We had a very unpleasant experience with Gino's Long Beach last night. Ordered a pasta dish for a get-together and, for some reason, the Website logged it as a salad with blue cheese. When I called the eatery after receiving the order, the person who answered the phone was rude and unaccommodating, insisting that I had ordered the salad and that was my problem -- case closed. (I would never have ordered it since I'm allergic to blue cheese.) Gino's left us in a jam. Believe it or not, I had to reorder the pasta dish and pay again, though the delivery charge was waived, LOL. Then the rep had the nerve to give me a hard time for not tipping a second time. Garbage customer service, to say the least. We've given Gino's a lot of business over the last few years, but we'll be taking a long break after I was treated like a liar. Pizza was great. Good dough n sauce. Only thing was lots of oil dripping off. I do like that but some people didn't. We had the food delivered it was fast and very polite delivery person. Some one got a sausage hero and they loved it not over cooked bread was perfect. read more

Had the pleasure of finally making it to the famous Gino's of Long Beach. From the moment we walked in , the staff was super friendly. Hellos coming from all sides. I was going to stick with water until the waiter told me about the house made sangria which was so delicious. For an app we went with the meatballs. They were nice. The kids had pizza and pasta. I went with eggplant Parm with tortellini soup, my husband the rigatoni Fiorentina. We took some cannolis and a cappuccino to go. This place is great for families as we saw so many parties with children. A nice dinner spot for sure. It was worth the trip. read more

Used to be the best pizza on Long Island, but when the original owner was there in the 90s and 2000s. New owners cut corners prob to make a profit. Pizza dough js thick, sauce is terrible. Kinda hard to screw up a slice a pizza but they sure did. Will never go back and is a complete ripoff. I'm sure the new owners loving life with a terrible awful product. It's ashame. read more

I love the food but I beg the chef, really beg him to please stop making the chicken parm heros so garlicy. If you want to taste a perfect one, order from Pizziola in Oceanside. I usually come here for their great pizza but decided to have a full dinner instead. The restaurant is split in half so casual dining is on the right and true dining on the left. My friend and I split the penne a la vodka and chicken parm. I have to say, it was so mediocre. The chicken parm was so flat, it just tasted like breadcrumbs. I didn't get the chew i wanted. The penne a la vodka sauce was just fine. Not enough salt or much flavor. I've been coming here for my entire life so this is pretty disappointing. read more

Okay, so I've had pizza from many different places in my 67+ years on this planet ( as opposed to any other planet I may not recall having been on :) and Gino's of Long Beach, of which I was told is the ORIGINAL gino's pizza, is THEEEE BEST Neopolitan Pizza I've had in decades. Even my wife liked it better than any others she has tried ( she's NOT big on pizza ) so we actually drove from Mineola to Long Beach just to get a pie to bring home and devour over the coming week. Next to try will be their Grandma pie. Gino's of Elmont, so far , has been my fav. place for granny, but maybe Long Beach will become my new granny pie place. Ya' never know until you know. Also, the staff was friendly and helpful while willing to chat a bit about the history of Gino's. i would strongly suggest ANYONE wanting a top-of-the-line pizza to stop at Gino's of Long Beach and pick up a slice or two - or a whole pie ( cheaper in the long run ) and party on with a pizza that is hard to beat, if it is at all possible to do. Parking isn't all that easy but we parked in the BK lot a few weeks ago without any troubles. My wife did wait in the vehicle, just in case. read more

Just went Sunday night with hubby and son and so glad we did! Got the last table in the dining room, very spacious, and all the staff was super friendly, our server( Lizeth ?? ) was so incredibly sweet and did a great job. We had some drinks, Caesar salad, soup, slice of regular, chicken parm, penne vodka, chicken francese, and spaghetti pomodoro. Everything was delicious and huge portions. Having grown up in this town, we are long time regulars at Gino's but, of course, because of COVID, we ordered in and wow, what an impressive and warming winter meal we had. Delivered exactly on time, our dinners arrived just short of being hot. One of the meals, chicken parmigiana, was served in an aluminum tin that was placed inside of a plastic one, so that extra bit of attention to detail was much appreciated. The linguini with clam sauce was CHOCK filled with clams that could have been a touch sweeter, but still hit the spot, including the sliced garlic and a touch of tomato. I've been going to Gino's for years, having grown up on the south shore, and went back this past weekend. The good: The grandma slice was a religious experience... the crust is crisp enough to keep the cheese-laden slice from collapsing... which is an impressive feat given the volume of cheese. Disappointing dinner. We went to Gino's last year and I remember it being much better. The pasta dishes are sub par, my local pizzeria does them better and tastier. Red sauce had no flavor; baked ziti just smothered in commercial grade mozzarella which is flavorless and like putty. I guess the thinking is more is better, but really it's not. The bread is flavorless too. Is it just unseasoned pizza dough? My daughter and I barely touched our food and then the waitress packed it to go we immediately threw it away outside. Save your money. Service is good, wait staff works hard. Too bad they have to serve crappy food. read more

