This is a very busy restaurant trying to get info over the phone was difficult, so I recommend that you go in person to make your arrangements. The banquet menu offers a lot to choose from at a reasonable cost. We we're able to decorate a couple of the tables and the rest were already arranged with place settings for our party of 30 guest when me and fiancé arrived. From the menu we choose , family style service of the mostaccioli and chicken marsala with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Because we had a couple Vegans attending Flip assisted with assigning the kitchen to fix them vegetable platters without dairy products. There were mixed reviews from the guest about the food but mostly positive. I personally don't suggest the mixed vegetables, they were mushy, overcooked. Everything else was tasty. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Drew our banquet waitress was very accommodating and patient. She even complimented me for hosting such a really nice event. I live near here and have tried their takeout pizza before (50% off on Mondays!). I decided to dine in this time. The interior is huge with a private room, large bar, and covered sunroom-type area. Great place to watch games as there are TV's everywhere. Visited around 5 PM on a Saturday and was seated immediately. Kid-friendly place as there were several families with young children. I ordered the Morning burger and my husband ordered their Seafood Sautee over linguine with garlic sauce. His dish was very tasty. My burger was a little overcooked, but still good. I always enjoy a visit to Gilbert's Lodge, it's a local staple for a good variety of options in a casual atmosphere. Which by the way is an "up north" log cabin type of atmosphere with antler light fixtures, grizzly bear paw prints leading up to the door, and a live action working miniature train up on the ceiling surrounding the restaurant. During Covid-19 staff wore masks and ample space between diners. Love their hamburgers. Can count on them to serve an ordered medium-rare burger. We were really impressed with the quality of food, we had the bang bang shrimp tacos and my husband had a burger. The tacos were delicious and hubby loved the burger. I really liked the set up of the bar, it looks like a great place to watch a game. The only problem I had was the bartender seemed annoyed with us sitting at the bar to eat. She wasn't even mildly friendly, which is a drawback imo. Also, it was obvious that the tacos used to be three to an order, but they only serve two, which seems like a standard post-Covid, money gouging technique that most restaurants have employed. Went yesterday. Literally the only meal I had yesterday. I had mushroom chicken. Woke up at 1am it felt like someone was kicking me in the stomach. Had to take the day off to recover and I was pretty ill for 24hrs. I called the restuarant just to inform them and instead of apologizing and offering to make sure everything in the kitchen was ok and everyone was wearing gloves or washing hands line I suggested the woman was argumentative and combative. Oh we have been serving it all day and your the only one to Complain blah blah blah. So ZERO as far as customer service but yelp makes you give at least 1 star. First of all we patronize Gilbert's many times in the month. There are many good things: The wait staff always good, kind and on the ball. The food: some stuff is iffy, the Taco salad, lots of lettuce and little bitty meat (flavorless, taco meat, dry, clumpy). Ribs, a definite "no way" cooked ahead, but then reheated in pizza oven. mostly everything else is fairly good, great Buck wings! Drinks; margarita, bartender doesn't have clue on how toske a decent one, they tend to use a diluted mix which ends up tasting like diluted lemonade! I usually stick to bottled beer, safer that way. Environment: Clean enough, but the carpet is a major trip factor, for heavens sake, please remove that dirt disaster waiting to happen Put down tile, we can get carpet in a five star restaurant yours just degrades the place. They let you build your own bar BMs & their brunch menu has yet to fail us. We love going here for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. I was working in Grosse Pointe and he needed to be in Warren so me met East side for lunch. It can be hard to find places that are open for lunch amid COVID. Many places don't open until 3 or 4 and that greatly reduced your choices. We went through and tried a variety of places and then settled on Gilbert's. It was only a mile from me. They opened at noon and I was there a little early and was surprised to see all of the cars in the parking lot. I got nervous because with 25% capacity, that can easily be reached quickly. Luckily we were able to get a table because Gilbert's is quite large. This is a place I frequented a lot in my youth but haven't been back much since I moved. I have been to a couple of events in the back room but that's it. Gilbert's is set up to look like a lodge or cabin. It was kind of perfect for the snowy day we were having. Our waitress was quick, friendly, and attentive. He ordered a half chicken Caesar salad and I ordered this very delicious Gilbert's Chicken salad. I will eat just about anything that contains bacon and cheese. The salad was amazing! We are cutting carbs, so unfortunately our bread sticks were wasted but they looked so yummy! I came for a carry out, because I know better. No place to park for carry out only. Why?! This needs