    spicy miso ramen

Literally, I would give this place 10/10 if I could. We were recommended this place by a friend! I have eaten at tons of ramen spots, and this is by far my favorite one. I got the Spicy Miso Ramen, and the broth was thick, creamy, and flavorful - this was the first time I had slurped all my broth!! I am SO looking forward to my next visit and have been referring this place to my community to also try !!!

I might have to start driving down to Federal way to satisfy my Menya musashi craving! Menya Musashi is the one place I consistently recommend to Seattle visitors. Their tsukemen is delicious and the black garlic broth is so good. I always get the hybrid or black tsukemen. My one complaint about the Seattle location is how the portion sizes have gotten smaller and the prices have gone up. Portion sizes are not necessarily bigger here, but the price is much better than the capitol hill spot. The menu is also much bigger here and so many items to choose from!

One of my favorite Japanese Ramen spots out here. And located in a random plaza, so kind of hidden. It gets really busy during the weekend.

Menya musashi is one of my favorite places for ramen! Why? The flavorful broth and springy noodles are addicting and hit the spot especially on a cold winter day. This was my first time at the federal way location and it was not too busy making the service quick! We got the yuzu and the mixed ramen! Such a big fan of the yuzu which had a light and bright flavor to the broth and the mixed ramen was a savory and umame flavor that paired so well! They also have coupons available that can be sent to your email so that is a good option to get a few dollars off! The location is in a plaza with tons of parking which made it an easy stop for dinner! Would definitely recommend any ramen fans to come here for a delicious ramen meal!

This is our 3rd time coming here and it was great like the past two times! We got the spicy curry dipping ramen and it is just so insanely good. We tried the green curry this time and it was just okay. Not super flavorful, wouldn't get it again. They changed their ordering system to where you order via your phone vs ordering with a server. It was pretty quick and efficient.

I've been here several times since they opened last year. Service is always great, and there are new or seasonal items often. The inside is fairly spacious. The vibe is casual. Japanese pop songs from early 2000s was playing when we visited. I tried the Yuzu Summer Tsukemen (limited time). First of, I'm pretty sure they used lemon on the plate and inside the dipping sauce. I didn't like the sauce much, it's citrus-y, a little sour, and has small pieces of rind which are bitter. The sauce also tasted grainy, especially towards the end when it got cold. Overall, I still prefer the ramen here (hybrid, curry, etc.) The special combo is a good deal (+$6.5 you get an appetizer and a drink). I like the chicken karaage (3 large pieces) and the takoyaki (4 balls). And I highly spend paying an extra $1 for the melon cream soda.

Unlike many ramen spots that use thin noodles, I really liked that they used slightly thicker noodles here. The broth tasted like a rich, well-simmered stock rather than the typical MSG-heavy ramen you often come across. Their set menu includes a ramen, a side, and a drink for about $20, which felt like a great deal given today's prices. The chicken karaage was perfectly crispy, and it seemed like they used dark meat, making it even more tender and flavorful! The service was also very friendly, and parking was easy and plentiful, which made the overall experience even better.

This was an unexpected delight in Federal Way. Located in a shopping center off a main road and not too far from the highway. We went around 7 PM and the place was packed - a very good sign. The staff, which there were two, were very efficient and friendly. Our server explained the extensive menu options to us - in addition to traditional ramen, they have vegan ramen, as well as tsukemen and bento. With the ramen you can do a combo and include a drink and some kind of small appetizer. We chose popcorn chicken and vegetable potstickers. Everything was tasty. The utensils are neatly arranged on the table in advance. The decor is all based off the samurai-inspired theme.

They opened a location in Federal Way where I've been visiting a good bunch recently? I'm up for that! For this visit, I went with a friend at around 6pm on a Friday evening, and got seated immediately even though most tables were already filled. The interior is relatively spacious, with some small claw machines near the front and some nice wall decorations too. You order through a menu and utensils are provided on your table. I got the hybrid ramen, which is a combination of black garlic oil and some spiciness. For sides, I got the half-and-half takoyaki, in which I got mentaiko and negi ponzu. The tonkatsu broth is so flavorful and the added spice added a rich umami flavor to the whole thing. The pork belly was tender and complimented the soup base, and everything was just so good. I just wish portion sizes were bigger, because I really wanted more of it. As for the takoyaki, I preferred the mentaiko over the negi ponzu though both were really good; the sauce over the mentaiko added a slightly spicy kick to it, and the negi ponzu came with another dipping sauce that added a savory soy sauce-like flavor. Between this location and the Capitol Hill location, both are far from where I usually drive around, but this location has more parking, and I recommend this place for anyone in the area!

