Beautiful place to take the kiddos after a long day. Nothing bad to say about this park- it's clean and natural.

What a wonderful park! We've come here multiple times to play tennis and basketball and the courts are extremely well maintained. Keep in mind that all of the sports courts are on a first-come, first-served basis! We really appreciate that there are push-button controls for the lights for when it gets too dark - great if you want to play in the evening. There's also some dedicated shade and seating on the courts - perfect for resting in between games. There's plenty of parking all around which is always a good thing. It gets a little busy during the early mornings and evenings but that's expected. This is a huge park so there are plenty of things to do. There's swings, slides, tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, pickleball, splash pads, picnic tables, CLEAN bathrooms, a lake for fishing and strolling, an amphitheatre and many other offerings. This is a great place if you're looking to spend some time outdoors and is suitable for all ages. read more

I grew up in the 80s. I remember in the 90s they started taking out playground equipment that was "dangerous." Gone were the monkey bars, the dome climber, teeter-totter, and the wooden play equipment. I was kind of like WTF. But that was how it was - kids are going to have top find ne ways to hurt themselves from now on. I trusted my younger brethren to get this life mission done without the equipment that was available to me. Enter the Gilbert Regional. I think whomever designed this place grew up in the 80s. The underlying theme at this park is bringing back the danger they grew up with. How about a vertical wall with hand holds that goes nowhere so kids have to bail off a 10ft wall? Build it. How about a concrete slide that lets you go 45mph into a pile of sticks? Build it. How should we get people to the equipment - maybe on even ground like every other playground? Nah, make every path at least 60 degrees so you have to hunker down like a monkey and scramble up. Should we'd build a safer route, maybe a winding stair for those who can't climb the inclines? Yes, but make one side a cliff. What about the materials to use, boss? If it can't heat up to 300 degrees in the Arizona sun, use it. F'k em, if they burn they can go soothe their wounds in the splash pad. I am a bit of an adrenaline junky. I dont like the culture of shielding kids from everything. But I'd be lying if I told you this place feels safe. If I'm totally honest I'm actually shocked that the city allowed this to be built in today's safety oriented and sue-happy society. With all that said, the place has some pretty cool things here. I just feel like in some places the designers went out of their way to make it dangerous. Kids are stupid and dont always think what they are doing and with some of the features wont help with that careless nature of kids. read more

Beautiful spankin new park for the public with pickle ball, Vball, and my favorite sport of all time, tennis! There are ample supply of all courts! I played tennis Monday evening and there were lots of open courts available. Hopefully there are ample open courts every night of the week. Their Vball courts are super awesome too! The sand feels like I want to dive for every dig just so I can roll in that silky soft sand! Don't mind if I use ur beautiful facility from here on out Gilbert Regional Park! read more

Great, huge, park! Our daughter loves coming here. We also like attending the music at the outdoor concert hall. This park was definitely thoughtfully laid out and is really engaging for both kids and adults. Parking can be a challenge so keep that in mind especially if you are going there for an event. read more

Fantastic during a week day. We went in September on a Wednesday afternoon. Both the splash pad and the playground were fairly empty. The splash pad is awesome. There are so many water features for the kids to play with. And I loved that there was plenty of shaded spots for the parents to sit. The splash pad is also gated which is a huge plus in my opinion. The park itself was very clean and well-maintained. Gorgeous views of mountains on either side. There is a beautiful lake and nice walking trails that are paved. The playground is awesome. There is a smaller playground at the base that is appropriate for toddler aged children. Then there is a three-tiered playground with an awesome climbing structure at the top and various slides for the kids to enjoy. This is truly a spectacular park. Plus it's free!! read more

First time here. Visiting family from California. My family and I just went for a stroll around the park. It was really nice. The playground was still lit on a Saturday night with kids and family. There was a party on one of the Ramada, heard you can rent it out. Seems like a great place to host a park party. My fur baby was with me as well and enjoyed the stroll. Also, there were sports/play areas. Didn't really get to check up close. My cousin did say he enjoyed playing basketball there. read more

What a great opening day experience! My family loved working up a sweat in the play area and cooling down on the amazing splash pad.

Great park if you have kids, play basketball, or play pickleball. Not so good if you fish as the red algae and dead fish are front and center. Great for picnics as shelters, some with fans overhead, are abundant. If you prefer to be around humans wearing masks this is not the park for you. We spent a lot of time dodging and weaving. We will be back after COVID is reduced. read more

This is one awesome park!! The whole place is like a giant obstacle course, the kids love it. Splash pads, playground, swings, climbing areas, sand, tables etc. it's got everything you need. We had a birthday party here and it was great. read more

This is an amazing park with so many fun play structures! It's great for any age, and the smaller playground at the bottom of "the hill" is perfect for toddlers! I love that the swings and zip line have accessible seating options so all kids can join in! read more

The park is amazing! It offers clean bathrooms, tons of activities for the kids, and a great outdoor choice for this area. However, during Covid I would avoid this place. No one wears a mask and the playground easily has over 100 people on it even during an afternoon week day. read more

The splash pad is just the best. Free, and it's much, much better than a water park for little kids. Great for birthdays and kid-friendly get-togethers. The playground is pretty good, too. read more

I was amazed at the size of the park, the upkeep and the wide variety of activities for kids of all ages to do.

Place is going off! Great players and excellent family spot. Good facilites and great people everywhere.

