I've followed Gigi to a few different locations because she is very sweet and personable and takes her time to give a quality mani and pedi. You get to choose your V'oesh 4 step pedi "treatment" which consists of a salt soak, sugar scrub, mud mask and a moisturizing body butter. Legs are wrapped with a warm towel, followed by a nice calf massage. OPI polishes (gel and regular) are used exclusively. The space itself is exceptionally clean, well appointed and tastefully done. I initially booked Gigi for dip nails but upon arrival she recommended a new product that's supposed to help strengthen nails. I decided to give it a shot, and so far so good! When I was requesting appointment, I requested French+Ombrè nails. She delivered! See my pictures! I'm very happy with how they turned out. I wanted to see how they turn out in real life since I'm considering it for my wedding day nails. Due to everyone's wonderful reviews, I thought I would try Gigi. I made an appointment for dip nails the day before my trip overseas. I thought it was odd that she used gel nail polish over the base dip powder... Maybe they don't have dip powder polish. I didn't think much of it. I had to pay a premium (more than my usual go to spot), so I figured my nails would last longer. Boy was I wrong! They began to chip after 4 days. All of them chipped after a week and a half! For the price and how long they didn't last, I was disappointed. I would give 1 star, but will give another for the fact the polish stayed on for a mere 4 days... read more

I've been coming to Gigi for pedicures for almost a year now! Let me tell you, shes amazing. Getting an appointment is done with ease because she is quick to respond to her messages. If she has the room to squeeze you in, she always will which is amazing! Shes very accommodating and extremely friendly. I wont go to anyone else for my pedicures now. I have even brought my gf and she loves going to Gigi now too! I also got my friend to go to her and now she even brings her mom and bf to Gigi because of the experience we have with her. Scheduled a basic pedicure which Gigi provided a wonderful job with (included a scrub and massage). Showed her a picture of what I wanted for my French manicure and Gigi did it amazingly. She's super sweet and has great focus and attention to detail. Will be coming back again! read more

I'm lost when it comes to nails but Gigi took me in to help me. I needed to get my gel extensions removed and had been denied from a previous place. She was very patient and it didn't hurt as she used a nail tip to get between my nail and the gel/plastic nail. I'm glad I came here! She changed locations to Castro valley boulevard inside Hair Changers and doesn't take credit card. read more

Called and made an appointment and Gigi was super accommodating. I've been getting gel tips for years and went here to try not having to go as far to get my nails done. I finally got to try the dip powder and it was pretty cool I have to say. She was very thorough with my nails and even did 4 coats to make sure it's all evenly spread. It was also a very clean environment. It is currently inside a salon and they are moving onto CV Blvd next month so even closer to me! Thanks so much and will be back soon! read more

Based on the high reviews of this business I tried a pedicure here. Gigi was very responsive, kind and welcoming. Unfortunately the $40 price tag on the very basic nail polish pedicure wasn't great. The pedicure wasn't thorough and I would expect and appreciate a full and thorough pedicure at that price. read more

Gigi is lovely! Super fast and precise (she does a mani pedi in an hour). She's always busy, so call/text for an appointment. Her normal manicures can last a week before they start chipping, which is a big win for me since I've had natural nail mania start chipping in 2 days from some shops. The only drawback is that this is a single tech shop, so you can't book for couples/friends/parties/etc. otherwise, I highly recommend! read more

I been searching for a place that takes the time to do your nails. I found Gigi on Yelp and I'm so glad I found her. I made an appointment on Yelp and she responded right away. I was able to be seen the next day. My appointment was at 9 am and on time. Gigi is very friendly and talkative which is a great thing. I like that's she honest and opening to her personal life. I was able to share things as well. Usually after getting my nails done it's thank you and bye. But Gigi asked that she can place an appointment for the next time and we set it up. Overall I love my nails. The colors worked out great. I had a manicure gel and pedicure done. The polish was nice and near. Not the usually sloppy look I get from rushed nail technicians. Found Gigi on yelp. Based on her reviews and the fact that she was super close to my house I sent her a message hoping to get an appointment as soon as possible despite reviews saying she was always booked far in advance. I was so surprised to see her response very quickly and to my luck she was able to fit me in same day. The salon was easy to find in a small business center with plenty parking (probably cause it was a holiday weekend) upon walking in the salon is clean bright, updated and welcoming. Gigi was just finishing her previous customer so it gave me time to decide which color I was going to go with. She was friendly with great conversation. She did an amazing job on my nails and was very fast and efficient. She also made sure I was happy and made the changes I wanted without a fuss. My nails look fantastic! I'm so happy to have found a place like Gigi's so close to home. I work in San Francisco and usually get my nails done during my lunch break, but I was tired of paying close to $50 for a gel removal and gel manicure. Most of the time they don't even do the greatest job. Gigi took her time with my nails and even redid a few that didn't look as smooth without me even having to ask. Her shop is super clean and there's a good amount of parking! She did such a great job and it was all for $35 Thank you for blessing me with such beautiful nails, Gigi. I love this cute establishment and the ladies that work here are so friendly! I like a nice, relaxing treatment with natural conversation with my manicurist. I lucked out because I needed a gel mani and pedi the night before leaving for vacation! I managed to land the last appointment of the day! I'm used to a million color palettes thrown at me, but was actually glad about the simple selections I was given. I'm usually pretty easy to please when it comes to getting my nails done. I'm sad to post this review. Gigi was a very sweet person. She did the first dip set of nails on me. I liked it. Unfortunately, I have to report that there is one step of her process that is bad. After she dipped my nails in the powder, she returned the unused powder back to her stock. This means it's contaminated. I don't know how many people had dipped their fingernails into the same powder as I did, but I do know that a few days after I got my nails done, I had my first fingernail fungal infection. I don't know that the dip is where the infection occurred. However, I did call Gigi after I went to the doctor (my luck, fungal infection turned to cellulitis) and her response was to ask if I could show her. I called as a courtesy to say "hey, make sure the powder used on me is thrown out!", but I was really saying "please don't cross contaminate powder!". I was underwhelmed by her reaction. I hope the message gets through. *** I appreciate that there was a written response to my review. I am certain that they are trying to keep everything clean. I did however research how dip nails should be done to prevent infections. There is a lot of information out there. It seems that what is being taught is that powder should not be reused. It is advised that any powder that touches a clients skin be thrown away. Powder quite a different material than nail polish or gel - and it not being applied directly to a fingernail. read more

