House Special H1. General Tso's Chicken
    Imani N.

Let me just start by saying this sushi is 10/10. But I decided to try regular food since I love the sushi so much. I was sadly disappointed I got the House Special General Tso. One first glance I could tell there wasn't enough sauce. Even with the little bit of sauce they have the chicken was soggy. There was also no spice. The Generalso probably rated a 1 out of 5 but since the sushi's is 5 out of 5 I figured I'd give it an average.

Best sushi in the area! Obsessed with the sweet potato roll. Tons of vegetarian options. A must try if you're in the area!

I love this place! It's my favorite Chinese restaurant in York. I love that they have brown rice. Plus their sushi is supper yummy and fresh!

I do like the place, but almost feel like one star was for the service! :o) so we go in, and the place looks snazzy enough, and they even have really clean (decorative) fish tanks. (that's amazing in and of itself) But the place is a little too empty for me. but the little shopping center, tucked behind Outback steakhouse is kind of... well, empty also. But the place is nice, very clean, nicely decorated. the menu sticks to everything, but doesnt seem to be sticky or dirty. they have those nice clothe disposable napkins... no chopsticks or soy sauce unless you ask. they have those free fried wontons just waiting before you arrive. (I'm always suspicious of those and never partake in them.) the house (japanese) salad was YUMMY! but it left about 1inch of liquid in the salad bowl. that always sucks. but i find that to be the case in many places. Still very yummy! miso soup was awesome! the chicken teriyaki comes w/miso soup... but no steamed rice. two chicken breasts of chicken on a bed of mixed steamed veggies. (thumbs up for the chicken from my companion). I liked the gyoza better at tokyo dinner. and the potstickers werent my favorite... but they werent bad. I did really like the shrimp & broccoli. I dont personally like that they used chicken breast strips in the fried rice, or the use of white onions... but it seems to be a trend in this area. over all i really liked the food, but probably wouldnt come back due to the distance from my house, and I dont like the quiet shopping center feel. the waitress was funny. she had the little accent and didnt understand why we ordered shrimp and broccoli but then asked for no shrimp in the house fried rice (incase my dinner companion wanted some). And she constantly asked if things were okay, and offered soda refills several times. once she asked if we wanted a refill but we said we were good. we asked her to take our plate instead. she said we were okay and took our soda (instead of our plate) and refilled it anyway saying we need more soda. ;o) she was so cute!

We stopped in for the lunch special 3 sushi rolls for 10 bucks - not a bad deal, we got soup with it and the fried wontons were enough to fill u up. I like the way the place is set up with a big aquarium with a least a dozen fish -koi and suckers in the entry. They have a bar to sit and watch the rolls being made in the back left corner by the kitchen and have large tables for bigger parties with turntables for family style dining. The prices are good and the rolls are fresh with plenty of wasabi and ginger with the plate. The place has been in business for more than 12 years for a reason. We got tri-colored fortune cookies which had some head scratching fortunes, but so be it. I like the fact you can have either Chinese or Japanese and the B.Y.O.B is a plus too. I had a peach lambic from down the street at Thirsty's with maki here before.

This is their spicy dumplings in a very thick and stake sauce.

NEW OWNERS The quality of the food is not good, dirty silverware, wait staff talking on their cell phones, other staff texting and watching videos instead of waiting on customers. This is really sad, this used to be a great place but I'm afraid this is just another restaurant that will be gone in the next 2 years if they do not drastically change things.

    Calamari

I went to purchase some calamari from this place and their portion size is only 8 pieces on a bed of lettuce. This is worth 8.75 plus tax... their food is usually good but cmon..

Ninja charshu pork rice bowl is my second favorite, but too much rice. Chicken katsu rice bowl is dry, needs veggies. The curry chicken katsu bowl is better. We placed an online order for pick up through the website. My friend's husband picked up the order…read moreso I can't comment on the restaurant itself or the service. We ordered quite a few items including the Ninja Chashu Rice, Spring Rolls, Curry Chicken Rice, and Gyoza Dumplings. I had the Pepper Salted Chicken and the Chicken Shoyu Ramen. The Pepper Salted Chicken was okay. The breading could have been crispier. I don't know how to describe the flavor, but I wasn't a fan. I dipped the chicken in the ramen broth and that helped the flavor a little bit, but it made the breading soggy. I wouldn't order this appetizer again. The Chicken Shoyu ramen was good. I didn't make any modifications to the order (it came with egg, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, scallions, corn, and fried onions). The broth had a nice umami flavor and the pieces of chicken were large. The portion was plentiful and I had enough for leftovers (ramen is always better the next day IMO). There's currently two locations in York which is nice considering that there doesn't seem to be many ramen options. It's not the best ramen that I've ever had, but it was decent.

