Husband and I have been become to Cosmo's Restaurant for a while now. It's our favorite Restaurant on Canal road. We had been to the State Park hiking. It was very hot and humid on this day. So, I order a Coconut and Pineapple Mojito, so cool and refreshing. We like to try something different each time we visit. Our waitress recommended the Chicken Roulade. We both ordered the Chicken Roulade. It was really delirious. Waitresses/manager also came by twice to ask us how we liked our food. Restaurant is clean and health rating is excellent too. My Wife and I have been visiting Cosmo's for many years. It's always been a place you can go to and feel comfortable. It can be hit or miss depending on what you order however, we have been enough to know and share with others what to order and what to stay away from. The following is from our most recent visit. We began the meal with a Cosmo and a Fairhope Brewery Blue Steel Sour. Both were very good. The Blue Steel sour has notes of blueberry. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese dip. It consist of three cheeses, including Gruyere, which is one of our favorites. The cheese also comes with feta cheese and a tomato relish over the top, which we find very good. It makes the cheese dip a little different than others. The tomatoes are very soft and the relish is on the sweeter side. My Wife got the chicken roulade. It was okay. The chicken was good however, it is wrapped in bacon and flash fried. In our opinion the flash fry isn't needed and it adds the risk of the bacon being overdone or burnt, which is what happened. The Parmesan risotto was a little gummy but had good flavor. The cream sauce that accompanied the dish was probably the best part. I got the fish sandwich and upgraded from sheepshead to grouper. You can get it fried, blackened or grilled. I chose grilled and it was really good. It was not the first time I have gotten the fish sandwich. The bun is a sourdough/Hawaiian roll hybrid. I got an order of fries to go with the fish sandwich. Their fries are really really. They're slightly battered and crunchy. Very good with ketchup or tartar sauce or both! If you visit I would suggest sticking to the fish sandwich, burger or fish dish (grilled/blackened) that comes with a cream based sauce. Their drinks and beer is selection really good as well. Family friendly ambiance although I wouldn't describe this as a casual restaurant. Service was great. We enjoyed the savory cheesecake a lot. The crab cakes were just ok. Perfect light lunch for the Sunday drive back home! Great price for great quality food. We loved the Tuna Poke Bowl and the Spicy Tuna Roll- both super fresh and tasty with just the right portion. Had a group of 6 with me. Sherika did a great job taking care of us. The had live music but we were seated in an open area in front of the shops so hard to hear. Ordered calamari for a starter. This is owned by the same folks that run Cobalt and it's location is not as fantastic or fancy but it also is usually easier to get in and out of. They have a nice size patio area along with a good indoor dining area along with a good size bar. The service here is almost always fantastic with the occasional and rare exception. The menu and ambiance seem even more casual than Cobalt while some of the food items are the same or similar they do have many unique items distinct from Cobalt like sushi. They have a nice discount on the sushi rolls at certain times of the day and this is certainly some of the best sushi in the area. I'm not a big fan of the burger here but the Firecracker Shrimp (which seem to be on the menu of all the restaurants this group owns) are usually a good appetizer in moderation as the sauce is very rich. The one really huge disappointment I've had here is the shrimp etouffee which absolutely wouldn't cut it in Louisiana! All the other food I've had here has been good to fantastic so they just need to do some additional work on that etouffee! I would be quite happy to be their taste tester and I'm also known as making a pretty amazing shrimp and crawfish etouffee myself so maybe I would even share some of my secrets to help them do a vastly better version of etouffee. I had very high expectations for this set by my parents, and I was very disappointed. The Delmonico Ribeye was my order, and it was not a good steak. Maybe I just had a bad cut, but idk. I have never seen a place where you can get grilled swordfish or fried mahi-mahi for your kids for under $10. Of course mine would have preferred cheeseburgers and chicken fingers, but the swordfish was good enough for me to be jealous and want as my own meal. I got the shrimp Poboy, and it was the best one that I had in Gulf Shores. Way better than some of the ones that I tasted that were more highly praised online. For dinner, our party of 4 ordered fried crab claws and a side of fries, a kids cheese burger with fries, the featured fish sandwich, and the banana leaf wrapped seas bass. The fries were outstanding. The sea bass was as tender and flavorful. Crab claws were plentiful. Only complaint was the asparagus with the sea bass was slightly overcooked. Cosmo's - One of the Best Meals of Our Trip We visited Cosmo's for dinner during Spring Break with our family of four, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table, which was a great start. The space was clean with a fun, energetic atmosphere. Our server was fantastic--very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to offer recommendations when we asked. She really elevated the experience. