Rainier Roll

this is a favorite for my wife and i!! the salmon nigiri is PHENOMENAL! and all of their sushi rolls are gigantic. we also always get chicken teriyaki to go and it never fails us! we love big boi 4ever!

Newark business in town. Great menu options and nice service staff. One roll and an appetizer was enough to feed two of us with leftovers. Portions are, prices price prices fair. Location is clean. Definitely recommended!

Spicy chicken teriyaki

Sujin was super friendly over the phone and when I picked up my order. Greeted me with a huge smile on her face right when I walked in the door. It was ready within 10 min. Good portions. The orange chicken was our favorite. It had the traditional orange chicken taste with a tang of natural orange that wasn't overbearing. The spicy chicken teriyaki was a bit too sweet and not enough spice. But overall was a great experience and we will be back to try other dishes.

Big Boi is a gem!!! We found it because we were craving teriyaki one day. Although there are a number of teriyaki spots in Federal Way, we come out to Big Boi because it's my boyfriend's favorite spot. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is clean and spacious with cute decor. The portions are HUGE and their teriyaki chicken is textbook perfection. I've also tried their spicy tuna roll combo and was surprised at how delicious their salmon and tuna nigiri is. They provide generous cuts of fish. The salmon has excellent flavor. I'm picky about tuna because I can detect the fishiness at a lot of places. I was very impressed with how fresh the nigiri is at Big Boi. I've also recently tried the salmon poke bowl. Even though I ordered take out, the presentation was beautiful and it's been my favorite entree so far. Highly recommend checking out this new spot and we will definitely be back!

This is such an unassuming place on the outside but this food was amazing. Everything was fresh and while I personally didn't have sushi my boyfriend did. It was made fresh too. The staff was super nice too! I will be back!

I ordered the Mariners roll and crab Rangoon, both were really good. I'm definitely gonna come back and try out different menu items.

Once you find the spot there's no turning back lol. The inside of the place has an amazing atmosphere, the guys that usually make the sushi are friendly and will answer any questions you have. My cousin and I would always come here when we're craving for sushi or whenever we just want to treat ourselves with good food once in a while.

UPDATE: I received a response from someone who identified themselves as the owner/manager. This person took no accountability for the poor behavior of their staff. I was told (among other dissatisfied responses) that they spoke with the server. Not once did they ask where we were seated, so how could you know where we were seated, to know whom exactly of your staff to have that talk with? Very poor encounter from management, and I see why their employees are no different!!

Many people have…read morementioned a high price point, small portions, no options for children, and I must say break down the these issues individually to help you all make a decision to try it out or not. Price Point - There are several meat options served here that are very expensive but we tried it all. My personal favorites were the Spicy Pork Cutlet, the Salmon and Rice Bowl, and the wagyu sirloin skewers. Being from Missouri I knew that the prices would be a bit more than what I was used to but it really wasn't that significant. For 4 people who ordered a little bit of everything, we spent 140$ That's three appetizers, 2 sides, and 5 main dishes. For special occasions, celebrations, corporate dinners, this place seems like a great option. Now, in regard to the portion sizes. Pretty simple explanation, they do feel a bit small. Lastly, do they have options for children? I would say no but that depends on what kind of food your kids eat Hahha. This is more of an adult restaurant not particular organized for kids meals. Overall, I definitely recommend everyone check this place out. The food is so fresh and flavorful. We lived the experience and would definitely come back if we find ourselves in town again.

We ordered the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen, Spicy Negi Ramen (level 4 hot), an order of Gyoza, and an appetizer order of Karaage Chicken. Both of our Ramen bowls were absolutely delicious!! I'm used to eating very authentic Ramen when I lived in San Diego so this was a first for being in this area. It was a great portion size, beautiful presentation and everything tasted so good. I think the egg could've been cooked a little bit less so it would be not so well done so to speak, but it was delicious still. Also, the chicken appetizer was a good, but not as flavorful as some Karaage Chicken I have had. I probably wouldn't order that one again even though it was good, just lacked flavor and was a bit grisly. The service was outstanding. They are very kind and very attentive. The place is very clean. The bathrooms are nicely stocked and very clean as well. The lobby is beautiful and we will definitely be back!

The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?
