This is one of my favorite campgrounds I've ever been to!!! Kelly and Mikal treat their guests like family. From the first time I called Kelly was so kind and helpful. I have been numerous times now and it feels like going to a little slice of heaven each time. It's clean, beautiful, quiet, and they live on site so if there's an issue they are there to help! The sites are spread out and spacious so you won't have someone right on top of you. The sites are kept up so nicely and the campground itself is simply gorgeous. The bathrooms are clean, there are several free showers, and there is firewood for sale as well. The town of Guerneville itself is only five minutes away, and there are tons of cute little shops as well as a major grocery store. There are darling little art galleries, clothing stores, bakeries, ice cream shops, coffee shops, etc. The ocean is only a 25 minute drive down the road. There are endless little beaches to stop at, as well as numerous little beachside towns with restaurants and coffee shops. You can spend a whole day exploring highway 1, then head back to your campsite to relax. I feel so lucky to only live 3 hours away and be able to head there any time I want. I'm so grateful to Kelly and Mikal for being so accommodating and kind.

The park itself is beautiful peaceful lake views, well-kept grounds, and such a calm, relaxing vibe. Everything was clean and easy! Full hookups worked perfectly and the whole place felt safe and cared for. We loved taking morning walks with our dog around the property and just soaking in how quiet and serene and perfect for unwinding together. But what truly made this stay special was the management. She is hands-down one of the nicest, most attentive people we've ever encountered at any RV park. Friendly, helpful, and clearly proud of what she runs, and it shows. She made us feel like guests, not just another reservation. If you're traveling as a couple, with pets, or just want a stress-free, relaxing lakeside stay, this place is a gem. No sooner than we get into the park, and go to turn around at the end (no more than 3-5 minutes), an extremely rude ranger came up to try and write us a ticket for parking without paying. She tried to claim we had to have been there a couple hours since she did not see us coming into the park. After I called her on her B.S. she told me "I am a firm believer in Karma, so I won't write you a ticket this time." Sure, if by believing in Karma, she meant not blatantly trying to rip people off. You could tell by the look on her face that she knew she was in the wrong, but was trying to play it off. So after she said her spiel, I just ignored her as she kept on babbling, and took off....not worth the aggravation. Other than that, the campgrounds don't look too bad, although some are very close together. Unfortunately after a bad experience with park staff like this, I have no interest in returning, and will advocate the same to those that I know.

If my reserved campsite is available when I arrive, I'm good to go. Woodside did not fail me in any way, shape or form during my 2-night stay this summer. I made my reservations ahead of time on ReserveCalifornia.com, but if you show up out of the blue the rangers put in the meticulous effort every day of marking which sites have no-shows or cancellations, allowing you to essentially walk right into a premium summer camping location. My site had a placard with my name and date range on it, a little detail of service I completely love. Showing up after 5 pm was nbd, because our place was saved. $80 very well spent. At site 41, we were a short walk to the restroom, but had a water spigot and small, clean trash cans right next to the site. For convenience, we often used the restroom while we were coming and going to Stewarts Point Store for breakfast or the beach for hiking. No problemo. No showers at Woodside, yay to a washcloth and soap to clean up after a long day of hiking. In the campground we saw bats, chipmunks, baby deer (with white spots still on their fur), woodpeckers, jays, and all sorts of other birds. Gratefully, no mosquitoes in mid-July. We loved sliding into nighttime with a campfire. If you haven't camped in Salt Point, you're in for a treat. The area has an interesting history and the bluff trails have to be experienced firsthand. Your reservation includes Day Use fees for all areas of the park, including Gerstle Cove and the Salt Point Bluff trails. Make a reservation and get out there!

I get it. $hit happens. No one told us for sure, but we guessed the water was not drinkable due to the water leak? Some advance notice of this would have been appreciated. The site and facilities were not in the best shape. We stayed at site 46. My bf found empty canned food tins in the brush, and the unisex bathrooms were gross. Thankfully, I was only in there to wash my hands because we ran out of water in the camper. Also to note: No hookups, no shower facilities or dump station. For $35/night plus a $7.99 reservation fee, this was just sad.

Not what you expect to say about a trailer in the woods, but here we are. The suite came with a wood-fired hot tub, which was the highlight. Soaking out there in the redwoods at dusk with the Airstream lit up next to us is an image I'm going to be chasing for a while. Two people made the stay: Blythe at the front desk was absolutely wonderful -- warm, personable, and clearly someone who takes pride in her work and in making sure guests have everything they need. And Favian, who set up our wood-fired tub both nights, was so friendly and full of great recommendations for food and things to do in the area. Can't wait to come back.

If you come as a diamond member you receive 2 waters a day, a s'mores kit, firewood and skewers. Nice free perk because we came here on an impromptu adventure and didn't plan ahead. Dog friendly property for $75 per a dog. Dog poop bags everywhere on the premise and you get a welcome bowl and blanket. You do not get it if you bring a service animal. Not sure if that is fair and is life fair?!
