Back again after a long hiatus! Love Muriale's ever since my first visit as a 20 something! Stopped by on a drive from Pittsburgh with my sister on our way back to Charlotte and Greenville, SC. I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you! read more

I can't pass up the manicotti with half meat sauce and half Alfredo for "pink sauce". The service here is excellent - attentive but not annoying. Fairmont, WV. March, 2026. Since 1969, Muriale's Italian Kitchen (and Catering) has been "committed to crafting authentic Italian dishes using time-honored recipes and the freshest ingredients." As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value. read more

I had a Fantastic pumpkin pie cake! This is a good mom and pop Italian place in Fairmont with quick service but expect it to be packed on a Friday night! They have a nice variety of pasta dishes and it felt like your classic Italian American restaurant you know and love. We have been wanting to stop so many times and now was the perfect time. Conner K was our server and turned out to be our bartender. Only because the other was on a break he did not want us to wait. We arrived at a later lunch time so an Old Fashion was perfect right?! We also had some very delicious meals. The Italian Wedding Soup and House Salad was so tasteful and fulfilling. My spouse had Rigatoni with a salad. With the bread that accompanied we may not need dinner. The ambiance almost made me pinch myself to convince me I was not eating in Italy. Tony & I had dinner at Muriales in Fairmont & it did not disappoint! We had our favorite waitress Chloe who also did not disappoint! She is wonderful! We sat in the bar area! Our favorite because of all the TVs. Tony got a Budweiser and I went with Unsweetened Tea with Lemon & Lime. He ordered the Lasagna with a side Salad w zranch dressing & I ordered the Meat filled Ravioli with Side Salad w 1000 Island dressing and they brought a basket of the most delicious bread to share!!! I wanted to be selfish and keep the bread for myself...but the carbs kept me at Bey! Definitely going back again! I'm doing the Lasagna next time! I was hungry for pizza and Muriale's was recommended. I was there for a late lunch and ordered the pizza lunch special. I should have asked more questions. I'm a think crust person and the crust was not only thick but it was a premade crust. The cheese, pepperoni, and sauce were good. I took one bite of crust and ate only the topping. Good service. Move atmosphere. I saw other customers' pasta meals and they looked great. I think I just ordered the wrong food. Dessert was wonderful. read more

A wonderful reunion dinner with friends who flew in to Pittsburgh from Montana and met for a planned dinner at out favorite restaurant in the area. The staff quickly seated our party and we began with a delicious appetizer of sausage and peppers. Exactly how we remembered. The quiet atmosphere was perfect for our dinner.We were given time to visit as we ate our entrees and deserts and coffee. My eggplant parmigiana was crisp and flavorful. The house dressing salad paired nicely. A very good authentic version of Italian cheesecake finished off a perfect night. We stopped at Muriale's on our way home to eastern Pennsylvania. Our neighbors are first generation Sicilian and own a restaurant, so our expectations are pretty high. Muriale's hit the mark! My wife had a spinach ricotta linguine and I had eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti. They were excellent and the leftovers are coming home for our dinner tomorrow! The wine selection was very nice and the service was outstanding. Hope, our server, was very kind and attentive. The walls are adorned with old photos of Italy and Sicily, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. They were very busy, especially for a Tuesday night, but the staff kept up with everyone. We may select Fairmont as a stopover for our next trip to the Midwest, just to be able to visit Muriale's again! read more

So happy we came across this Italian restaurant spontaneously on our road trip in WV. I immediately fell in love with the interior and vibes of the restaurant - so cozy and elegant. Our waitress provided wonderful service and was patient with us. She also gave amazing recommendations! For food, we ordered brushetta for appetizer, which was so tasty! For entrees, we ordered chicken parmesan and sphaghetti with meatballs, which are both flavorful. Leftover chicken parmesan tasted even better. Then for dessert, we got the almond cream cake (similar to tiramisu), which was a great way to end our meal. All in all, we had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back! read more

This was the best lasagna that I have ever had! The sauce was perfectly seasoned, the texture was phenomenal and overall it was in my top 10 foods I've ever eaten. If you are close (even my 2 hours) the food is worth the adventure! I'm so grateful to have been able to taste this food. Also the bread was incredible! If you live near by and haven't eaten here you are missing out on a miracle of a meal. Genuinely could not be more satisfied. And the portions are great! Wonderful service, delicious food and a great location. I had the manicotti lunch special-came with a fresh salad, garlic bread and a meatball. I had to take a small amount home. My husband got the angel hair pasta with marinara sauce-that came with fresh bread and a fresh salad. He took half of it home. Our server, Charlie, gave us a bag for the bread. This restaurant cannot get a high enough review from me. The atmosphere was very nice, cozy and inviting , warm and friendly staff, and the food was phenomenal. Tried this restaurant for the first time for dine in. Overall, very solid 4 - 4.5 star place for me. Very large dining area, friendly and prompt service all around. Also good place to take the kids. The menu is fairly large and includes most things you would expect for the type of restaurant. Most of the food was pretty good. Their sauce is great. Chicken parm very good. Meatball also good, house salads and bread good, all things I would get again. Wasn't a huge fan of the gnocchi, but I might be more critical than others. I don't believe the gnocchi is made fresh daily, tastes more like store bought gnocchi having a more gummy texture. Wasn't totally surprised though most places making and cooking fresh gnocchi usually only have it once or twice a week. The sausage also left something to be desired for me. I'm a big fan of high quality Italian sausage, theirs didn't quite hit the mark. Kind of unusual texture, not really better than what you can get at the grocery store. They had an extensive dessert menu. Tiramisu was great. Overall, I think it's a pretty good spot. Reasonably priced with big portion sizes. Everything isn't great, but some things are. Definitely worth a stop back to try other things on menu. read more

