This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Atlanta and one of the few places I genuinely never get tired of coming back to. I originally found Gigi's while celebrating my brother and I's birthday, and it ended up becoming a tradition for us to come back every year. Even after he moved away, I've kept coming back for my own birthday because this place just feels special. This visit I ordered the polenta with caviar, beef carpaccio with boquerones, roasted brassicas, spicy rigatoni, chicken milanese, and tiramisu. What I love most about Gigi's is that the menu is smaller, but everything feels intentional and well executed. Nothing feels like filler. Every dish tastes fresh and thoughtfully put together. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the beef carpaccio. I could order that every single visit and still not get tired of it. The service here has always been impeccable and I really appreciate that they're welcoming to solo diners and keep bar seating available. One thing to know is if you sit near the open kitchen, it can get a little warm, but honestly it's worth it. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that reminds me why I love food so much. Came for my birthday and highly recommend having reservations. I will say, I did call to change my reservation time because the resy app only had like three time slots available (a week in advance too!!) and the person who picked up was very rude! She said we don't pick up the phones during service hours just email us, frankly, if I have to email a restaurant I don't want to dine there. And also there email was nowhere to be found on the website. Thankfully, we called back the next day (hopefully during a less busy time? 5:30, they changed it for us in two second so not sure why the other lady had such an attitude about it. Almost really ruined my experience and I was going to dine elsewhere. Started off with focaccia and beef carpaccio. The beef carpaccio was good! Although very very thin serving. We got two pasta dishes and th trout. The pasta dish with shrimp only came with five small pastas, I thought this was kind of pricey and crazy! $32 for five pieces of pasta?! The pork pasta dish was also very very salty. Though a bigger portion for $34, it was okay at best. The trout was definitely the better entree in my opinion. We also got a slice of tiramisu, and this was my favorite item all night. It was sweet and light! They also don't give any free appetizers for your birthday just fyi! 1000 Stars! This restaurant is no where near my home. In fact, it's an hour away. When I say my wife and I talked about this place the entire way home, that is no exaggeration. I'll start with the service. The entire staff here is top of the line. I haven't had better service in a long time. This might as well have been our server Maggie's home, because that's how she treated us. I don't feel "at home" in many restaurants these days. People just don't believe in what they are serving anymore. Absolutely LOVED her! I have never had a server who was more at ease and confident in what she was offering us. I instantly trusted her. Just sit back and let her order for you. Her recommendations were spot on from the wine to the dessert. I wish I could have given her a high five after each dish, but that would have been awkward. The beautiful thing about this place is that there were 4 apps/salad offerings, 4 entrees, and 2 desserts. Tons of wine and drink options. We had a great bottle of Rocca di Principe Irpinia Aglianico CAMPANIA 2022. For starters, We had the Green Salad, woodland gardens lettuces in a beet vinaigrette with asher blue cheese, crispy shallots & candied pecans and the Spring Panzanella, sugar snap peas, focaccia croutons, georgia peaches, genovese basil, house-made stracciatella. Absolutely stunning flavors and so perfectly seasonal. The peaches with the genovese basil was so refreshing! For our entrees we ordered the Spicy Rigatoni, with pork ragù, nduja sausage, san marzano tomatoes, & liuzzi hand dipped ricotta. Perfectly cooked pasta, perfectly balanced flavors with just the right amount of spice and acid. 10/10!! Next came another pasta dish, a Hand Cut Tagliatelle with braised & fermented greens, crispy mushrooms, grana padano & peppercorn agrodolce. I loved the texture of the pasta in this dish. It was incredibly light and the fermented greens were to die for! Our last entree was the Chicken Milanese with yuzu kosho, harissa, herbs & flowers. Absolutely incredible. The chicken was breaded but not greasy. Incredibly light and buttery soft. I've got to be honest, the herbs, flowers and greens on top made this dish. Must try! We had a party of 4 and this was a perfect amount of food and there were no leftovers. That wasn't happening tonight! Finally (and what a finale!!) we ordered what they described as "World Famous" best in town Tiramisu. I will gladly and 100% give them this title. You won't find better tiramisu in this town. And it's nothing like you've ever had before. I am not surprised by many things but this was truly some of the best dessert I have had anywhere! Creamy, fluffy, light, not overly sweet. Not traditional. I've had traditional. This was special. Pro tip: order a cup of black coffee. Not because it needs it, but because you won't believe how good it