I followed Sevon from another salon and have been very happy with the customer service and scheduling system at Parlour 151. You get texts when you set up appointments and a reminder text the day before. I like this since I like to confirm all of my appointments. I drive one hour for my hair appointments and they do not make errors in the system. The front desk helpers are always kind and considerate and will make me coffee and engage in conversation which is very much appreciated. Please be wary of this salon, especially their stylist Sevon. On July 14th, I booked a wash and style with Sevon. She was very friendly and I actually ended up loving the angled bob she gave me. Although I was unaware of their cash/check only policy at the time, Sevon and the salon were super accommodating and let me run to go get cash from an ATM to pay them. I made an appointment one week ago for an appointment yesterday, the 23rd, with Sevon. When I arrived, she looked very upset and asked me to "speak privately in the back". She then proceeded to ask me "why I had returned"? I was so confused at this point. I was under the assumption I was here for a haircut?! She then said "I'm just confused because you left me a horrible review on Yelp". I was floored. I had not written a good OR bad review of Parlour 151 at that point. I asked her to show me the review she was talking about. She showed me the review listed below from an "I.C." Who wrote a poor review two months ago about an unnamed stylist who gave her "long layered hair with bangs". After showing Sevon my own Yelp account and pointing out the inconsistencies with the review (I am after all, sporting an angled bob, NOT long layers with bangs) and asking her why on earth I would return if I had written such a review, she simply stated that I was her only new customer that month when the review was written so consequently, accusing that it MUST have been me somehow. After getting hounded with accusations for a review that I did not post, there was no apology. read more

Oh how do I love Parlour 151....let me count the ways: one, two, three......six, SEVON!!! I was directed to her through a friend after needing a stylist in the Bay area. First, I checked the FB as any stalker would to do their homework. I was immediately intrigued at the creativity in her work because I love outside the box unique looks. Not only that, she's an artist at heart and it was obvious I could trust this person with my own eclectic personality and 'do. The whole experience made me love my transplanted home here even more: every time I walk out of this place I look and feel like a million bucks to the point that strangers on the street have even commented as I left the salon!! Talk about making a girl feel good!! Not only that, women I see at the gym, at work, or strangers on the street or in watering holes stop me and ask where I get my hair done because they love everything about it! I have naturally curly hair, but the cut and the color are perfection. And even when she straightens it, as any professional needs to in order to see their cut lines, it looks like a different person and I always joke that I am rocking my alter ego. But I always drop her name and the salon name. Even my mother, the biggest critic of my hair (mainly because she's jealous) comments on what a great cut she gives me with my hair. I so look forward to getting pampered there and the friendly people who even helped me celebrate my birthday when I went in the same week for my Birthday cut. I wish I could go way more often than my hair needs it because I just love being there and the vibe.
