do get a pretty good sized dessert. I'd recommend coming here with someone and trying a couple things together. My kids love coming here and trying different sweet treats. I think my youngest has tried most of their cup cakes by now. She approves! The counter inside has a nice display of all of the items. If you get something out of the cooler I'd recommend asking for a fork (and napkins) so you can eat it in your car. Discovered them one day on my way to work after having driven by every single day, the fact that I hadn't stopped sooner is seriously disappointing. These cakes are God Sent!!!! How does she do it. I ordered a slice for each family member, from the pistachio to the key lime pie. They all deserve a chefs kiss, I can see why this place has so many awards. They go quick so get there early and sometimes you may need to revisit if it's something you want. It's been many years since we've been to sister honeys at this location. We used to buy high pieces from them at the Winter Park farmers market when it was in their old railroad station. Had something to do on that end of town and thought I would buy my husband a treat, I walked out with a banana pudding and a lemon pie The cakes looked amazing. Probably about 12 inches tall. The banana pudding was luscious and delicious and comforting. The lemon pie was like a lemon cheesecake, creamy and rich. Will need to take a drive down that end of town again for more. read more

"Award winning" and I can taste why!!! Their cake was amazing. Specifically the coconut cake with that pineapple inside was mouthwatering delicious! I wanted to smother myself in it, but that would mean wasting cake so I guess that's a No. I wasn't sure if this was considered pricey because people don't really sell cake slices back home, they always want you to buy the whole cake. Luckily Sister Honeys sells slices and whole cakes! I also had 2 cupcakes that were great but I was more impressed with the cake since I don't get it often. So in the mornings, there is a line at opening especially on the weekend. I refuse to be a part of the line and that morning rush. I actually went in on a Saturday afternoon where there was a steady flow of people but not crowded. Now idk if there's a different selection or more in the mornings but there were definitely plenty of goodies to choose from that afternoon. Didn't feel like I was missing out. Wish I could transport these sweet treats back home but unfortunately TSA won't allow me and I'm sure it would be a smashed mess with USPS. So I'll reserve this goodness for my visits to Orlando. I believe the frosting is a Swiss meringue and I'm not sure what's in the middle- it almost tastes like a coconut pie filling (I could be so wrong) but it's FANTASTIC. I adore this family owned bakery. It has a family feel and I enjoy chatting with one of the owners every time I visit Sister Honey's. You can see the delicious treats being made in the back. I love this and it adds to the warm feeling of the place. I've been coming here for years and always look forward to how nice the staff is. The baked goods are always fresh and the selection is best in the morning. However, they do restock different items throughout the day. I've tried a lot of the desserts but my top three are the hummingbird cake slice, coconut cake slice and the snickerdoodle cookies. Oh, the pistachio cake slice is great, too! There isn't anything I've tried that I didn't enjoy. Whole cakes have to be purchased 48 hrs in advanced and they're closed Sunday and Monday. Cakes slices run about $8. Upon arrival, I noticed the cleanliness and neat organization of the shop. Most of the treats are on display as soon as you walk through the door, encased, behind glass and cake covers. We got the half dozen cupcakes, which were all delicious. Red velvet was my favorite hands down. Also grabbed a brown sugar pound cake. I've been trying to make my way out to Sister Honey's since she was listed under nominations for James Beard award and wanted to support a great black owned business! Went out on a Saturday and drove down to the spot, they share a parking lot with other businesses but it had plenty of parking. It was not as distinguished as I thought so I almost passed by it because the other shops have the same type of signs. When we got inside, I was surprised they did not have a lot out for a Saturday morning. We got several items the coconut cake, cookies n cream cupcake, hummingbird cupcake, and snickerdoodle cookies. What a delicious, and adorable, local bakery! We have been meaning to go in here for awhile as we live in the area and pass it by all the time, and we are so glad we finally made it in. It's a small location but there are plenty of options. NOTE: if you want a full pie or cake, you MUST order this in advance. They serve all items by the slice only if you just walk in. Everything here is homemade I had been following this place on instagram for a while and one day decided to just drive out and try it ended up being a lot closer than what I though! They have promos on their page for certain desserts that are for limited time so if tu happen to see something you like you should go get it fast because these tend to run out! When I came into this place I decided to try each cupcake in display, there was a peanut butter, cake mix, lemon, chocolate, strawberry, I gotta say all of them were so good!!! I loved the lemon cupcake it was so moist and zesty but not overly sugary if you get my drift. This seems to be a mom and pop place in which I am happy to support. It's not often that I run into a goo bakery this has got to be by far my favorite in Orlando. There are no tables to sit down mainly you just go and pick up.