Came here for a manicure and pedicure, the two ladies and only ones said we don't have time as their doing someone else's nails. I was shocked I just walked into their wide OPEN door. And I was already refused?! But I looked at my clock and I said you still have time for a manicure? And the website says you close at 7pm. She says no sorry were closed. I was a completely shock?! This is rude and unacceptable, they still had enough time to accommodate a customer if not at least the next day. But nothing was done, but instead you get an open door to rudeness and zero service! I found this awesome place last minute during my lunch hour break on Friday and Gigi was able to take me in the next morning very early to get my mani and pedi before I work on the weekend. She's a very sweet woman and not to mention she does an awesome job. Didn't even have to give her instructions on how I wanted my nails shaped and she's got it figured out just by looking at my nails shape. I'm a very picky person asking for perfection and she's got me looked for sure from this day on forward. She made me early coffee with pastries and there's just nothing else I can ask for. I really wished she had more time so I can get them designed too but her next appointment had already come in so so I'll definitely come back and have them done on my next visit. Service was attentive & I got to speak with I believe the owner who had been there for 16 years so it made the experience more memorable. Since I don't want a gel pedicure I opted for a regular lacquer nail polish. The polish was a bit old & gooey but she added a few drops of nail polish thinner & it worked. My daughter had a gel manicure & she mentioned the color she chose also has that issue. I guess when you have so many options to choose from there are bond to be bottles that don't get regularly used. The experience was pleasant for my pedicure, but I would suggest making an appt.w/the younger male nail specialist for details on your manicure. It seems like he has a keen eye for details. Visiting Lena's Nail was a quick & efficient experience so if you don't have an appt.then walk in's seem welcomed here.

Then, I found out about Anna Nails on Castro Valley Boulevard and had my nails done properly and gel polish applied. It made my nails strong and crack-free. End of problem! Carrie is so kind, gentle, sweet, and a professional. What won me over was her communication. I sent an email explaining my situation, and she responded!!! Her response was so friendly. She found an appointment for me and I haven't looked back. Her space is clean, welcoming, and always has available parking. She greets me with warmth and a nice smile. She engages in great conversation, laughter, and never misses a beat while working on my nails. Her color choices and products are top tier. I am very careful with my nails, but sometimes, I have to do stuff&things, with, and without gloves. When I say I have been stunned that my nails hold up and do not fail me, I am not exaggerating. Idk what my nails would do without her…read more I've been doing Japanese hard gel for some time and had found a couple others previously in the Bay Area...but either it was bad customer service or terrible handiwork. After some searching, I found Carrie through IG and the rest is history. She's a master at her craft and truly creates a unique experience for you. She'll assess your nails, their health and strength, and provide recommendations on what's best for you. On top of that, her studio is IMPECCABLY clean and organized. Every tool is sanitized and wrapped and she provides hand sanitizer. But most of all, her work truly lives up to her name. She takes her time with each client -always on time and never rushing to get the job done. Whether I was doing art or just a solid color, I truly felt like I was a priority. For those of you who aren't familiar with Japanese hard gel, keep in mind that this is a bit different than your standard "gel". It's SO much healthier for your nails and lasts so much longer. However, appointments take a bit. At minimum, expect to be here for 90-120 minutes. I know - this seems long - but it's SO worth it for the girlies who want long lasting, strengthening gel. Don't bother with standard gel manicures you get at most salons! They'll strip your nails and leave them brittle. I've been going to Carrie for two years and my nails have never been stronger. And if it doesn't get any better, Carrie is just a gem of a human. She's kind, respectful, and inclusive of everyone. Carrie, thank you for always making my nails look SO good.

Update to the update…read more I was unable to return for the nail correction that they offered- which was very appreciative of having that option. I went back for my builder gel fill on my natural nail and was satisfied with this set. Shape is on point , almond and I like more slender and the tech did that for me. This time around they did have new colors that caught my eye like the cat eye chrome and a client next to me was having some airbrush art work, which is something I never saw before so I will be back to try some funner creative sets. Full transparency my builder gel fill was 60$. My nail tech was swift, and detailed. For this experience I had - well worth it!