Place is garbage, they used to be good but just don't care anymore. I've been going here for basically my whole life but I'm done. Recently ordered delivery and the pizza was cold and there was a long hair on one of the slices, disgusting. Called and spoke to a manager who didn't even seem phased or like they cared and all she said was ok we'll refund me for the one slice. Rating on the food is like a 3.5 star and service was a perfect 5. We had the best server/waitress in all of Long Beach at this place last night-Lisette. Wow she was so welcoming, helpful, and patient despite a prime time dinner crowd and the town on edge with a "no ice and no tap water" mandate due to water issues in town this weekend. Food was pretty good but perhaps not great--we had mussels marinara, pizza and veal parmigiana. Shocked that they don't have Italian Ices to be totally honest, though. Surprisingly excellent authentic Italian food for this long time Long Beach pizzeria restaurant. I recently had a dinner for 4 here, and every entree we ordered was delicious. And the fried zuchinni appetizer was perfect. I enjoyed the Rigatoni Pugliese, delicious and an ample portion. Others enjoyed a chicken entree and raved about it. Service was spot on excellent.Very good dessert selection, I enjoyed the Afogato, espresso coffee poured over Vanilla Ice Cream. Probably one of the best slices of pizza I've ever had. You don't hear that too often from a real New Yorker cause it seems no one puts any effort into making a good slice of pizza these days. This is the 2nd place out in Long Island I've found to have a good slice of pizza. I've also tried their other dishes and have to say I was not disappointed. This place almost feels like an Italian version of cheers- when friends and I walk in, they immediately act as though we are being welcomed back. Our waitress is always so nice and accommodating! I've been here a few times with a Long Beach friend but I wish they would open one up near me! I usually get a chicken, pasta and veggie dish in a nice light vodka sauce which is delicious. Giving these stars to the restaurant portion, not the pizza portion of the place. If it was pizza alone, would be a 1-2 star review. I've had the pizza here more than once & it looks good but I'm always disappointed. Crust is way too thick for me. No thanks. But the restaurant food is really good & the service is always nice. Dined in Monday evening around 7pm, quickly got seated with my husband. Our waitress was quick and attentive, she quickly brought out the bread/butter and water. We ordered the appetizers and that again came out very quick. We got fried calamari and fried mozzarella. The food was delicious however the calamari could be crispier and the sauce under the fried mozzarella is the same as the dipping sauce for the calamari so that repetitive taste was ok. We ordered the chicken parmigiana with the side of penne but instead of the red sauce we got it made with vodka sauce (no prosciutto) and it was amazing, the chicken was nice and garlicky and the melted cheese on top was perfect! Called for a take out order. The guy who answered was rude...didn't even say hello ....just static. After saying hello....he replied with a grunt and I proceeded to give my order. My kid wanted a Meatball Parm hero w Pepperoni and the guy said he couldn't do that. He said I could have peppers, onions, sausages but not Pepperoni. I asked, "Why not?? He just grunted that they don't do that ( my kid gets it all the time there) So....I told him to cancel my order and I told him to take my info out of their computer. Don't sleep on Gino's! Best pizza money can buy in Long Beach. I live in Baltimore now and I go out of my way to get Gino's every time I'm in the area visiting family. The varieties of pizza are also excellent - the veggie pizza, white pizza, and Buffalo chicken pizza are my personal favs but they also know their way around a plain pie, too. Customer service is always polite and efficient - I never have to wait long. Delivery has always been fast, too. Great ambiance makes it a perfect spot for a family outing and outdoor seating is available when weather permits it. read more
