Been coming here for 23 years. Have never been unhappy with any doctor or nurse practitioner. This practice took me seriously when I was worried about my two year-old, which led to the discovery of his tumor. They helped me learn and navigate ADHD. They encourage my kids to limit screen time, get exercise, and eat healthier in a positive, effective way. Always have been great with shots as well (and I have a child deathly afraid of them.) This place is the WORST when it comes to medical referrals or any type of care beyond basic well-child checks. If you have a medically complex child please do yourself a favor and avoid this practice, I have been using my neurologist as the primary care in order to receive the proper referrals and communication needed. I wanna start by saying I LOVED Dr. Holdaway. He is the nicest man and pays such close attention to my parent concerns and is so attentive with my child. We went with him from when we she was born to now her being almost 2. I would recommend him a THOUSAND TIMES. Why I gave 3 stars.... The billing department doesn't verify insurance. I work in a front desk environment and always verify insurance when a new insurance card is given/beginning of the year or new patient. They don't. And then once they figure that you aren't in network or something is wrong they don't tell you. They keep on keeping on until you get a HUGE bill in the mail. My child had 2 visits before I was even aware that my new insurance wasn't in network. and yes they adjusted it a little but the whole problem could have been avoided if they had 1. Told me after the first visit or 2. Had verified my insurance before billing. I had to change my daughter to a different place because of all of this which sucked cuz again Holdaway is amazing. Dr. Brett Holdaway has provided us with top-level of support and patience since we moved to Gilbert and I am so glad we have him as our pediatrician. The front office is also super responsive and got us in the same day within the hour when our daughter was sick. The main reason that I choose a pediatrics office is for the doctor. Being new to the area and having a sick child, I was anxious to find a kind doctor who took him time with patients and parents. After seeing Dr. Jacks, I am happy to say that I have found the pediatrician for my kids. Going with four stars because Dr. Jacks is wonderful but the office needs work and care. New books for the individual patient rooms is a must, as well. Both my four year old and twelve year old we're counting ceiling tiles while we waited. There are separate sick and well sections and a movie was playing but I think it waiting dolma should put a child at ease and make him/her forget where they are at and the possibility that needles could be on the horizon. Puts some effort into the little things and I think this practice has a bright future. read more

First off, Lynn, the nurse practitioner is phenomenal. However, Dr. Xin Tan is NOT. When taking my daughter to see her regarding what turned out to be an upper respiratory infection, she provided minimal care. She did not do a thorough exam. She rushed us out of the office and told us to get a chest x-ray. She did not have a conversation to really understand my daughters symptoms, did not explain WHY we should get an x-ray, and did not give us feedback of how to treat these symptoms at home. Then I was sent a bill after I called to discuss how I was unimpressed with the care we received. Nobody at that office cared that I had to take my daughter to yet another doctor at another office to actually receive treatment (two payments). I would NOT recommend Gilbert Pediatrics to you. I would absolutely not recommend this place. I'm very angry that I was lied to about the cost of having my baby tested for whopping cough. I told the doctor I am a cash pay patient and she said to ask the front desk for the price to have his cheek swabbed and tested. So I asked and I was told it was included in the cost of my visit, only to receive a $200 bill weeks later for the test. I might have done it anyway even though the doctor didn't seem concerned or think he had it (I was paranoid) but I am really angry that I was lied to and not given the option to decline or go somewhere else cheaper to have the testing done. Also, I missed an appointment one time and I called to confirm it (I thought It was the next day but I found out it was really the previous day). They made me pay for the cost of half of two visits. (I just had a baby at the time and was having both my kids back to back check up visits). They don't have any grace whatsoever. They don't care. In my profession as a hairdresser I would never do that the first time. ESPECIALLY for an accident and my client were to call me. But apparently if you are providing a medical service you can hide behind the billing department and not have to talk to your patient face to face as to why you are charging them! read more

My son had an ear infection, We normally see Dr. Carrol who we love but to get in sooner I made an appointment with Debbie Howard. I Have never been treated so poorly. She clearly didn't care about my children or their health. She took about 4 seconds to check my sons ears and said yep he has an ear infection and was walking out the door. I didn't even know what antibiotics she was ordering (Which can range from $12-80.) I asked if she could check my other two sons just Incase. Since it seems super quick and easy to check. Instead, I got a lecture on needing to schedule the other boys for an appointment beforehand. Which is fine. but for the time it took her to lecture she could've check the other two kids ears and added them to the schedule to be charged. she also told me I'd have to wait while she went to other patients or make another appointment Unfortunately My kids were already being fussy so waiting wasn't an option. Anytime I leave the house it takes ALOT of work with 3 babies under 2 Years old. Im really disappointed she couldn't spend more then 2min in the the room with us. If it weren't for the great pediatricians here I would never come back again. The front staff is a joke. So unhelpful. First time I came in They told me they called my insurance company to check if shots and well checks were covered... They told me there was no charge. Last time I went in they told me I have a bill of $1132 or so... WHAT?! Are you kidding me?! Then they said since my insurance changed to call my insurance company (as I wait in their dirty lobby that looks like they haven't cleaned since they got there) and make sure everything is covered. Umm... Isn't that your job? Isn't that why you sit there at the front desk?? Tip to the crew. Smile. Don't be rude. Mop the floor at least once a month. It's disgusting. And call our insurance company and actually make sure what you tell us is what we owe. read more

I've been bringing my son here for over 3 years and I've always had a positive experience. We just love Dr. Guthrie. He has wonderful bedside manner--he's very knowledgeable, kind, understanding and very willing to answer questions in a respectful manner. We've also seen a few other doctors/PA's/NP's when he wasn't in the office and they have all been great. I also love the twilight pediatric hours. We've used that a few times. This place is gross. Everything is outdated and looks dirty. The front office staff is unfriendly and they sent me really nasty collection letters about my circumcision debt and told me they would no longer care for my son even though medicaid was paying ALL the visit bills. He not only cares about his patients but also the parents because he always checks in with my husband or myself and asks what he can do for us as well. Besides Auxier we have also taken our kids to see Dr. Leavitt when we needed a walk in visit when kids were sick. It's a great place overall and the staff is always friendly and helpful. read more

I've been taking my 5 (now 4) kids here for 11 years! I really miss Dr Jones. He was the best pediatrician I've ever had. Just took whatever dr they assigned us since he left several years ago. My kids aren't sick much so it was hit and miss. Finally hit on Dr Jacks HE IS FABULOUS. BUT, I can't handle any more the rudeness of the staff when you call or when you try to set up an appt. We have now been seeing Dr. Tim Jacks at Gilbert Pediatrics for almost 2 years now. We are so incredibly happy that we took our son here after needing to find a new doctor. Dr. Jacks listened to our developmental concerns about our son when he was 18 months old and didn't dismiss us. He got us into a research program at SARRC where my son saw a developmental psychologist every 7-8 months and was eventually given an Autism diagnosis. Now, our son is doing so much better because he was able to get a swift diagnosis and acceptance into the necessary services he needs. I've seen so many horror stories, which could have easily have been us, about parents not being able to get an appropriate diagnosis for their child and having to wait 18 months or more to see a developmental specialist. We are so grateful for all that he has done for us and highly recommend Dr. Jacks and the rest of the doctors at Gilbert Pediatrics. Their aftercare clinic Good Night Pediatrics has saved us numerous urgent care visits and copays. read more
