Cosmo's - One of the Best Meals of Our Trip We visited Cosmo's for dinner during Spring Break with our family of four, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table, which was a great start. The space was clean with a fun, energetic atmosphere. Our server was fantastic--very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to offer recommendations when we asked. She really elevated the experience. We started with the Firecracker Shrimp, which was a generous portion for all four of us and absolutely delicious. We also tried The Cosmo sushi roll, which didn't disappoint. For my entrée, our server recommended the Pecan Redfish over the fresh catch of the day, and I'm so glad I took her advice--it was hands down the best meal I had on the entire trip. The redfish was cooked perfectly, and the sides of asparagus and Parmesan risotto paired beautifully. The risotto is a bit rich, but in the best way--it definitely left me full and satisfied. The pricing felt very fair for the quality of food and overall experience. Cosmo's delivers on both flavor and value. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant and look forward to coming back the next time we're in Orange Beach.

Huge outdoor seating area and indoor seating. Very vibrant atmosphere and loved all the photos on the walls. Service was great and fast. Food was excellent! Wonderful flavor and a huge menu! I can't wait to go back and try some more things from the menu.

Shrimp Etouffee... this wouldn't cut it in Louisiana. The only dish I have had at Cosmo's that disappointed me.

This is owned by the same folks that run Cobalt and it's location is not as fantastic or fancy but it also is usually easier to get in and out of. They have a nice size patio area along with a good indoor dining area along with a good size bar. The service here is almost always fantastic with the occasional and rare exception. The menu and ambiance seem even more casual than Cobalt while some of the food items are the same or similar they do have many unique items distinct from Cobalt like sushi. They have a nice discount on the sushi rolls at certain times of the day and this is certainly some of the best sushi in the area. I'm not a big fan of the burger here but the Firecracker Shrimp (which seem to be on the menu of all the restaurants this group owns) are usually a good appetizer in moderation as the sauce is very rich. The one really huge disappointment I've had here is the shrimp etouffee which absolutely wouldn't cut it in Louisiana! All the other food I've had here has been good to fantastic so they just need to do some additional work on that etouffee! I would be quite happy to be their taste tester and I'm also known as making a pretty amazing shrimp and crawfish etouffee myself so maybe I would even share some of my secrets to help them do a vastly better version of etouffee. Overall I'm a big fan of this place and all the other restaurants this restaurant group owns. I even have a YouTube video about this joint you can find on the NOLA Gent Channel!

This was our first time visiting this establishment. The service was fast and friendly. The atmosphere is fun and colorful. I had the blackened chicken fried rice, which was very tasty! My wife had the salmon salad. I would recommend Cosmo's!

Food was great. I loved my redfish. Everyone in my group had a good meal including the kids. I loved how the dishes were artsy but accessible to everyone. Our server was great she kept our glasses full the whole time and answered all of our questions. She even gave my Mom her recommendation on how to order her fish. Restaurant was pet friendly as long as the dogs stayed outside. The walls were covered in local art that was available for purchase. 10/10 will be back.

First visit to Cosmo's today. We were not disappointed. We brought our dog, Ellie along with us and the staff was very welcoming to her. We sat on the covered porch which was surrounded by cute shops. Each one of the shops and restaurant are named for the restaurant owner's dogs. Our server was Lee and she was very prompt, friendly and made great suggestions for us. The food was great and the service was even greater! Thanks Lee for a fun and tasty lunch!

Looking for a local restaurant with great service and food? Look no more - Cosmos Restaurant provided that and more! My first visit, we were a party of two. We were there during rush so concerned we may be put in a loud area as there are several different areas for dining. We were pleasantly surprised they chose a nice quiet corner and a perfect place for dinner! I ordered crab cakes and my friend ordered the shrimp po- boy. I replaced the rice that normally comes with the crab cakes to the Parmesan risotto! Both meals were delicious! I personally, being a southerner, would have preferred the crab cakes to have a little spice to them with paprika or cayenne. But, that's just me! Well done staff, cooks and owners!

Outdoor seating! Great service, cute little area. Food was spectacular! The cheese dip was to die for!!!!

In this picture is fire cracker shrimp Alfredo french fries and a martini.

This place was amazing. They had great fire cracker, shrimp and french fries. The Caesar salad was incredible! Great amount of dressing on the salad perfectly drenched also added with cheese yum. We also had the edamame for an appetizer so yummy perfectly salted. I had a pomegranate martini absolutely amazing taste like a pink lemonade. Service was amazing in ambience incredible. Thank you!