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp, which was a generous portion for all four of us and absolutely delicious. We also tried The Cosmo sushi roll, which didn't disappoint. For my entrée, our server recommended the Pecan Redfish over the fresh catch of the day, and I'm so glad I took her advice--it was hands down the best meal I had on the entire trip. The redfish was cooked perfectly, and the sides of asparagus and Parmesan risotto paired beautifully. The risotto is a bit rich, but in the best way--it definitely left me full and satisfied. The pricing felt very fair for the quality of food and overall experience. Cosmo's delivers on both flavor and value. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back the next time we're in Orange Beach. read more

Food was great. I loved my redfish. Everyone in my group had a good meal including the kids. I loved how the dishes were artsy but accessible to everyone. Our server was great she kept our glasses full the whole time and answered all of our questions. She even gave my Mom her recommendation on how to order her fish. Pretty cool place with a good craft beer selection and drink options. Several items on the menu looked fantastic and I wish I could have tried more than we did. We sat at the bar and ordered the BBQ crab claws that we had been reading so much about. Sautéed in a BBQ creole butter sauce. The sauce was spot on and like many reviews we should have gotten extra bread for dipping. That's about all that was worth eating. The crab claws were very rubbery and difficult to eat. The wife even said they had a strange fishy taste. I was really looking forward to this place and maybe we just got a bad batch. Won't know because we probably will not be back. We were there during rush so concerned we may be put in a loud area as there are several different areas for dining. We were pleasantly surprised they chose a nice quiet corner and a perfect place for dinner! I ordered crab cakes and my friend ordered the shrimp po- boy. "One way, this means you!" great traffic sign in the parking lot. Which was interesting to navigate but not difficult. Cosmo's isn't located in the touristy area and had a real classic hometown vibe. It was refreshing to be around the wonderful locals who inhabit this fantastic place. The fish of the day was swordfish and it was prepared perfectly to our liking. The crab cake entree was filling and good. The firecracker shrimp was salty and underwhelming. However, we topped it all off with some delicious crème brûlée. The service was fantastic and the live music was on point. It wasn't obtrusive and loud. Ordered fresh catch which was swordfish. I ordered it blackened and when it came out it had very little seasoning on it at all and it was dry and tough and raw all in the same piece of fish. How you do that I don't know. So I let the sweet waitress know about this and instead of a replacement piece of fish I chose to try the grilled shrimp. Terrible shrimp also! Smelled terrible and tasted awful, could tell it was old. So left unsatisfied ready to find somewhere good to eat. Service was excellent though and the place had a nice atmosphere about it. Cosmo's is one in a big family of restaurants under the same ownership. We set out hoping to have dinner at a sister restaurant, Cobalt, but the wait was over an hour and we had kids who were a little too squirmy for that. BuzzCatz is another restaurant in the group and was one of my family's favorite finds for breakfast. We showed up to Cosmo's for dinner around 8 and got in with no wait. I was really excited about the Cobalt menu so was a little bummed when the dishes I was eyeing the hardest didn't happen to have similar counterparts on the Cosmo's menu. We started with a sushi roll (tips and tails) and an appetizer (blue crab and corn Cala) and they were both good. I got the lobster andouille mac and cheese. It was also good. I think we all enjoyed our food, it just wasn't necessarily a standout location for me. Our son got grilled fish for dinner and it was a great looking piece with mashed sweet potatoes, so they definitely don't skimp out on the kids! We had a very attentive and professional waitress! Thank you! My wife and I ordered adult beverages While we perused the menu. For an appetizer we decided on their cheese dip. We thought the cheese dip was very good! Wish the seasoning on the fresh pita chips would've been dispersed better. My wife decided on their muffaletta while I asked the waitress what was the one thing I should have if I'm only gonna be there once. Visited for dinner. It was at the end of the season after schools were back in session so there was no crowd. We ate inside. Ordered the nachos with a tuna and a Caesar salad small. A tuna on the nachos was excellent and the sauce they put on the chips was fantastic. The small Caesar salad was big enough for a meal and they added blue cheese to it, which made it really great. Also ordered the crab claws. I have to say they were one of the best we've had in a long time. We got a young waiter. He came back several times before the meal and during the meal and after the meal, and when we asked him about some selections, he gave us his opinion which we found an accurate.