tastes after a bite. Can't remember if I chased it with dessert or coffee. I just remember the experience. The surprise was just a touch of finishing salt on top. I was speechless. It was giving caramel and I will dream about this. Gigi's is not convenient for me at all but I will gladly go out of my way for more experiences like I had tonight. It is such a cool place inside. Let me tell you - I loved this place. It's such a cute little spot that is off the grid but the food was 100%. We started with the beef carpaccio and peach burrata and omg it's amazing. Entrees: the steak is chefs kiss. The carpaccio was okay. The other pasta I forget the name was 10/10. The chicken was ok. Dessert: tiramisu was great and the sorbet delight was also refreshing. I just have to say for some reason the ac was out and we sweated our balls off. But maybe that's good to counteract the insane calories we ate. The back room the people seemed less melted. But maybe it was just the day. The service was amazing. I'd totally come back if the temp was less than 95. I've also seen that the owners give very funny sassy responses to their less than perfect reviews so I'm waiting for their reads. Bottoms line is you should come here. Very weird experience. Netting out at three stars. The food was good. The beet salad was whatever but the beef carpaccio, polenta cakes, pasta, all good. But also insanely overpriced. $32 for rigatoni with a red meat sauce? $16 for two small polenta cakes? It was good but those are MARGINS. And honestly all of that would have been fine if the service wasn't so rushed. We were told to order everything upfront and they'd course it out for us.... And then all of our plates arrived at the same time. It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to sit and have a nice date night meal and they had us out of there 34 minutes later. Super cozy and comfortable place. Service was fast and the food was great. I hadn't tried Campanelle before so I really enjoyed it as well as the sauce they served it with. I will say, the sponge biscuit part of the tiramisu was a little bit on the saltier side based on the tiramisu I've had before, but you could balance it by grabbing just a little extra of the mascarpone cream on your spoon. Also, the music was definitely interesting, you could tell whoever was managing it was having a good time haha. Some jazz, slow R&B, or just more romantic music in general would have been nice for Valentine's Day, but it didn't ruin our experience by any means. Booked a reservation requested to sit on the hot bar side right in front of the chefs cooking, decors kinda old Italian style I'm not a designer but to me it just gave kinda an old homey feeling. Food came out relatively quickly for how small the kitchen was everything we had was awesome not pictured was focaccia and both desserts. Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the duck it needed a sauce or to just not be on the menu they don't have a great way to cook the duck from watching them, the fat just wasn't rendered enough but the overall concept of the dish was great. Desserts were awesome it's actually a dinner portion compared to most restaurants in Atlanta that are high end. We had a ton of leftovers. Service staffed worked together really well to keep cups filled plates cleared food boxed. I really like the coziness of the restaurant. I like the concept of there only being a few dishes which are executed perfectly and specially. The problem is that the food was good, but not exceptional. If I am paying $30 for a few cups of rice or pasta, I want it to be something which is delectable and memorable--something that I couldn't make myself at home. I just didn't feel that here. I finally had the chance to try Gigi's, and it was well worth the wait. The restaurant is small, so reservations are a must, but they do have a few bar seats for walk-ins. We arrived a bit early, so we grabbed a drink at Candler Park Market next door while we waited. Once seated, we started with the snapper crudo and peach salad--both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For the main course, I had the crispy chicken cacciatore over eggplant and okra. It was absolutely delicious! I also sampled some of the pasta dishes my party ordered, and they were just as impressive. Gigi's truly lives up to the hype as some of the best Italian food in Atlanta. Grabbed a reservation at Gigi's after seeing so many social media posts. There is a free parking lot next door and free street parking. We were sat right on time and the inside is super intimate and cozy. The vibes inside do not really translate to the servers. There is an aesthetic inside with candles on the tables and really romantic but the servers that night were wearing crop tops and ripped jeans. Doesn't really make the most sense given the vibe of this place imo is my two cents. Service was spotty with filling up waters and I had to ask each time. We ordered the caviar and polenta as our app and it was delicious! I really enjoyed it and it was a nice bite to start the meal. I ordered the Fusilli and I was pretty disappointed. It tasted extremely fishy and it came out room temperature. Nothing worse than room temp food being placed right in front of you. Big miss for me. I ordered the tiramisu as I needed to end on a good note and