I had balayage highlights and a trim done on December 2nd, totaling $708 including tip. Within 4-5…read moredays I noticed my highlights turning brassy, and by day 7-8 they were extremely brassy. I reached out to Mola on day 8 to ask about coming in for another toner. Due to scheduling conflicts, I wasn't able to come back until December 23rd. A toner was applied, which I assumed would be complimentary given how quickly the brassiness appeared, but paid $177 including tip. Unfortunately, within a week the highlights were brassy again. I reached out on December 30th to let her know. She suggested it could be due to hard water, but I do not have hard water, and the brassiness started appearing before I ever washed my hair. After doing some research, I learned that if highlights are not lifted enough, brassy tones can return very quickly. I asked if some of the highlights could be corrected, as this was a big financial investment and I was very unhappy with the result. After that, she completely stopped responding to my emails. Being ghosted after spending nearly $900 total is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I expected better communication and accountability.

It seems like everyone has been talking about Brazilian Blowouts lately. So after the millionth time someone mentioned their fantastic BB experience to me, I realized that I had to give it a try for myself!! The only word I have to describe the "Brazilian Blowout" is AMAZING! I had thought about getting my hair straightened before but the Japanese straightening seemed to leave people's hair too flat and I wanted to keep some body in my hair. I'd even heard about Brazilian straightening before but the old way of doing it used formaldehyde and there was no way I was putting that on my head. This new "Brazilian Blowout" method does NOT use formaldehyde and none of the chemicals in it are carcinogenic. I had it done at Savvy Salon in Burlingame, one of the only places in our area using this method. It started with a thorough shampoo, then Nicole - the fabulous stylist there - applied the product to my hair and immediately after, she blew it dry and then painstakingly flat ironed it. No sitting around with the stuff on your head waiting for it to work. The heat activates it. Then it was back to the sink for a rinse and condition. Then it was another rinse and a final blow dry. The whole process took about two hours and when it was done, my hair was softer, silkier and shinier then it's ever been before. All I can say is wow! You really don't even begin to appreciate what a great treatment this is until you wash and dry your own hair for the first time post-treatment. It's truly amazing how much time it saves me in the morning and I no longer have to use the straightener to get polished-looking hair. I even went dancing this weekend when I got all sweaty hot and everyone couldn't believe how my hair didn't frizz up at all! Its supposed to last about 3 months, give or take...I don't think I can ever go without again in my life!! Maintance is easy - Using a shampoo that's sulfate free will help maintain the results, and I'll keep you posted on how it holds up - but for now I am frizz free for the first time thanks to Nicole at Savvy Salon and the Brazilian Blowout!