Very happy with the new park! We decided to go on a Friday night, around 5pm. I've heard it's super busy, so we wanted to go later and avoid the crowd. So many places to sit, but be warned the place is big. Keep an eye out for your children as there is a parking lot also in the back which makes me very nervous about predators. We brought pizzas and sat under a Ramada. They have everything from zip lines to slides. Great addition to Gilbert! read more

This park is not finished at all. We are currently at phase 1 and every time I go there it's packed full of children. A community with children is a healthy community. There are onsite bathrooms for the public and sitting area for the adults as you want kids to be social and interact with other kids. The splash pad was active and I know they will figure out all the bumps in the road with drainage of the water. This will be a huge development and a big win for the city of Gilbert community. Gilbert Regional Park is a good time. It's small for a regional park but the kids seem to have a great time. There isn't enough covered seating for parents. Plenty of covered picnic tables. Hopefully the Town will continue to expand the park. read more

I was here for the grand opening on Saturday with my three grand children and they loved it!! The splash pad was awesome big and roomy with lots of fun devices there are two play areas one for smaller children and an other on top with slides and zip line plenty of places to sit and watch the kids plenty of bathrooms the park is very well designed. Only negative was the dog poop I love dogs but not peeing and pooping where children play I hope the dog park portion is build next so they can have their own space to play read more

I had heard rave reviews when it first opened and today stopped in with the kiddos. Wasn't impressed the splash pad was fine except there is clearly an issues some where with all the puddles around the splash pad and the stagnant puddles of water by the sitting around put off a terrible smell it was bad and continued to get worse there was a few kids playing in it. Other then the smell the kids enjoyed themselves. I hope that the issues gets fixed because it's going to be an awesome park ! read more

Gilbert Regional is an amazing park. They have an amphitheater for music/performances, splash pad, fishing lake, walking trail around the lake and tons of playground equipment to keep the kids busy. I recommend a bright colored shirt for your 5 and under kids as it makes it much easier to keep an eye on them. read more

The first thing I said when I saw this park was how much is the annual pass? Well there is no annual pass and it's FREEEEEE! Wait whatttt? I'm used to parks this big in Cali coming with a fee just to get in! The first thing you see as you drive in is multiple tennis courts which seem to be full of people playing. Then you come up on the huge play structure full which even has a huge splash pad area for the summer time. There's also a huge pond which you can walk around and even fish in it. I did see multiple dead floating fish so if I were you I wouldn't be catching any fish who knows what's going on with that. Besides dead fish this place is beautiful! In the distant you can even see the San tan mountains? (I'm still super new to this area so I'm learning LOL). This park is about 2 miles from my house so I'll be going here a ton! read more

The park (phase 1) is really nice. There are a lot of options for the kids and the Ramada's are right on the sides of the playground. My only gripe is, all the play areas are shaded but the benches and tables with chairs for the parents have NO shade. I get it, playgrounds are for children, BUT us parents should be accommodated also. I look forward to seeing the rest of the park once it's finished. read more

Pickleball courts are super nice. Just get there early and make sure you know the rules.

My daughter loves this new park not to far from home and it offers a lot of fun equipment for the kids. We have gone about 3 times so far. Never had a issue with parking. It has been crowed the last 3 time we have gone but I'm going to chuck it up to newness and also kids are out of school only thing I wish is that it was more shaded and closer seating for parents read more

After over 23 years of being a Gilbert resident, I'm so happy that we are getting this huge, new and innovative park that is Gilbert Regional Park. I'm just going to review based on what I saw and experienced so far with Phase 1A being completed as of 3/2/2020. I plan on updating this as the entire park is finished, which I cannot wait for!!! So I want to start off reiterating how excited I am for this new park! However, I wish I had known the extent of the walking trails and everything that Phase 1A of completion entailed. Currently, I am either using a walker or wheelchair due to my back injury that's been ongoing for a few years. So my perspective heavily lies on accessibility and the availability of evenly paved trails/sidewalks. My mom and I frequent parks all over the valley with our dog! So it's fun to check out different places but now I always have to keep these things in mind when searching out a new park. Phase 1A has slides and a splash pad only with a tiny paved area just around that play area! The play and splash pad areas are so nice, new and look really fun!! So If you are going to the park for just slides and the splash pads, this is a great one! The slides are huge as is the splash pad area. Everything is super nice, clean and new! This includes the bathrooms, they are very sparkly, I hope they stay that way!! If you are coming here to walk around, walk your dog, have a picnic or bike I would not recommend it yet. The paved sidewalks only gave us about a 5 minute or less walk. There were also only 3 small Ramada areas that I could see. I'd also like to note that there is a ton of construction and dust which is to be expected while they are building the next phase of the park but would just like to mention that to those with allergies as a precaution. There are also two small parking lots with I believe only one entrance. Can not wait for this to be finished especially the water park area!! But I thought I'd share some of the construction photos so far! read more

This is a nice park but not our favorite. I have a 3.5 year old and an 18 month old. The proximity of the two playgrounds is not ideal while you have one child on one playset at the top of the hill and one in the toddler area down below. It is just not safe to have a child out of your line of sight. My oldest was bored with the lower playground immediately. There is also a back drop from the hill the top playground sits on. Maybe I read too much true crime or maybe I am a helicopter parent. Regardless, I see the back side of this hill as an easy route for your child to disappear. For that reason, we will not be regulars at this park except for the splash pad. It is somewhat large and open. It is also gated which makes it easier to keep track of your kids. This park is extremely lacking in shade. The only trees that exist at this time are palm trees. Parking is lacking as well. If you get there after 9am on a week day, you will have to circle for a while til a spot opens. I've been told weekends are much worse. I would recommend Mansel Carter Oasis over this park. read more
