WORST FLORAL AND BUSINESS EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I am now living in fear for my life because of FLOWERS and a truly crazy woman calling herself the owner. On THIS website and their own, the owner of the business states "...20 years Family owned and operated, we care if your not happy we guarantee 100% your money back or a replacement." I was 0% happy and I did not get my money back or any kind of replacement. All I received were DEATH THREATS, an extremely unhappy mother and a three flowers that died in less than three days. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS BUSINESS. THEY ARE AFFILIATED SOMEHOW WITH THE MAFIA OR AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT THEY THREATEN YOU WITH IF YOU DARE QUESTION THE LACK OF QUALITY IN THEIR PRODUCT. Update 5/11/20: I spoke with my mother again and the flowers are already dead. They lasted less than three days. First of all, the woman owner is the most unprofessional individual I have ever come into contact with in ANY business interaction I have dealt with. They misrepresented their products on their website about what I would be receiving. It was a completely different product than what we ordered. First, we wanted a deluxe bouquet in a basket, and we were given an extremely small bouquet in a vase. We literally picked this florist because of the basket. We understood that the exact flowers might be different due to COVID, but the website states that you will get an equivalent value of flowers and nowhere does it mention a change of the base. This meant that if we ordered a Deluxe size arrangement, we would still get a Deluxe size and not an extra-small. This place should be avoided at all costs. A friend of mine ordered flowers from California to Washington and they never got delivered. She called the business and the woman who answers was trying to blame that another website was used for the order but the email confirming the purchase says it was directly from Gig Harbor florist because their business number was there. She said a cancellation notice was sent which it was not. $136 was charged and now being disputed. She was very rude and not willing to help!DONT WASTE YOIR MONEY!!! read more

It was my mothers birthday and I wanted to do something a little extra special for her day. I decided to have flowers delivered to her work as a surprise. I went online and found 3 florists in the area I chose the one that opened first because I was excited to get them to her. I chose a mid-grade custom arrangement for $65, one Mylar balloon $5 and after delivery fees and taxes and processing fees the total cost came to $92.33. Ouch! But I wanted to make her feel special so I ordered anyway. As I was at work, I had my grandmother call the florist around noon to see when the flowers would be delivered. The lady was very nice and told my grandma that they would be delivered in about 10 minutes! I was so excited and waiting for my mom to get them. I soon got a photo text of the arrangement and a thank you from my mother. I was instantly horrified... It looked like a kid had picked flowers and thrown them in a cup and shoved some balloons in just because. I then left a nice 3 star review on Google (more than I wanted to give her) and decided lesson learned don't order flowers online. About 30 minutes later my grandmother gets a call from the florist saying that she thought she had missed a call. My grandmother corrected her that it was from finding out the delivery time earlier. The florist asked how we liked the flowers and my grandmother told her the truth, that we were unpleased with the cost of the flowers vs the product delivered. Well this is where she gets her 1 star... She proceeds to go off on my grandmother about the arrangement being an organic look, that the vase was a hand painted crystal free upgrade, and that due to the droughts in California flower costs have gone up. Anyway, she couldn't take the criticism at all, she told my grandmother to tell me to take my business elsewhere from now on. I never asked for a refund I never called to complain I just wanted the whole mess to go away. I was embarrassed that my special gift had been not at all what I was going for, it looked very unprofessional, her attitude thrown at my grandmother was uncalled for, and then to top it off she sent me a "Thank you" card that was completely unnecessarily backhanded. Worst service ever. I ordered a specific floral arrangement for Mother's Day containing her favorite colors and flowers. My mother received a completely different plant . When I called, the owner of the business told me I didn't understand and they could go pick up the flowers and send me a refund. She stated they didn't have enough staff to call all the people whose orders they were not able to correctly fill. But they apparently had enough staff to go pick up the already delivered flowers. Terrible experience. Stayed in a hotel for the weekend. Arranged for flowers to be delivered to the front desk so they could take them to the room, so when we checked in we would have some lovely flowers for Mothers Day. They didn't have any of the flowers advertised in the pictures, so they called me. On my speaker phone in the car, on our way to the hotel, and told me "US" that they would be making an arrangement of what they had. So now the surprise is also spoiled. Checked in, saw the flowers and we both almost laughed. Terribly arranged. Stuffed in a vase, with rocks at the bottom. Now I have seen some nice vases with nice rocks (gravel) in the bottom, but these were terrible. Possibly dug up in the driveway or something. When we arrived home to rearrange them, we dumped out the rocks....and dirt, and mud, and sediment. Really gross. And the flowers they chose were not complimentary or beautiful at all, nothing made sense. Please only use this business if you want a problem. I called directly to have flowers delivered to my moms work for Mother's Day! They said the minimum was 30$ plus a delivery fee of 10.95$. They didn't deliver to the right suite number first off and my mom said the flowers looked like they were just shoved in the vase! She had to rearrange them to look better! The lady who took my order was very nice and helpful but I think next time I'll order from pro flowers. You get way more for the price charged! read more

