I love a good breakfast! Especially a scratch me one and this one was giving all the southern comfort vibes complete with a stack of pancakes and some amazing homemade grits! The coffee was hot and the bacon was crispy, my waitress was hysterical. This is a great spot for brunch. read more

What a lousy breakfast sandwich! Asked for a two pork roll egg and cheeses with extra cheese, got bacon instead of pork roll. When I opened up the sandwich, no cheese was spilling out, the cheese wasn't even on the tinfoil. Not sure how they measure cheese by the square but I got skimped and paid almost $19 for both. The ratio of bread to the insides was sad and needs help. For $19 I could have made two monster sandwiches with extra to feed. The sandwich in general was weak and couldn't taste the one egg on the sandwich, just the bread. This is not the first time this has happened to me and I hope this review will help the next person who orders a breakfast sandwich. read more

This spot serves my favorite breakfast in the world and has had me coming back for years. The servers are always so friendly and keep your coffee cup full the entire meal. The food is breakfast perfection. The food comes out hot and fast, my eggs are always cooked just right and the potatoes are soft and tasty. They also always get my side of scrapple crispy just how I like it. The blueberry pancakes are the best I've ever had. The restaurant is quaint and feels like home. If you're familiar with the Gilchrist location in Atlantic City, then you already know where this is going. The food is GOOD. They're going to be some of the best pancakes you're ever going to have. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is super friendly and personable. Going here, I was a little worried that the food wouldn't be as good as the AC location, but that turned out to be a non issue. And in fact, the staff was WAY nicer than the staff at the AC location, no doubt due to the fact they this location is a little more low key. Don't let that confuse you though, they are still packed, and we got there just in time, because as soon as we sat, every other table filled up in minutes. I unfortunately was not super impressed with Gilchrist Offshore Restaurant. The service was great and everyone there was very nice and helpful, but the food wasn't anything special. The pancake part of the menu says they are the "best you'll ever have" and I definitely did not feel that way. The bacon was also a bit strange and not what I was expecting. My sister got the PREC sandwich and she really liked it. My mom got the egg whites, scrapple and potatoes and thought it was okay. There's nothing necessarily wrong with any of the food we ordered, but it was just average. I don't think I will return. The parking lot is a bit of a nightmare with the busy roads nearby so be careful pulling in and out! read more

I've only had breakfast here so I can't speak in the lunch platters but you can't go wrong with the breakfast. They take credit cards now which is convenient. They have an additional room in the back for seating as well. Be mindful of the hours because they are a breakfast/brunch spot so they close early afternoon. Friendly staff and fast service. Very well know local breakfast establishment, if you're from the area.. you've most likely heard of Gilchrist. No frills breakfast restaurant. Pancakes are always a hit here, they're huge! Service was great, sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. Only downside of sitting outside is hearing the noisy traffic on route 30. Parking could be a little better too, not many spots.