It's everything you didn't know you needed, in the best way ever. *** Ginger offers benefits like reducing nausea, fighting inflammation and pain (especially menstrual cramps, arthritis), aiding digestion, boosting immunity, potentially improving heart health (cholesterol, blood sugar), and supporting brain function due to its potent antioxidants (gingerols, shogaols) and anti-inflammatory compounds, helping with colds, indigestion, and even skin health*** Moved on to the Shrimp Fresh Garden Rolls (warm shrimp, fresh Thai basil, fresh spring mix, and crispy lettuce wrapped in rice paper) served with a DELICIOUS HOMEMADE peanut sauce. Solid garden roll and paying $1 extra for hoisin and Thai chili sauce was worth it. A fresh explosion of flavor with every bite. ***Thai basil provides benefits such as rich antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties, supporting immune function with vitamins A, C, and K, and aiding digestion. It also contains essential minerals like magnesium, calcium, iron, and potassium, and may help support heart health, reduce stress, and ease pain*** Finished with Green Curry with Tofu!!! Brilliantly vibrant, herbaceous, creamy, and spicy dish balancing sweet, salty, and savory notes with a distinct, bright, complex flavor with a creamy coconut base and medium heat. Served with a traditional white rice cooked to perfection. Those of y'all who don't know...RICE IS AN ART IN IT'S OWN RIGHT! :) ***Thai green curry offers benefits like improved digestion, heart health, and brain function due to its rich antioxidants, anti-inflammatory herbs (lemongrass, galangal), and vitamins from vegetables, but watch out for high fat/sodium from coconut milk and paste. Food was seasoned well, very good. Servers very attentive. Restaurant buzzed with happy people.read more

To Whom It May Concern,…read more I am writing to express my disappointment regarding the rude service I received during my recent visit to your restaurant. Your restaurant offers a wide variety of food and appears to do well financially. For the most part, the food is decent. However, the attitudes of some of the waitstaff were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. When I entered the restaurant with an elderly relative, instead of approaching us politely and asking how many were in our party, one waitress yelled across the room. I understand the restaurant can get busy, but basic manners and customer service should still apply--especially when serving seniors. I also observed that when larger parties entered, this same waitress rushed to assist them, seemingly prioritizing them for financial reasons. As someone who understands the service industry, I recognize that waitstaff rely on tips. However, customers should never be asked or pressured for tips. Good service naturally encourages tipping. One waitress, a tall and thin woman, had a noticeably poor attitude. While she was not the one who asked for a tip, another waitress--shorter in stature and possibly a co-owner--was equally rude. She abruptly snatched the payment pad from one of my family members after they had signed, which was completely inappropriate. In contrast, there was a third asian waitress--wearing glasses with a round face--who was kind, respectful, and professional. She treated everyone with dignity regardless of appearance. I would gladly tip her and encourage others to do the same. The other two waitresses could learn a great deal from her example. This was my second visit to your restaurant, and it will likely be my last. I have visited other Chinese buffets in the area where the staff are consistently polite and welcoming, and I would rather support businesses that value customer respect. When customers come into your establishment, they are spending their hard-earned money and should be treated accordingly. I spent close to $40 during this visit, and had I returned with more family members, that amount could easily have reached $100. Poor service like this costs businesses repeat customers and will hurt in the long run if it continues. I do not want anyone to lose their job--especially in today's job market--but retraining in customer service is clearly needed. Tip or no tip, all customers deserve respect. Kindness is often rewarded, sometimes in ways staff may not expect.I remember one young lady was so kind I came back to the restaurant and she did not even expect to get a tip from me and I tipped her. I did not even eat anything but I remembered how kind she was to me and other people. I came back at a time when she did not expect to return the kindness she had shown my family. There was also an incident involving utensils. When I went to the front to ask for a fork, a waitress yelled, "Yeah?". This was the tall thin waitress, at me in an aggressive manner. I am a grown man in my 40s, likely old enough to be her father. That type of behavior is unacceptable in any professional setting. Other people were asking for forks so I was not the only one. The food itself is good, but good food does not make up for poor customer service. There are many alternatives available, including cooking at home, which I already do. There are other Chinese Buffets in the area so I can always go to another one. Heck there are enough YouTube videos and products in the market I can cook some Chinese food myself. In fact I have especially, the egg rolls and I'm pretty good at cooking them. Hey if they like treating people especially senior citzens like that then more power to them. This black man is not giving them anymore of his hard earned money. I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these issues so future customers--especially seniors--are treated with the respect they deserve. Peace and Egg Rolls, New Victory
