Updating our prior review with the complete opposite experience of last time. First, let me say our server was amazing and tried her best under very challenging circumstances. We appreciated her attention and really felt for her. But our meal included two rounds of multiple dishes with undercooked massive meatballs (sent back for being raw and returned still raw) , a crab dish missing the crab, and iced tea that was indistinguishable from water. We figured this would be a great spot to take the family for our last dinner on vacation, it was far from great. We made a reservation thinking that we would be sat in the main dining area but as soon as we walked in the door we were greeted rudely by the hostess telling us to shut the door and then they put our table all the way in the back dining room, where there was nobody else sitting. The ambiance was very relaxed but there were cobwebs everywhere over the walls. It's a BYOB thinking that we should just bring our own alcoholic beverages but if you go also bring soda because the soda machine was very flat and gross. We ordered some apps and then some side salads before our dinner the waitress never mentioned anything about how they were probably good to share, she just let us order six of them regardless. The apps were very underwhelming the mozzarella sticks tasted like the were frozen ones from Sysco and the Caesar salads that had croutons on them were so stale and you could smell them stale before even eating them. Our main entrees came out and we got a couple of chicken parm's, eggplant rollatini, and a pizza. The main dishes although were better than the salads and starter apps , they were still very underwhelming and way overpriced for what was given to us. The eggplant rollatini came with three small little rolls stuffed with a dollop of under seasoned ricotta cheese and was a whopping $36. The pizza was a little bit doughy but probably one of the better things we had that night. My whole family would agree to stay far away from this place and is very overpriced for what you get, it's definitely a money grab and a place to try and grab tourists who don't know any better. This place deserves more love. I had a few fantastic meals here and love the outdoor patio with string lights. Always friendly and attentive staff. Very good Caesar salad. Bolognese sauce was meat-filled and very tasty with a cold dollop of ricotta that cut the zest perfectly. Nice sized portion for leftovers. The honey salmon entree was fantastic, nice crispy glaze. Though the sides could have used a little pizzazz. BYOB and plays the old mob hits for ambiance. read more

Gigi's is a seasonal restaurant in their sophomore season. They appear to be on track for the tourist season which is just coming. This place has two separate dining rooms and outdoor area. Jada was our server, super polite. We chose the indoor facility. Prices have really soared, that coupled with gasoline, make this summer season somewhat cautious, hopefully looking positive. The three of us ordered calamari and two special pizzas, a margarita and a white one with spinach. The pies are on the small side(14"). The place is spotless. BYO. Great place. Food was super. Huge portions overall, particularly with the shrimp that were both fresh and individually large. The service was a bit slow but there were many large parties. The ambience was nice. We liked how the rooms were segmented and decorated differently. They had a big segment outside that had a huge number of tables. We came to Gigis after our first choice fell through and I'm so glad we did. Got there early and we were seated right away without a reservation. Our server Sam was very sweet, attentive and helpful. We ordered Gigi's meatballs which were delicious. I had a pizza special which was vodka sauce and meatball...delicious. Mom had chicken vodka parm which she enjoyed. New place on the island. Place is decorated very nicely with some outdoor seating. Staff is friendly and owner Rocco is very personable. Food is outstanding been there twice and tried the pizza which was solid. Had the Chicken Franchise And wife had Veal Parmigiana which was also excellent. Been going to Gigi's since they opened. Often with large groups, so my guests or I have had roughly 3/4 of the menu. Only entree that wasn't liked was the hamburger which is no longer on the menu. Others were solid with a handful of standouts. Prices are definitely higher than average, but it's BYOB; so if you are drinking alcohol most would find the prices acceptable. Main dining room can get loud when crowded, but there are a couple of smaller dining rooms if you're looking for a quiet meal. read more

I always like to give a restaurant a few try's. Well, we gave GIGis 3 try's. The first time both my husband and my dinner was so salty we could not eat it. When the waitress picked up our dishes, she didn't even ask if everything was ok. The second time we bought my Aunt for dinner. Our food was just ok but her chicken parm was burnt to the point she left it. Service was extremely slow but I expect that in the summer. We went back last month and had an 8 o'clock reservation. We were finally seated at 8:25 and sat for 20 minutes and no one came to our table to even take a drink order. By this time it was almost 9 o'clock so we got up and said we were leaving. The hostess just looked at us and didn't even apologize or ask if there was anything she could do. Will not be going back a 4th time. read more

Absolutely one of the best places for gourmet pizza. The Zuppe di Pesce - so good. Their gravy/sauce is authentic and you just want to mop it up with a baguette! Enjoy! For the nay sayers - it's the beach, yes parking can be tough. And yes it's pricey, but seriously a sub / or fast food / fast food or whatever your fancy, costs almost as much. This is real food. The restaurant is nice but the food did NOT meet our expectations. We waited about 20 minutes although we had reservations. The service was good but the food was not good authentic Italian. My sister & I both got salads which were good. The men got dinners and weren't impressed . Mussels tasted llame / no effort put into it except opening a can Of tomatoes sauce - no seasoning . My sister went back again because she couldn't get into any other place. She said it sucked but service was good and cute waiter. read more