it was stunning. Best part of the meal by far and would definitely just order the tiramisu to-go All in all, I wouldn't come back except to grab the tiramisu to-go. Super tasty meal with a group of friends recently. The ambiance is cute and laid back, but it's a very tight space, and I don't believe they really have seating for very large groups. I hear they're expanding next door - fingers crossed!! Service was friendly, and they did a nice job of coursing things out - they do prefer that you order everything at once. We ordered nearly everything on the menu, so they made it easier! I think the menu rotates, but the cabbage was unexpectedly delicious - get it if you can! Of all the things we had, I also really enjoyed the caviar & polenta. The drinks were just ok though - the cocktails didn't really impress, but the wines we had were pretty good. I would recommend sitting at the bar and enjoying a couple small plates, but I can't really recommend any specific drinks. Best part of the restaurant is the ambience, very intimate setting beautifully decorated and extremely nice staff. Wait staff was very accommodating with the small seasonal menu. One of my friends was a vegetarian and had extremely limited options to choose from. We discovered the menu rotates and unfortunately my party wasn't overly impressed by any of the entrees selected. ($30) each for mid food, a classic pasta on the list would've been perfect. Each dish was overly complicated with missing flavor. Drinks were batch made, so no special requests for cocktails. I've been wanting to come here for so long! I finally got a reservation for early on a Friday evening. They do offer walk ins for outdoor seating and the bar. Their menu changes often but I'm sure anything on it will be amazing. The menu is very simple and only have a handful of things to choose from. We got the polenta and caviar to start. So good! I believe this item stays on the menu regularly. We got a mafaldine pasta with sungold tomato carbonara and it was so flavorful. You must end with tiramisu or at least take some home. We reserved this place because we heard good things and we did it weeks in advance and could only get one reservation at 8:30 which was fine. However, Food was mediocre, service was worse. We ordered three of the four courses and two appetizers and everything was extremely salty and very mediocre and portion sizes small. I'm not even sure if I could classify it as Italian. The wine list is very small and unimpressive. Before leaving the bus boy dumped a whole glass of water onto my lap. The waitress did absolutely nothing, and the manager handed me a rag and explained it was only water. She didn't offer any kind of compensation or to pay for dry cleaning. nothing. What made all this worse was it was my birthday celebration with my three children. The experience also left my daughter in tears because she wanted it to be a nice experience for my birthday. There are a few reasons I decided to leave a review the food, the service and the ambiance. The food. The menu is small and very straight forward. The pasta is fresh and delicious, the steak was cooked well and the mushroom and sauce was delicious. The tiramisu was BOMB. Holy smokes. And grouper dip was very very good. Above average to great across the board. The cocktail menu is limited. They won't make you a whiskey soda/vodka soda. The vibes we got when inquiring about the drinks was a bit snobby. Kind of a bummer but fine. We tried new drinks and enjoyed them none the less. The service. Our waiter did his job. We never waited too long for anything and he seemed to enjoy what he was doing. The ambiance, very intimate in setting but loud as hale. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. We went on a Saturday night and it was poppin. Gigi's Italian Kitchen recently opened in the Candler Park area and adds a really cozy, inviting vibe to the neighborhood. First off - this place has a very limited menu and small space. There are probably only 2 appetizers and 5 entrees on the menu. It rotates though so the latest updates are through their Instagram (you wont find it on their website, which is a bit of a pain). It's not very common nowadays to see such a limited menu, but I'm fine with it as long as everything on the menu is PERFECTION and deserves to be there. I don't know if I LOVED everything, but we ordered: - Caviar and Polenta - Pasta Pomodoro - Duck Leg - Tiramisu Caviar and Polenta is tiny, comes with two sticks and one can probably be finished in two bites. It was good, and reminded me of lox. The pasta was very average - didn't come with any protein so was just pasta and tomato sauce with parmesan/ricotta. The flavors weren't very in depth, so was disappointed with this one. The duck leg was the better entree out of the two, very buttery and tender with sweet and savory elements. Would recommend this! Tiramisu was really good, would recommend this too! Service was on point, always checking on us and food came relatively quickly - but prepare for a bit of a wait to sit down. We weren't able to get a reservation on short notice, so we took a chance and showed up early since we read walk-ins were welcome. We were enthusiastically greeted, and not having a reservation was not an issue. The server was helpful in describing the menu and making