    Teriyaki chicken and gyoza

Okay I don't do this often! But I tried this place on a whim and was not disappointed! Yes is it a hole in the wall? Yes!! Is it the cleanest? No! But after eating street food in New York I am not afraid! And most of the time the food is best in these not so clean hole in the walls! Did this place go into a clean plate club? Yes absolutely! The chicken was done perfectly! The gyoza was crispy! And the rice was so supple and fresh!

Please note- food was old from yesterday etc. I will never go here again- service was ok at best- Food sucks- example- beef had discoloring all over it. Portions were small and I actually had to throw away the Mongolian beef due to discoloring and poor taste- food was expired and they continued to use. Please do yourself a favor and go someplace else. Value if the food was good- none - small portions for 10-11 bucks you - please note no value here- GO SOMEPLACE ELSE-

This is a local place we have not tried until tonight - not sure why except it is small and sort of hidden amount the buildings. Sweet and sour sauce is great and the egg rolls are delicious for a Teriyaki place. The ambiance is nothing to brag about. The workers - I believe the owner - were what I call Asian Friendly. They were polite and helpful but did not make us feel welcome nor glad you came in and hope you will come back. I will have to try it again but first experience was good.

    Push pin

I straight up found a push pin in my Kung POW chicken. This place should be shut down for something like this. That is beyond careless and I honestly have no idea as to how that could happen. I wouldn't eat here unless you want to take the chance on having something similar in your food.

Spicy Chicken and Mushroomsat Gikan Teriyaki in Milton, WA

Gikan Teriyaki calls it like they see it. Their dish "Spicy Chicken and Mushroom" is exactly that. For those of you who have already mentally checked out for the day, let me explain: It is nothing but chicken pieces, mushrooms, and spicy sauce. None of that crap some other competing teriyaki joints might put in the dish as fillers, like water chestnuts. Water chestnuts in a teriyaki dish are like croutons in a salad -- cheap, tasteless, and utterly useless. Not at Gikan #7. Friendly service and good food.

Tempura, and spicy garlic chicken in the back. :)

Yum! Chicken was perfectly cooked, and teriyaki sauce was really good. Salad dressing was on point. Rice was what rice should be. Satisfied.

I work right next to it so I'm constantly grabbing lunch from here. Ran by a sweet Asian couple and I always order the Beef & Chicken combo.

Eh, they are okay. Nothing special. Not bad. Priced high for me for the amount of food you receive. Only go because it's close.

Tokyo Japanese Steak House was my first teppanyaki experience. They have been around for over 20…read moreyears (originally as Tokyo Japanese Steak and Sushi house), but not sure if there was change in management or if they just got rid of sushi on their menu and rebranded. The interior is HUGE and can easily fit a couple of hundred people if not more. They have a bar in the front and a small resting area, which needs to be bigger to accommodate the people standing around waiting for a table. Despite the size of the restaurant, they only use a quarter of their restaurant at a time, likely because they lack workers. On a weekday evening at around 7pm, we waited over 40 minutes for a table even though there was plenty of seating to be had. Tokyo serves a variety of different meat and combo options including filet mignon, chicken, scallops, ribeye, shrimp, calamari, etc.. Each combo comes with miso soup, side salad (iceberg lettuce with tomato and shredded carrot with ranch) , and a bowl of white rice with the option to upgrade your rice to fried rice for $6 more. They also have complimentary piña colada sherbet for dessert. For my meal, I chose the CALAMARI + SCALLOP combo. For those who have never had teppanyaki before, it's as much about the show as it is about the meal. It's an interesting setup as you and your party sit with other parties around a large grill- it's social dining. After you get your soup and salad, the teppanyaki chef brings his cart over to the table and lights up the grill with alcohol and oil for a fiery opening. He then starts grilling food and puts the food directly on your plate depending on what people ordered. For the first course, the teppanyaki chef grills mushrooms and onions for all. He then flips eggs and makes fried rice. Afterwards, he starts grilling the meat and then grills another round of veggies (bean sprouts and cabbage) for everyone. There are two dipping sauces: A1 Sauce and A2 Sauce. A1 (soy-based) is used for beef and chicken and A2 (mayonnaise-based) is used for seafood. I personally preferred A1 much more than A2 as it was sweeter and less watery. Then again, both sauces fell flat in my opinion. It would have been better if they had provided teriyaki sauce instead. Unlike the usual CALAMARI rings that you get at most restaurants, they grilled a steak of it and cut it up into small pieces. It was moist but kind of rubbery with little taste. The SCALLOPS were better than the calamari, but I can honestly say they weren't super sweet or flavorful either. I tried a bite of my companion's FILET MIGNON and I regret not getting that instead. It was moist, juicy, and tender. Now I know to order steak when I go to another steak house. Portions are generous and I was stuffed by the end of the meal. With that said, prices are between $20-$30 per person and other than the piña colada sherbet, I can't say that I was impressed by the quality of the food; the food was just bland. Our chef, Sonny, was extremely nice, personable, and attentive, putting on a fantastic show for our party. However, as aforementioned, the general service was on the slower side and I definitely wouldn't wait 40 minutes again for a meal. The atmosphere is dark and the music is loud and so you can't really have a conversation with the people around you. The interior is also worn and dated and in much need of a refresh. Overall: 3/5 for food, 2.5/5 for service, 2.5/5 for atmosphere
