It's a typical small town in the middle of nowhere bar the layout was a little bit weird, a little too open not very inviting. The pizza was pretty bad I have to say they put cheddar cheese on pizza who does that you make pizza with mozzarella and they just threw a bunch of weird toppings on top. Unfortunately there's not much of a selection in Timbuktu so your options are limited so this is one of the 5 bars or restaurants in the area so it's worth a try if you want to. Drinks were great, service fabulous. Shrimp broiled dinner don't recommend, super chewy and overcooked. Onion peels are good...husband had fish all you can eat and he stopped at 1 pieces cause it was rubbery, don't think it was cooked all the way. Very noisy inside and out. We were seated inside and although there are only a few of us inside one guy was swearing and yelling at the football game on TV at the top of his lungs. We moved outside which helps some although it was still quite noisy. The food was just OK bar food. read more

My family was looking for a last minute reservation for 24 of us. My Grandma had passed away and we wanted a place to be together. I called at 4:30 to make a 7:00 reservation and was taken care of immediately. Our server Jenny was awesome. She was friendly and super hard working. We would come back to Gilligans in a heartbeat. First time eating there while on vacation. Seated promptly but waited over 10 mins for our waitress to come to our table. The place was not that busy, so I don't know why it took so long. It is a bar but wasn't that loud when we were eating. The tables were very sticky and I saw the hostess spray a bit of windex which didn't help the situation at all. The food was a bit pricey for our taste but the food was delicious so that made up for it. After we were done eating the waitress drops off the check and never asks if we would like more drinks, refills or deserts. My husband refused to us the men's bathroom because it smelled horrible. He said there was urine on the floor and very dirty. read more

Excellent service! Delicious Jerk wings on Wednesday, and the sides of waffle fries, onion peels, and other sides were also very enjoyable. There was a sign up that said the air conditioner was not working, but thankfully it was a relatively cool evening or I would've left. Fun vibe as soon as you walk in. Cool staff, nightly specials, lots of tv's to watch games and usually some kind of raffle or game happening. Plus, during the summer, they usually have a band playing in the patio. I love that its right on the lake. We usually park our pontoon on the docks out front and walk right up. If its your birthday, they used to give you a mug, free drink, etc. Not sure if they still do. They also offer Team Trivia, which is a lot of fun. Their food prices are on the higher end, but you shouldn't be disappointed with most of their dishes. The pizza is always a good choice. If you're in Chetek, make this your first choice for dinner. read more

Pretty good food! Worth a stop-in. Get there early on Wednesdays because it's wing night and are going to be packed (esp if outside seating is unavailable due to weather). Their gourmet curds and their endless wings were delicious. Expect to spend ~$15-20 per person especially if you enjoy alcohol. read more

Sports bar & grill. If you wanna watch The Big Game, this is the place--numerous screens showing multiple different games--baseball & football games on when I was there early Sat. evening. Small salad bar replenished, even hovered over, by staff often. Friendly, young staff (male & female). TVs sound *not* playing, which is a GOOD thing. Thank you. Sangria good, but rather weak. Split giant prime rib special with spouse & it was plenty for us both @ $16. Oilcloth tablecloths, wood floors, every beer ad imaginable on walls. read more

Super friendly staff and a ton of tvs. Cheap prices and an extensive list of food. Since we came in the winter, the plan is definitely to bring the boat out and dock during the summer for a better time. Usually a good place to go. You can drive your boat up and dock it. Bags and sand pit in the back. Nice high top tables inside. Good atmosphere. Will change the channel to your game. Food is okay. Some of it is overpriced, but most is good. read more

Great drinks! Love the ice ice Jamie drink! They also have very good food. We enjoy sitting outside at the tiki bar and having an awesome view of the lake. Service was great. Food was great. The atmosphere was great and if you like a sports bar type place then gilligans is the place.

The food is good, the beer is cold, the atmosphere is amazing. We took our three little boys and sat at a table in a sandbox. It actually even had sand toys. They played for hours while we got to chat and listen to live music. There's a nice outdoor patio if the sandbox isn't your thing, but if we lived in chetek, this would be a weekly stop because it was just so easy to go out with little kids. read more

Stopped for lunch today. Ultimate turkey club and cup of chicken rice soup. Sandwich......Meh. Ok at best. Nothing ultimate about it. Soup was good. The environment never changes and is getting run down. I felt like a cow in a barn yard constantly swatting flies sitting at the bar. I have been to Gilligans a number of times. Love the simple bar foods consistency. My favorite is the fajita salad. Large portion of chicken on a bed of lettuce that will not leave you hungry. Also, they have a cuban sandwich that is delicious. The food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere is fun. The wait staff is nice and they work hard. read more

We went there during a busy Leinie's night out, so we understand they were swampped. That being said, we were sitting outside at the tiki bar and I asked what they had for Leinie's and he seemed annoyed that I wanted to know what they had that that wasn't on tap. We selected our beers and he asked if we wanted menus, which we did. Our drinks had been empty for at least 5 minutes and he kept serving people around us! He finally came over and we said we wanted to order food. He said he didn't have time to take our food order! He flat out refused to take our order! He started walking away and we said, well can we at least order drinks? And so he took that order. But as we sat there and waited we got more mad that he refused to let us order food. So we canceled our drink order and said if you're too busy to take our food order, we don't want to give you our business, so can we just pay for our drinks? And he was like whatever, they are on me, and he walked away. I have had some bad service before, but never have I had someone refuse to take our order! Maybe it's because we were from out of town? I don't know, but we will never go back there. It's a shame because the owner seemed nice and it seemed like it could be a fun place. read more

I visited this place several weeks ago and forgot my beautiful warm winter jacket there. Since I live quite far from Chetek I called Julie who is the owner and the manager. She confirmed she had my jacket. I kindly asked her to put it aside somewhere in a safe place until I came and picked it up. She promised to do so. Recently I stopped by to pick up my jacket and it was GONE! I was told by the staff that it had been hanging right by the main entrance for a while and they did not know what happened to it. When I in shock asked why they would keep lost items right next to the main entrance they said they were not responsible for lost items. What a terrible terrible way to treat customers! If I would have forgotten a watch there would they have hang it on the main entryway door knob? I would not be surprised if I saw one of the staff members wearing my jacket next winter. I can not believe this could happen in a small town business ! It is so sad.... read more