to be a thing here. So... I park near the front door to run in. Not something I want to do, but like I said, they don't accommodate carry out parking. I left plenty of space for cars to get by. Still had to deal with an entitled Karen briefly. Spending time in Saint Clair Shores gave us an opportunity go back to one of our old stomping grounds Gilbert's Lodge back in the day it was called Gilbert's Lounge but needless to say they have always been known for they're great burgers and a multitude of other items on their menu including their soups and chili. I was particular visit we ordered the classic Gilbert's Burger and the stuffed portobello mushrooms the Burger came cooked perfectly on a fresh Bun with all of the fixings as usual we ordered it with grilled onions which puts the burger over the top. The stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer definitely the star of the show it was a complete meal all stacked on top of a portobello mushroom it is an amazing appetizer or an amazing meal depending on your hunger level. The service Gilbert's was very good especially during a time like this when good service is hard to find in most restaurants Gilbert's does a wonderful job keep doing what you do and we will keep coming back. read more

I remember going to this place growing up as a kid and every time my family and I tried to go back recently there was remodeling being done thanks to the fires. Place is nicely finished. Very homey and camp feel to it with the log stick chairs and cabin feel throughout. I'm going to start out by saying how awesome the service was on this particular visit today. It's been a really long time that I have been to a restaurant and have had excellent service throughout the visit. Our waitress answered all of our questions, made sure we always had refills and checked on us pretty often, but not too often where it was too much. My family started out with saganacki and wisconsion cheese fries. Holy crap! The waitress suggested the cheese fries and we are all glad we got them. Large enough to share! We had a party of five and we didn't even finish half. The cheese fries are waffle fries baked with cheddar cheese and topped with chopped bacon, scallions and sour cream. So. Dang. Good! We brought leftovers home! I was pretty full before my entree arrived but I did end up eating some of my meal and I had pulled pork sliders. Soft fresh bun. Pulled pork pilled high with cheddar cheese and fried onion strings. 3 sliders served and side of sliced pickles. Not bad for $7.49. I also tried my Mom's spinach artichoke quesadillas. They are just what they are said to be. Tons of cheese, spinach artichoke dip and pico de gallo filled inside flour tortillas served with salsa. Definitely not something I have had before but really yummy! best part was the quesadilla wasn't soggy at all. Plenty of seating and TV's throughout. We received our meals within 15 minutes of ordering. No issues and everything was made correctly and everything was piping hot. Daily specials, happy hour and trivia on Tuesdays. Walking into this place for Sunday brunch, I was a bit unenthusiastic it would be typical bar food and your average server. It took us about 10 minutes to find a seat we liked (thank god the hostess was so patient with us). After we were seated are waitress approached us in good time and was also patient with us while we waited for the rest of our party. She was super diligent and friendly and was great the whole time. We started with bloody Mary's, the house recipe is absolutely delicious and they had so many options at their bar! I would 100% recommend! For the food, everyone but (1) enjoyed their meal. Please see my photos! The only meal I wouldn't recommend trying from them would be the deep fried French toast sticks. THEY WERE WAY TOO OBNOXIOUS. And way too sweet! We came here for lunch the other day, and expressed to the waitress that we were in a rush due to having to get back to work. The waitress was very attentive. The pretzel logs were delish, however, the did arrive cold, and I had to wait even longer for them than I would have preferred. I had the sliders for my meal, which were also delicious. On January 26, 2024 a group of coworkers went to Gilbert's Lounge for food and beverages. We had a group of 12 and Melissa was our waitress. right from the beginning she was very unfriendly, cold and rude. Her facial expressions said it all. She was having another bad day and took it out on her guest. This is not the first time we've had her as our waitress. She made it very clear that she wanted us to leave. We did nothing to receive this treatment. We stayed a bit longer and ordered a carry out and another drink. I gave her my card to pay for my bill, as she returned it she threw my receipts and card on the table and said, "Here's your receipts". When we left I mentioned to her that we were leaving and her response was "Screw You". I did speak to the manager that was there that evening. I hope that this gets addressed. I was there yesterday afternoon seated at the bar and had Mel (Melanie), as our bartender/server. Where did you find this one? She was absolutely a joke! Didn't remember anything, didn't come around enough, left our service area messy throughout, busy talking to others that weren't even ordering. Unbelievable! She knocked over the condiment items above our plate area....I just left the mustard and pepper there next to my drink to see how long it would take her to put it back in the tray.
