My favorite spot in Arlington hands down!! Everyone needs to try Gilberto's if you haven't gone your missing out! From the moment you walk in Jose(the hypeman cashier) makes u feel at home. He takes pride in his job he delivers the best customer service I've experienced at any location. Items I've had: Chimichanga, Nachos, chili verde and the tacos. You definitely get ur money's worth forget about portion control because you'll have more than enough to take home. The chicken chimichanga was delicious I had it with rice and beans it came served with guacamole and sour cream the tortilla they used for the chimichanga was soooo flaky it was just perfect. The nachos were out of this world you had layers and layers of beans, sour cream, guacamole, and most important carne Asada. The chili verde was probably my least favorite but that's probably because I don't like pork meat however the green salsa they used has great flavor I had it with flour tortillas and rice. I had 2 chicken tacos preparados and they were good but to be honest I wouldn't get them again because I'm obsessed with the burritos and guiso. Love this taco shop, best Barbacoa in town. I'm a big guy 6' 2" 225 lbs. big but not fat and I burn lots of calories at work. I look for places that serve generous portions. Last time I had the 3 street tacos and it was plenty filling and satisfying. I was really hungry today so I up the challenge. I ordered a Barbacoa buritto. OMG that thing was huge! I think it weighed more than the barn cat. I failed in my mission to finish it. I threw in the towel with 1/4 remaining. Still the same top quality meat and hardy any fat at all. Delicious wjth a little of their green salsa drizzled on top! Just with what I brought home I have enough Barbacoa for two breakfest tacos in the morning. First time here and the last! :( The food was so BLAND! I had the taco salad and all the topping were lacking flavor. The meat was so greasy which made the hard shell very soggy. The lettuce was not fresh and it did not come with rice nor tomatoes. This was a bad experience. read more

I'm a California native and Gilbertos remind me of an authentic restaurant in. Cali Albertos. Gilbertos has a variety of great food for Breakfast Lunch and Dinner. My favorite is the bacon, egg and potato burrito. However I also love thief Carne Asada nachos. read more

I tried this place because someone's review said it tastes like Cali Mexican food and I have to strongly disagree. I got carne asada tacos which was the most disappointing. It lacked seasoning & flavor in general. Paid for guac and got whipped avocados instead... guac is not just avocados! Where's the tomatoes? Onions? Cilantro? That's guac. Paid for extra limes. Got a bag full of lemons. The birria tacos were ok I guess. Again flavor just wasn't there. I originally wanted delivery but the delivery menu on Grubhub doesn't even have the birria tacos on it. When I called, I was told it had to be ordered over the phone. So would I recommend this place? Unfortunately not. I kind of feel like I wasted my money. I give up on trying Mexican food in Texas.