Oh Muriale's, my family was a regular at Muriale's for the brief time we lived in Morgantown and we would make the drive down to this delicious restaurant on the regular. Every time we are passing through the area on a road trip as we live in another state now we always make it a point to stop by and grab a bite and last night was no exception. Driving from Louisville all the way to Maryland we stopped for dinner after a 6 hour drive on a Friday and after a short 10 minute wait we were seated. We didn't need a menu as we already had decided a week in advance what we were going to get. 5 piece chicken wings (so good! Two of the wings were tiny and I'm sure if I said something they would have brought more but I didn't.) 2 small house salads with house dressing (I like ranch more) Split the lobster ravioli (Amazing) And of course 2 baskets of their bread. 2 glasses of wine 2 sodas 2 desserts (the Italian cream cake is perfect) All of that for just under $100 an amazing deal. Coupled with great friendly and fast service there is a reason why we love Muriale's! read more

We were quite surprised at how good this place was. Top notch service and excellent real Italian food. With my vegan wife, Italian restaurants are typically to be avoided, but we were a bit stuck for a meal and so we went in kind of expecting the worst. We were super surprised to be confidently catered for, and it wasn't the usual boring pasta and veggies - the vegan dish was, according to my wife, spectacular. Now to the cocktails. All I can say is "holy cow, they're outstanding". We started by trying one each and we ended up having a much longer stay there while trying several. They were honestly amazing. Ambiance was definitely "date night" - just the right amount of hubbub that you can comfortably speak without raising your voice. People who had finished and were leaving all seemed very happy and delighted with the experience. Great place! read more

Been here many times. Always great Italian food and ambience. Family pictures on every wall and West Virginia University memorabilia. Ate in the bar where the service is quicker (usually), but it's never been slow. If you driving I79 past Fairmont getting off here for lunch or dinner is a must. Since most of the smaller places to eat have closed since covid, this is one of the best left in Fairmont.

We always considered dining at Muriale's a treat. The staff is so professional and responsive to our needs. We love the taste of the food.

This is our favorite Italian restaurant in the area. Being from WV originally, Muriale's is one of my first stops when I arrive in town from North Carolina. The servers are top notch and make you feel valued. On this particular Friday lunch, Savannah was our server. She suggested the fried ravioli appetizer and it did not disappoint! My husband and I love the house salads topped with the most delicious ingredients and the warm bread too. Our 5 year old is a huge fan of the spaghetti and meatballs. I love how this restaurant has remained consistent throughout new ownership. The traditional Italian feel of this restaurant will keep our family returning trip after trip. I've ate Italian food all over the United States including in NY, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and other big cities with large Italian and Italian American populations. I never would have guessed the best Italian food that I've eaten in my life would have come from a random mom and pop type restaurant off a rural road in West Virginia. I will start by saying if this place took reservations I would surely award a 5 star. The place is neatly decorated and the staff was friendly in every area. I really enjoyed the complimentary warm bread, the bruschetta was tasty, and the cheesy bread was good with a red sauce to dip. The salad was also nice with a touch of pepperonis. The white wine by the glass was a perfect Riesling - not too sweet or bitter - generous pour. The veal parmigiana was perfectly breaded and prepared. It was a lot so I got to take it home and have it the next day! I also need to mention about how the Soda tasted. The perfect blend of carbonation which is hard to do. I just kept drinking it. I think I got really full and couldn't even think of dessert although the options sounded so good. I really felt so nice and really enjoyed this trip a lot and it was a nice night out. Love this place. It is a bit more pricier for being in West Virginia but it is on par overall for restaurants. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the red sangrias! They did raise their prices in the past year or two but in my honest opinion it is still worth it. You're looking at around $20/plate. There are cheaper options though. The bread they provide is free with your food if it comes with it. Otherwise you will need to buy it separately. Their soups and salads are fantastic! If you come during the spring, summer, or fall you can set outside overlooking the river. The service is also great most of them. If you're looking for a new place to go that doesn't disappoint then give Muriale's a try. read more

Who knew WV had the best in Italian? This coming from someone who's Mom was from Sicily who schooled my wife in addition to a cooking school in Italy. Muriale's tops the North End in Boston and Arthur's Ave. in the Bronx. If only it wasn't 1000+ miles from out Georgia home....... Started with the house Chianti @$12 for a 9oz pour, homemade Italian bread and house salads with salami, peppers and fresh fixins. Our entrees were the in house pasta ravioli and Bolognese (my wife's unmatched specialty that got a close second here). The coup d'tat was the homemade tiramisu. From beginnng to end (including take homes) Jamie & staff treated us like family and we highly recommend y'all add Muriale's Italian Kitchen to a must stop in you're anywhere near Fairmont, WV! read more