I wanted to support a local business so I ordered flowers for my wife from this florist. Normally I spend a $100 and get something gorgeous. What she received was ridiculous. 12 calla lilies and some baby's breath shoved (literally shoved) into a tiny vase. Not even a pretty arrangement. It looks as though it was scooped up, jammed in and sent out the door. Shocking! And all this for the mere price of $120. Wow, what a horrible experience with this florist. I was so excited to send my parents flowers for their 60th anniversary. I called directly to place order. I specifically stated the occasion and what I was looking for. Flowers were delivered timely. However, when I walked in to my parents house and saw the bouquet I was EMBARRASSED and very disappointed. The flowers themselves were pretty but it looked like my 3 year old granddaughter stuffed them in a recycled Dollar Store vase, filled it water, plopped it on the counter and called it good. I sent an email to florist but 3 days later, no response. When I called to express my concerns about the quality of the arrangement, I was met with open hostility and a unapologetic owner. She stated the flowers are garden flowers not FTD and that is the way they do things and that I should have asked that question so I knew what kind of arrangement to expect. After a terse exchange and unable to reach a reasonable compromise, I stated I would be leaving reviews voicing my dissatisfaction with with my overall experience with this business, I was promptly hung up on. Needless to say, my family, extended family, friends and acquaintances will be told of this awful experience and to order flowers from anyone but GIG HARBOR FLORIST or FLOWERS BY THE BAY! By the way, your local grocery store florist arrangements are more professionally produced by people who take pride in the proper arrangement and look of a bouquet plus the cost is half as much as this florist. Not only were they not delivered on the date requested, but when I called to ask why Mary the owner told me that 11am was the deadline. I ordered at 11. How about a heads up?! Never got one. She took it upon herself to delay delivery from my requested date from Friday to Monday. I asked for a credit and indicated I would review accordingly. Mary not only told me not to threaten her with internet reviews, but that her husband was a cop (who cares??!!) and her neighbor was homeland security (TSA lol). Said she'd sue me for slander. I live in LA, and my mother lives in Gig Harbor. So instead of buying flowers online like usual (I get stunning arrangements from FTD and Pro Flowers) my husband and I thought we would support a local business and are we ever sorry that we did! The $80 arrangement sent to my mother was nothing that we asked for, and consisted of tiny purple spray roses and greenery (they looked like flowers you would send to your dying grandmother). We were so disappointed when my mom sent me a picture of them that we called to let Flowers by the Bay know how we felt. My mother even said that we got totally ripped off and she isn't usually the type to say anything negative. SO I decided to call them and let them know I was disappointed, not expecting a refund or discount just wanting them to hear our dissatisfaction and maybe offer a coupon to re-visit or at least an apology. NOTHING, the woman who answered who I assume was an older woman (the owner) was RUDE, and lacked not only customer service skills, but floral skills as well (she remembered making the flowers and thought that they were beautiful! HA). I would have expected much more especially in customer service and attitude from a fellow Washingtonian. I would have never paid more than $50 for the arrangement sent to my mother (including vase, tax and local delivery) and that would even be pushing it, none the less $80! I could have flown home and bought flowers (much prettier flowers I might add) at Safeway and delivered them to my mom myself for only a couple bucks more. We will continue to support local Gig Harbor business but not this one. The woman told me good luck with delivering my mom flowers from anywhere else in the harbor since there was only one other florist. So I guess if you are reading this CALL THE OTHER FLORIST or ORDER ONLINE from a reputable dealer like FTD. OH and also this place is called Gig Harbor Flowers -Flowers by the Bay. A couple of weeks ago I needed to send flowers to a local resident in Gig Harbor. I wanted a LOCAL shop, one that had a store front and folks who knew the area since I do not live in Gig Harbor. After making several calls I found this florist. I spoke to Mary and she was so helpful and sweet. I shared with her the flowers were for a relative who just had surgery due to cancer. I am a pretty picky person and she took the time and went over every detail from type of flowers to type and color of vase. I ordered a bright boquet of cut flowers in a clear glass vase. When I called on a Saturday mid morning I wasn't expecting they would go out that same day, she assured me they would. About 3:00pm that same day I received a call from Mary that said she wrote my credit card number down wrong and could I call her back. I did and to my surprise she said " I am so sorry for the inconvience but not to worry we sent the flowers anyway." I was so impressed that she took care of the situation. The best part was when I received a text and a picture from the recipient thanking me and when I looked at the picture it was exactly what I ordered..in fact it was fuller than I expected. So Mary had exceeded my expectations several times on this one transaction plus she was a joy to work with. Oh and it is my understanding that Mary is the owner of this business. I called in an order for some flowers for my sister-in-law's birthday. It was late in the afternoon, after the shop had quit deliveries. I asked Mrs. Mitchell if the flowers could be delivered today and she said the shop had quit deliveries for the day, but they would deliver at closing time. I told her that would be great and I'd appreciate her doing that. Mrs. Mitchell was really helpful in suggesting flower arrangements and told me she'd make up something special. She was so very considerate and thoughtful, and I know she'll do a wonderful job on the arrangement. I would recommend this florist to all my family and friends. read more