recommendations. My wife chose the fettuccine, and I ordered the crispy duck leg with seasonal vegetables. We each had the green salad with chèvre and sugared pecans. We finished with the tiramisu and the chocolate budino. Everything was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our servers refilled our water promptly and were attentive. The timing of drinks and courses was good, and we didn't feel rushed. The pricing of items was fair. I do not get the hype. After reading so many glowing reviews we made the trek across town to Gigis, waited for our table and ordered a glass of wine. The wine by the glass list is minimal. The wait staff was highly unengaged with the clientele and the service was slow. The focaccia we ordered with our appetizers was forgotten about and then served to us burnt, literally black. We eventually made it to the pasta and though we clearly ordered one of the two pastas of the night they brought us the wrong one. After a few minutes the correct pasta came which I have to admit was pretty good. After finishing the pasta we tried the "world famous" tiramisu, surprise, also burnt! read more

I enjoyed the concept with the mix of flavors but i felt the fish was a bit too thickly cut and possibly old. There was too much vinegar in the marinade. Mains: Pasta: got the fettuccine with the mushrooms. Good portion, light sauce with lemon and cream and nice mix of textures with the crunch of the toasted Parmesan cheese but ultimately nothing special. Duck: the duck was cooked excellently. Perfectly crispy outside with tender meat. The accompanying vegetables were fine, did not think that the butter sauce went with the vegetables served. Very average meal. Was expecting to have had a better experience and much more flavor given what I heard and read and the price. I was a little disappointed that it's called an Italian restaurant, because it has a heavy French/American influence ex: CRAWFISH, ETOUFFÉ. The atmosphere was almost like a bar- meaning the music was 80's, no Italian music, lack of Italian artistry (unless a red and white checkered table cloth is considered Italian). Only pasta available was Fusilli with crawfish etouffe. Not Italian, more Cajun. No antipasti- Brushetta, Crostini or just plain bread. I brought 2 people from Naples Italy and they left early. Very disappointed in the name Italian restaurant. I really try to support local, I do, BUT when the owner responds in a way that they do not appreciate constructive feedback, respond in a flippant manner, completely disregard a paying customer and make light of their experience, it leads me to believe they aren't it in for the right reason. Gigi's has such a special place in my heart!! We stopped in one night when it was still a pop up restaurant and it immediately became our celebration spot. The food is always top tier, and the vibe itself is so cozy and romantic. It's not a sexy midtown restaurant, if that's what you're looking for, but if you want to feel like you just got fed by your Italian grandma then this is the place. Though Gigi's in in my neighborhood, this was my first visit. After many scans of the menu and not being thrilled with the limited offerings, I was persuaded to finally try Gigi's by a foodie friend who deemed it one of her favorites. The ambiance, service, and beverages were quite good but the food was a little underwhelming, IMHO. The Little Italian cocktail was good and strong, and while I didn't order wine the offerings looked solid. We got the green salad and found the blue cheese a little overwhelming (and I like blue cheese). The anchovies were nothing great, though the focaccia was nicely grilled and had a tasty smokiness to it. The Mafaldine pasta was freshly made and had a nice toothy texture, but I thought the sauce was a little salty and one-note. The biggest disappointment was the much-lauded tiramisu. Maybe it's just me, but I like a touch of bitter espresso hints to balance out the sweet richness. None detected in our serving and while it wasn't cloyingly sweet, I thought it was just meh. I might go back and try another night with a different menu, or I might just try someplace else. read more

My date and I shared the caviar and polenta dish, green salad, and both pasta dishes on the menu. The caviar and polenta is a must and will keep you coming back for more! I think some of the reviewers complaining that Gigi's is "not Italian" have a hard time understanding that there are a zillion ways to interpret the country's incredibly diverse culinary history and culture, including its diaspora. Crawfish étouffée over pasta is absolutely Italian, and Cajun too, because many of the great restaurants of New Orleans were and continue to be run by Italian American families. That is just one example, and there are so many others, the common threads being the freshness of ingredients and the resourcefulness of Italian technique. Everything we had was excellent, as usual, the standouts this time being the salad (candied pecans, apples, Asher blue, muscadine vinaigrette), and the radiatore pasta with sweet potatoes and their greens with a peanut pesto (so, so good, and so creative!). Love the interpretations of Georgia's freshest seasonal produce through an Italian lens. Great Amari list, and service too. Will be back again and again! read more
