My husband and I picked up Gino's for dinner this evening.We had not had Italian in a while, so we decided on the way home from my oncologist appointment, and stopping by the house to pick up some stuff, that we would do a door dash order for pickup. My husband decided on the pasta combination(lasagna, ravioli, and manicotti) and I decided on the seafood combination(with too many ingredients to name), and for dessert it was tiramisu for the hubby, and lemoncello cake for me. Leave it to say, we got home, called it a night, and have full tummies. The desserts were the best points of the meal. If I could give 0 stars I would! Service was slow had a total of 2 tables for the hour we were there. The bruschetta is crackers and rotten tomatoes. The manager that we asked to speak to came up to talk to our table started off with raising her voice at us. Telling us basically that we are broke liars and tried to snatch the check out of our hands after standing there yelling at us about salads and how we pronounced the dish we didn't liked incorrectly. We were staying the weekend in Muskogee and decided to give this place a try based on the previous review. The restaurant is very clean and the décor is beautiful. They bring out fresh baked bread, it was soft and tasted great alone but we ordered olive oil, basil, and garlic dip too. Wonderful start to our meal. A side note, the tea was very flavorful! I ordered a classic spaghetti and meat sauce, my husband ordered a tortellini dish. Both dishes were delicious. My husband was about to eat all of his, I was not- but not because it wasn't good, it was too much for me- that's not always a bad thing. They used to be the best, it oh how the pendulum has swung. First rule of cooking noodles. Don't leave them in the pot in hot water. . They turn to mush. 2nd rule. Don't throw yellow cheese on noodles and call it a dish. Pure disappointment!! read more

Their bread is great, and there's nothing food was great when ran by the previous owners, but now, the food barely resembles anything authentic as far as being Italian. Why are there chili pepper flakes in the chicken piccata? Also, a side salad needs to be more than bagged lettuce on a saucer! We were seated quickly and our food was fresh and hot. The bring out fresh bread to start off with and a big bowl of butter. So good! Then I had the Stromboli and it was amazing. I came to Gino's for lunch this week and overall, the experience was meh at best. We met a friend for lunch and were quickly asked for our order. I ordered the meat ravioli and my mom had the chicken fettuccine alfredo (which itself isn't Italian, but anyway). Both dishes came out blazingly fast--honestly, too fast to have been properly cooked fresh. My ravioli was relatively flavorless, with a sauce that, as others have said, was unusually sweet and a little runny. There was a ton of cheese atop the ravioli, which also contained only a tiny portion of actual meat. I thought about adding some Parmesan until I realized that they didn't offer freshly grated cheese and rather had cheese shakers on the table, a la pizza restaurant. Needless to say, no cheese was added. The chicken fettuccine was more lackluster. I tasted it and waited for flavor to hit...but it never happened. There was chicken, and there were noodles, but there was nothing harmonizing them. Our server did stop by several times and was friendly, but I can't say that we would return for he food. I went on a Friday around 2 and we had the place to ourselves. I had the tomato basil soup, it was good. We ordered... I don't recall which one but it was a pizza with spinach and chicken and feta I think. Wow, the crust on this pizza was amazing. I will definitely be back. The service was friendly and attentive and the ambience was acceptable. With the name Gino's one would think there be an authentic taste to the food. As usual, I got the speghetti and meatballs. If a restaurant can make good pasta, that's a good start. The pasta was over cooked, the sauce was bland, and the meatballs lacked substance. Overall the food was good and the price was reasonable. I came here about 11:50ish right before they got a little lunch rush. I got the eggplant parmigiana. They lost a star because the side salad they brought out was soggy and wilted. I did not eat it. The owner did come over and apologize for the salad and wanted to make it right. Sweet guy. The rolls tasted stale and old. Atmosphere was nice, lighting just a bit dim for lunch time. My server was really sweet and quick. Got my food quick and it was piping hot! It was recommended to visit this place. I was told about it's authentic Italian sauce and delicious homemade pasta. And yes, I bit on those words like a Tasmanian on a chicken leg. Never stopping to think that such a long distance to go eat could ripe a bad experience. Upon entry we were welcome by the most polite and inviting host. Once we sat down, IT WAS GO TIME! Our waitress knew only one speed...sonic bomb fast! She moved so quickly that when she brought out my calzone it was done on the outside and cold on the inside. Oh how I wished it was done the right way the first time. So I put the speed bump on her and requested for it to be returned. She immediately took it off the table and returned it to the oven During the transition she forgot to ask the normal questions in an apologetic tone. There was no I'm sorry would you like something else? It was like, zoom..."it needs to be reheated." Well for me the problem with reheating is that it could come back overcooked. So after not seeing her for a while I started to wonder what's going on with my food. My family were almost finished eating and now my meal has yet to be served. Finally, my food arrived and she plopped it down in front of me. When the plate dropped it reminded me of a dogs food bowl hitting the floor. I looked up at her and she took off. I looked at the the food and it was a dark brown. The food had been overcooked; but at least it was cooked. I was no longer hungry and so I nibbled on the bread. When the server brought out the check it was coded, like hand written in some type of ancient restaurant language. I saw the numbers on the side next to some shorthand menu items we purchased. I started tallying the numbers and figured the total was reasonable. Once the server left the ticket, there was no polite jester to return. It was more like, I have other tables to serve. During this, i meant to ask for another sprite; but the server stayed in the back for awhile. I saw another male server and asked him for a sprite. He looked at me like he didn't work there. I looked at him like he worked there. At that very moment our server returned to go to the front and the male server stopped her. He told her I needed a sprite. My server brought me a sprite. So finally when it was time to pay, the server codec was revealed. My price was twice than what was expected. It was not a happy meal not a happy moment. Our first time visiting and a little let down. Our server admitted she was new so we weren't entirely surprised when our order came out wrong, but it was cold to boot - which was unacceptable. The salads came out on plates entirely too small and the Caesar salad was just the house salad with Caesar dressing - all the way down to tomatoes and olives. Their Chicken Marsala is Blechh. They put marinara sauce in the marsala sauce. Let me be clear: dredge chicken in flour and saute. Remove. Add mushrooms, shallots, garlic, maybe onions. Sauté. Add marsala wine to deglaze. Add chicken back in. No where does it include marinara sauce. And The menu did not reference marinara on this item. read more

The description of the manicotti on their menu says that the rolled pasta is filled with ricotta and mozzarella. There was no ricotta to be found, only really chewy mozzarella. The pasta was gummy and the sauce was bland. And it had even tougher mozzarella on top. It was really awful. However the bread was very good. read more

We went on Thursday evening. The parking lot was packed. The adjacent loan business was open but no customers, so the traffic was all Gino's. We asked for recommendations from locals who we didn't know because we were visiting town. All recommended Gino's. Our order consisted of a pizza and an eggplant parmesan. The eggplant was like a nice slice of saddle leather with an excessive amount of bread crumbs. The pizza, $13 gives you a large with all the toppings but you can select from those, had an out of the can (without alteration) sauce and the crust (think bread without salt) was disappointing. The spaghetti that came with the eggplant was overcooked. In all, not edible. Talked with the owner at checkout, who removed the eggplant charge. Thank you for that. The pizza was very reasonably priced, but I only ate one slice and threw away the rest. When we told the server about our expectation and experience, he said he brings comments to the kitchen but they ignore him and tell him he's making it up. Think about that for a minute. Advice to owners: take some of that money, go to Italy, eat at a few places and come home and try to do the same. Check Diners and Driveins for some places to go and eat the way an Italian meal should be made.