Been here a couple of times and it's always good food and service. Also has a dog friendly patio that's a nice spot in good weather.

Food- I had the mahi mahi blackened on sourdough and it was great. Not sure of the sauce but it compliments the fish very well. Great side salad all fresh. Had a cheese dip app with some pita chips that was great. I was too wrapped up in my meal to ask, but I believe the salmon salad was great. The fettuccine I heard was awesome and another in our party had the salad with tomatoes and some nice large mozzarella balls. Will definitely go back if we have a chance this week. Told the wife she knocked it out of the park on this one. Service was great and friendly Lee(sp?) was very attentive without being overbearing. Ambiance was almost perfect ( no dogs when we were there) seriously though we've got no complaints at all. I even got a hat even though I'm not much for souvenirs.

    Craft cocktails for the win!

Food was amazing! Banana leaf sea bass was melt in your mouth. Coconut Blackberry mojito was sublime! Service was impeccable and live music was cherry on top. Ambiance with outdoor seating is so chill. Over 10 yrs since eating here and it's still 5 stars

Attentive staff with lovely outdoor seating, pretty flowers, chandeliers and a stage for live music. The sautéed crab claws were in the most delicious sauce. The meat was excellent. The Red snapper in meunière sauce was amazing with excellent flavor. The banana leaf wrapped sea bass was so soft and flaky. Amazing food!

Banana Leaf Wrapped Sea Bass. Very very good.

Ask the Community - Cosmo's Restaurant & Bar

Hi! My husband and I will be down Labor Day weekend and are looking for a place to have a nice dinner , then stay to watch the Alabama vs Florida State game at the bar. Would this be a place to do that?

Cosmos is one of the better places to eat in the area. We spent a week there this summer and ate out every evening. Cosmos was at the top of our list. Excellent area outside to watch the game as well.

ATMOSPHERE Nothing too special about the atmosphere here. I just love that. It was nice clean open area with large windows and plenty of seating and easy to get around. Love that pimento cheese ball appetizer with that blueberry pepper jelly! For lunch, I had the meat and three. It was all good, especially the collard greens. SERVICE THIS WAS MAYBE SOME OF THE BEST SERVICE I HAD THE WHOLE TIME I WAS IN ORANGE BEACH THIS WEEKEND. OUR SERVER WAS SO AMAZING. I HATE THAT I CAN'T REMEMBER HER NAME, BUT SHE WAS ON TOP OF IT AND SUPER DELIGHTFUL. DRINKS The bar area looked really nice. Most of my table had iced tea which everybody enjoyed. I also got a beer from the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was very impressed by their beer selection and they are a verified venue on the Untappd app so you can go to that app to look at all the beer selection and even filter and sort the beers so that you can have an easier time selecting the proper beverage. It even came out in a glass that matched the beer that I had! I like that extra touch.

Unfortunately my fish and potatoes were cold, cold and butter congealed. The greens were warm and good I had also ordered the cornbread. It was refreshing to see that it wasn't the usual cake like kind, plus not the ultra sweet kind either. More bread like with a hint of sweetness. Delicious. The fish and potatoes had a nice flavor but unfortunately the cold food spoiled the experience. Since I was a guest of my sister I didn't say anything about the cold food. What a disappointment. Maybe when I return things will be better.

Hush puppies were pretty darn good, light, nicely seasoned with good flavor. The Cole slaw was excellent. All portions were generous. Apparently it is not important enough to service staff to understand what is like to have someone in your party that has a food allergy. The most important thing, is to have the ability to empathize with your guests, and make their experience a good one. If there is an issue with cross contamination in your kitchen, then create an area in the kitchen solely to address those with food allergy needs. For example, when your customer tells you the sprite has no flavor, you don't just come back and tell them it looks fine to me and everything is hooked up. Try tasting it yourself and at least bring a new cup of it to the table. Don't come back empty handed. Then there was the Crab Cakes. After all of the seafood places I have been to in the southeast I found these crab cakes to be just so so. If you are going to deep fry them, please understand that the crab meat will turn to the consistency of tuna salad and is not pleasant to eat whatsoever. Perhaps skip the breading/deep fry and pan fry them instead? While the breading on the crab cake was crisp and delicious, it was a little off setting to have mushy crab on the inside. Again, this was a beautiful venue with a great view. I am troubled by the lack of attention to detail, especially when it comes to addressing your guests.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.
