They were able to replace my starter, but I was absolutely shocked at the price. The starter costs about $250. They billed me for the $250 starter, and over $800 for "diagnostics and labor." I was shocked to get a bill for over $1100 to replace a starter. No one there mentioned anything about such an exorbitant price coming my way. My truck is stock. There is nothing difficult about my starter. It is easily accessible, has a heat shield, and two bolts to swap the starter. Overall, they are super friendly, polite, communicative, but I would not return because they charge like a wounded rhino. They knew I was in a bind and at their mercy, so just be aware.

Took my 86 yr old mothers 2010 Nissan Murano to them. Had to have it towed there to be diagnosed…read more unfortunately my middle aged sister, who has little mechanical knowledge, went to the shop to deal with them. after supposedly looking at the car and supposedly running diagnostics they said it could be a number of things. she chose to have them change out the engine. After having the car for weeks and charging more than $5500, they said they installed the used engine, which we later found out had more miles than the original and wasn't even the same year, so the pulleys,etc wouldn't line up. In a couple of days the car was dead again and had to be towed back to the shop. At that point they then said the power steering pump, alternator, catalytic converter were also all bad and wanted another $2200 to fix it correctly, but it would still run. We attempted to drive it home and got about a mile from the shop where it died again. We called the shop again and were told they were "done with us", and refused to do anything about it or refund any of the money. They changed their story about what had, or hadn't been done several times and were fine bilking $5500 from an 86 year old woman and leaving her without a car. Both Dan and DJ were not honest . Would NEVER take a vehicle there. Now have to get an attorney!!

When I arrived home I discovered that both back doors were disassembled with parts covering the floor (see photos). They were closed for the weekend so I had to rent a vehicle for my family as my van was now only a 2 seater. And I'd be without the vehicle again to get the door reassembled. They reimbursed me $39 for my inconvenience (their stated cost to put the doors back together). Months later I was shown (see photos) that they reversed the wiring for the brake light & turn signal. All this time I had only one brake light and no right turn signal thanks to their 'repair'. Two trips to new mechanic required to get it in working order .

I knew that it is on the east side of US-97 that means that I had a choice of trying to turn left across the traffic or find a way to be going north on the highway. I was lucky and found a hole in the northbound traffic for an easy entry into the car wash. I was met by a young man who took my order and processed my credit card. Meanwhile, another young man directed me into the machine and was joined by two other men who folded my outside mirrors and used brushes to clean my pick up. I then went though the machine. Once outside, I walked around my pickup to fold the mirrors back into their normal position and inspect the quality of the wash. I was very satisfied and will return to Wet Willys Car Wash.

Yesterday, 10/22/2025, I went into Gills Point S for an alignment. I am currently on emergency furlough from the Federal Government. I am not being paid for the duration of the furlough. I talked to the crew at the desk, and showed the notice from the Department of Commerce. He showed it to the manager. After working on my truck, Jesse came to me and handed my keys to me. He explained the work done, alignment and to monitor the struts. He then told me there was no charge for services. I was shocked, so surprised and so grateful. Thank you. Paulette L. read more

High Country Automotive popped up as a reliable shop, so we called and Shawn said he could help us out immediately, even though it was getting close to closing. Despite it being a screw that had made a pretty big hole in the tire, Shawn took the time to put three layers on it so it would hold. Each layer required setting time in between, but he did not rush the process so the patch would hold properly. My husband and I were a little nervous thinking that since we were obviously from out of town and undoubtedly in a bind with no other options, that Shawn would charge us much more than would be the normal cost for such a tire repair. He did not do that, though. He charged us a more than reasonable price. He was pleasant to hang out with, and his beautiful dog, Freckles, provided us with affection and entertainment while we waited. Shawn got us back on the road and back to our vacation without breaking the bank. We would definitely go back to him if anything were to happen again when we return.

He ran codes and we determined I didn't need work and we'd make it the rest of the way home, never once pushed a service of any kind. I offered to pay for his time and he waved me off several times. He's about as honest and genuine of a guy as you could ask for. We wish his shop was closer to us in Colorado.

I called Baxter Auto Parts in Wickiup Junction (La Pine) on Friday 4/11/2026 to check on the…read moreavailability of a PT (Performance Tool) #W54121. The female general manager affirmed that the tool was in stock for $7.99. I asked her why the $5.99 price listed as the online price did not coincide with her quoted $7.99. She claimed that the 25% markup was the instore price and if I wanted the $5.99 price, I would need to purchase the item online and pick up the part instore. I attempted to purchase the part, and it refused to complete the purchase cited an issue that the Baxter Auto Parts #37 did not have the part in stock. I drove from home 6 miles to discuss the issue with the counter gentleman with a beard. He went to the back and produced the part, I shown on my iPhone the attempted purchase and returned result that the purchase WAS NOT completed because the part was not shown to be in stock. He claimed that they would not match the $5.99 online purchase and I would have to pay the additional 25%. I asked him where the general manager was and he told me she was in the office in the back. I told him I would purchase the part at Amazon online since I was an Amazon Prime member and would receive the part in 2 days. I was clearly gaslit by the store manager who obviously marked the item as out of stock so I couldn't pick it up instore at the reduced online price. The folks in the store are clearly disingenuous and do not have the customer best interests in mind. There were no other customers in the store, like there are at NAPA several miles down the road. They closed once before and if they continue to conduct business with customers like they currently do I suspect this will eventually close again. I hope that Autozone gets built in the very near future as planned. Heaven knows we need another honest auto parts store in La Pine, OR