I have been using FTG in Gig for a few years now, and right now I am hoping my recipients haven't been disappointed as my last. I ordered a dear friend a Thank you arrangement to be delivered. It was to be a sunflowers and other greenery in a vase. What arrived was sunflowers with NO petals and past blooming with a sprig (yes a sprig) of dead "greenery". My friend in all graciousness, thanked me for the "vase" and called FTG and let them know, that she was sure that I would be upset and disappointed in the garbage they sent. They did make it "right" with her and the arrangement but not with me! I am so upset and so embarrassed! I am now left wondering if all the other things I have ordered were of this garbage. Mary hung-up on me numerous times even calling me back only to hang-up again. I ended up being charged for a product that I never received inevitably having to file a claim with my bank in order to get my money back. Long story: I ordered flowers to be delivered to my mother-in-law on Mother's Day 2014 from Flowers By the Bay/Gig Harbor Flowers/Gig Harbor Florist (they go by all three names). My order was confirmed for Sunday (Mother's Day) delivery but on mid-day Friday, a man at the florist left a voice mail requesting to see if the flowers could be delivered Saturday instead of Sunday. Since I was at work, I wasn't able to return the call until 5:30pm that day. Mary (owner) answered the call and was very RUDE from the start. It was clear she was irritated that I called when I did claiming they were closed (note: website hours of operation 8am-8pm). She continuously interrupted me when I was trying to explain that I was only returning THEIR phone call in regards to a delivery change. Because of her impolite interruptions she lead herself to confusion thinking I was the one trying to change the date, stating they can't guarantee delivery times. The conversation continued on like this until Mary's hostility peaked when she suggested that we cancel the order. I surrendered in agreement, thanked her and told her that was probably a good idea. Before we could confirm the cancellation she immediately hung up on me. I tried to reestablish contact a few times to complete our conversation and make sure we were not going to be charged. Mary hung up on me twice, my husband once, and had the audacity to call us back threatening to sue us for "slander of her business" in regards to this YELP review. It has now been a week since the "order cancellation," my account has been charged the full amount of $76, and no flowers were ever delivered. In order to obtain my money without her graciously giving it back, I had to again establish contact with the business, which of course she hung up on me two more times. I ordered a Cheergiver Basket online for a very dear ill friend and upon arrival it was not anything as pictured. Not only did it NOT arrive in a basket, it didn't even have the fall cheerful colors as pictured online. When I called to tell of my disappointment I was "disconnected" and upon calling back received such poor customer service, I will not recommend this florist. I Called, instead of saying sorry and what can I do, the owner was rude. I explained the differences between the order I placed and the one delivered. I asked her why she did not call me if there was such a problem with getting the right flowers? maybe I should select another arrangement. I wanted flowers for my family member for her birthday and these where not up to par. I hung up because I was starting to become upset at the way the owner was yelling at me and degrading my past customer service skills. The owner phoned back threatening me with lawyer because I was going to give bad rating on her web . I explained that I too am a business owner and would never treat a customer this way. The owner then threatened my business by stating she would go on my Facebook page and web site and give me a bad rating... Let me say, she is not even a customer. Had a terrible experience with this florist. Ordered on line from out of state for Mother's Day 2013. Flowers delivered were poor and my mother called florist to let them know. Instead of being gracious and service oriented, she was told that it was too bad she was so unhappy that she couldn't appreciate what she had received. Florist said if she didn't like them, they would come pick them up and issue a credit. They picked up the flowers (crazy as to why they didn't deliver a new arrangement). No credit came through for the arrangement so just called the shop and spoke with Mary who dug in her heels and continued to refuse to grant the credit since the flowers were delivered (and never picked back up according to her). I assured her they were picked up, but instead of giving in proceeded to tell me in no uncertain terms that they were not. She informed me she personally inspected every arrangement before they went out and they would never deliver anything unsatisfactory. I would have been happy to pay if a replacement arrangement was delivered, but they were not. No apology, no sympathy, not even a remote possibility that her business could have had anything to do with the situation. Unbelieveable.
