Yummy! Just love the sauce! They are fast and easy for pick up. The space is smaller, so it is not a big restaurant and this makes eating IN a bit tight. I can believe why his place is still around for many years and it's small but,small does not make a pizza place ingredients does. They only sell pizza ,Calzones garlic knots and beef patties. Grew up a 2 minute walk from this place and moved many years ago. Back then it was phenomenal, and having been back in town and stopping in today, I can happily confirm it's still the best pizza hands down I've ever had. I absolutely love pizza and try it everywhere I go and nothing has held a candle to Gino's. Like other reviews state, the establishment is certainly no frills, but who cares when you are churning out absolute pizza masterpieces. When you walk into a coffee shop, a good one, they all have this district smell, right? Well same goes for this hidden gem. Maybe it's the sauce? Maybe it's the dough, or flour? Maybe it's the oven!? I don't know, but what I do know is that When you walk in, it looks like a hole in the wall, the employees look like those you find in hole in the walls, and the food... banging! Giovanni, the owner of Gino's Pizzeria on South Broadway near the old Park Hill movie theater, was a pleasure to work with. I ordered four pizzas over the phone for pickup. He was eager to help meet dietary restrictions, even to create a pie that was not on his menu. The pizzas were ready exactly when he said they would be, hot out of the oven, and when I got them home, they were perfect. Delicious with a crispy crust! GREAT slice, went last night, totally empty, there should be a line out the door !! Great sauce, cheese, bread ratio. Sauce is a little thick, which is a good thing. Never thought good pizza could come from outside the city.. I put Gino's up against the greats in NYC. Sauce was just right no heartburn afterwards, I am convinced there is greatness in YO. I guess now I have to take the 1 train all the way up here for a good slice. read more

The neighborhood is not the best, but Gino's is a leftover from an era where the neighborhood was considerably better, and it reflects the fact it used to be primarily Italian Americans. Still however the Pizza is AMAZING. The slices are large, hearty and filling. Each slice has the perfect cheese to sauce ratio. The place is small and only makes pizza, and the occasional calzone, pizza roll and zepoles (with any leftover dough). The dough is of the highest quality flour, the cheese is 100% mozzarella made in California and the sauce is a house blend that they make themselves. The BEST slice they make is their plain slice and it accounts for about 75% of their sales. The business is family owned (an uncle and his 2 nephews). They aren't a restaurant, they dont want to serve you pasta, cakes, lasagna and veal cutlets. They are a pizzeria, and ONLY Pizzeria. The fact they dont have tons of toppings is because the majority of people go here for one thing: a good slice of either plain, pepperoni, mushroom or bell pepper Pizza. Try it out, its an amazing place that deserves all the credit it gets, a real Yonkers staple! read more

I would have given 4-5 stars especially because my first and second experience went well. Thanks to the reviews here. My third experience however not so well as far as good customer service. I was not planning on writing a review but I must. My third time there I was served by a young Hispanic looking man, who has not served me before, but he was helpful on getting my two slices but his attitude was on another level. when he served the pizza parts of it was leaning on the countertop, I asked for another one and he said no bc I had already put something on it but it happen so quick has I was putting spices on it that's when I saw parts of the pizza touching the counter tops where customers comin and lean on it and touch it cough sneeze. I don't understand why he had to approach me with rudeness and not care. He was like no, I cant give you another one, now if he had been kind in his words and made me understand but it just seemed like he didn't care. Another guy came out and he agreed to give me another one and told the guy to put another one in the oven. So the guy just threw it in, with annoyance and rudeness. Now If he felt a way about it, thats no way to treat a new customer. I mean who wants to eat a dirty pizza. This is a great spot, the pizza is good and im glad the other guy agreed to give me another one. I don't understand why the first guy had to have such an attitude, I didn't give him attitude. It just put a sour taste on the experience. I hope that he can adjust his attitude with every single customers. Because you never know whos watching.