Tucked just off the I-5 and hidden a little; I seriously can't believe we never knew this place existed! First impression there's plenty of parking, and the interior is super clean, spacious, and has a really nice vibe. We came by for lunch, got seated right away, and placed our order fairly quick Started off with a couple of appetizers - edamame and takoyaki. Both came out fresh and hot. The edamame had a curry seasoning (I think?) and was a bit salty for me, but my husband was all about it What we ordered: Black Ramen - Rich, creamy broth with a strong garlic flavor. It was a bit much for me, but my husband loved it Spicy Curry Tsukemen - My first time trying dipping ramen, and I'm hooked! The hot, creamy curry broth paired with the cold noodles was so good This place might just become our new go to ramen spot

I can't believe I haven't left a review for Menya Ramen yet! My ramen journey with Menya started back in the COVID days at their Seattle location. I quickly fell in love and would frequently visit with friends. A couple of years passed, and they opened their Federal Way location--much closer to where I live in Tacoma. Now, my partner and I go at least twice a month! Now, onto their food --Menya's ramen is hands down the best in the area. I love the rich, creamy broth and the incredible flavors. I've even heard that their ramen is just like what you'd find in Japan! Their menu is extensive, with a variety of ramen to try. My go-to is the hybrid ramen (a mix of black garlic and spicy broth), and my second favorite is the spicy curry ramen. They also offer a great combo deal--around $6 to add an appetizer and a drink. Menya is always busy, but the wait is never too long! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is great. Definitely give Menya a visit!

My hubby loves this place!!!! He says it was his favorite ramen he's had so far. We have been to quite a lot as well. Especially living in Southern California. Our friend suggested this spot as she frequents it and it was yummy! I loved the spicy ramen and like that they have kids options and utensils. Perfect for little ones. They wish have fun vending machines which my nephew enjoys. The service is quick and thorough. We will definitely return when visiting again. Thank you!

I came to Menya Musashi Tsukemen & Ramen on a Saturday night. It was busy, but I take that as a good sign to stay! I've never had the ramen there before but when I see a line and no empty seating, it must mean that the food is good. It also means that I MUST eat there! There was a kiosk for customers to order food and pay for it on the spot. I like that the kiosk display screen not only had the dish listed but also the photo. Everything looked delicious! I ordered the limited menu item Tantanmen with an egg added to it. It captured my attention because it had Sichuan peppercorn AND chili oil in it. I love the mouth numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorn. The broth was rich and flavorful, and had a good spice to it. My friend ordered the Red Tsukemen with an egg added to it. Although I did not try it, it looked amazing and he said he enjoyed it.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Spicy Negi Ramen (level 4 hot), an order of Gyoza, and an appetizer order of Karaage Chicken. Both of our Ramen bowls were absolutely delicious!! I'm used to eating very authentic Ramen when I lived in San Diego so this was a first for being in this area. It was a great portion size, beautiful presentation and everything tasted so good. I think the egg could've been cooked a little bit less so it would be not so well done so to speak, but it was delicious still. Also, the chicken appetizer was a good, but not as flavorful as some Karaage Chicken I have had. I probably wouldn't order that one again even though it was good, just lacked flavor and was a bit grisly. The service was outstanding. They are very kind and very attentive. The place is very clean. The bathrooms are nicely stocked and very clean as well. The lobby is beautiful and we will definitely be back!

The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?

For the sushi, the tropical roll had a nice addition of mango, but the sweet chili sauce was a little too sweet for my preference, especially for a sushi roll. The Pacific Garden roll had fresh-tasting yellowtail, salmon, and tuna, and I enjoyed the crunch from the asparagus. However, one of my pet peeves is when menus list crab or crab salad in a roll, but it ends up being imitation crab/krab. I really wish restaurants were more straightforward about what they're using, especially because I enjoy real crab, but am not a big fan of imitation crab in sushi rolls. This restaurant used the words crab salad and I thought it meant that they still used real crab in it. The rainbow roll and edamame were just alright. The gyoza was also disappointing because it wasn't crispy and didn't have much flavor. Presentation was another thing that fell a little short for me. I wasn't impressed with the plating, especially with the random pieces of greens on the plate. Overall, the sushi and sashimi had some fresh components(the highlight), but there were a few things that missed the mark for me. Service was just okay and nothing particularly stood out.