I went with 4 of my friends at the end of September for a wonderful dinner. We had Chk. Parm, Veal Parm, Eggplant Parm, Chk. Scarpiello, and linguine with white clam sauce. All was excellent, as was the fresh crisp salad that came with it. The restaurant itself was very clean, atmosphere was very relaxing, and our server was very personable and efficient. We had a reservation for 7:00 and we placed our order of Shrimp Scampi & Chicken Parm at 7:15. My husband asked for soup selections and Claudia our server said they did not have any soups available. Ordered creamy Italian dressing for my salad and she said she would check if the had it. When salad was served it had balsamic dressing, needless to say she added her choice of dressing without checking first. We then waited for our meals which were finally served at 8:35. The Chicken Parm was saturated with sauce over the cheese. I thought that was odd so I removed some of the sauce to find cheese burnt and dried out. The entire dish was dried out and awful. My husband's Scampi was also dried out as if sitting under heating lights to keep it warm. These meals were the worst we ever had. Our server did say they were running behind in kitchen, strange since people seated after us ate and left and we were the last people to leave the dinning area we were sitting in. The only thing we were offered was a glass of warm water and my husband's soda was topped off after he had asked. This restaurant is lacking customer service, has awful tasting food and inadequate service. 1 star is a kind gesture. read more

I dined here last Sunday and had a fabulous meal. The staff members were very welcoming and super helpful with menu selections. The have great bread & oil for dipping to start. Salads were fresh & had a lot of veggies. We had tasty pizzas and the best Chicken parm. We brought home a lot of leftovers. I got there, lady couldn't find my name, went to seat us inside but then was able to get us outside. Great. I think I later regretted that decision because apparently service inside was a little better. Bigger parties seated inside (when we were seated) left before us. Though our waitress was friendly and tried her best the service was poor. The food was just OK, def not good enough to return back. Dropped bread at our table, no plates or silverware. Had to ask. Waited so long for a drink refill, had to ask someone to get our waitress. Kids pasta was swimming in sauce though my son said it was ok. Linguine and clam sauce, pasta tasted overcooked, not the best. Service delays were blamed on an overwhelmed Kitchen however it was obvious that it really depends on who you were. I sat outside with about five other tables And two of those tables had such good service it seemed like the owner was bringing the food out himself. I guess we weren't that important. Bottom line service was very slow and inattentive and food was not good. Even my little guy wanted to get out of there. I asked him if he wanted to stay for dessert and he said no way let's go. It wasn't a great experience, unfortunately. It was incredibly loud so you had to practically yell to talk to anyone at the table. I wouldn't return for the atmosphere alone but the food we had wasn't great. The bread at the beginning on the meal was pretty tasteless, everyone's chicken was quite dry, the salads were drowning in dressing. The server was very nice but the service was very slow. Nice new spot in town. Not impressed with the service. The waiter had to be asked for a bucket for the wine. Every time came over to check on us could not removed a plate from the table he left it all for the one busser in the section to do. The gravy for the bolognese separated as we ate it. To see the oil and tomatoes come apart was not pleasant. Also, when we received our dessert he brought it over with out forks. Proceeded to grab forks from a set that was rolled and pull them out from the tips with his hands then handed to us. Also the place is very loud and had a hard time hearing the person across from me. Don't get the cheesecake either totally frozen. Since we had a bottle of wine I guess the server thought he didn't have to bring us a water. Not my favorite place on the island. read more

Really like the food at Gigi's. The Fig/Prosciutto appetizer is a must have, long-hots aree exactly that, & the mussels were plentiful and cooked in a great sauce. So disappointing. This place will not last if they continue to serve food the way they do. I ordered the chicken savoy and the breaded chicken was burnt. It was visibly burnt black! Can't believe they sent it out like that. I sent it back and they took it off the bill. The waitress said the manager was so upset when he saw how burnt my food was but the manager did not come to the table to apologize. My food was also cold. The pizza is nothing special. Reminds me of Chuck-E Cheese!! The penne vodka sauce tastes like a bad one out of a jar. People who give this place a good rating must not know good food. The food was actually very good. Our waitress was very good, but also seemed very fake. We felt so rushed. I have never felt so anxious eating at a restaurant. The experience was extremely noisy, and it was just us and two other families in the restaurant. The staff was slamming doors and cabinets. We asked to speak to someone in charge, and he came very quickly, but somehow didn't understand our complaint. Told us that if it was busy it would be loud, which we totally get. But this noise was annoying and absurd for what we paid for dinner! Hire help that doesn't air their business about what happened the night before, and I also suggest requiring some longer shorts for the girls serving food. read more
