We normally don't do buffets, but we had this tradition of doing buffets near home on New Year's Eve. Well, since we haven't been here for 6 years, decided to give it another shot... Well, as soon as I hit the door, I can tell they changed a few things....decor-wise. The area near the entryway wasn't bad...if anything, a bit better? However, the buffet area was way worse. I'd definitely say downscaled. There was absolutely no vibe to the place. Despite the lofty size, it was dead silence. No overhead music...and not many diners either (on a New Year's Eve). In fact, I don't ever recall this place being so quiet. The buffet foods were also downscaled. The foods all just looked so bad...as in TV dinner quality? Some of it didn't even look fresh? In fact, I'm worried about the sushi that I had. They were some of the worst sushi I've ever had...as in EVER HAD!!! Also, they didn't even have some of the items I used to enjoy...liked steamed buns (or maybe I just didn't catch it??). Good thing that they kept the pricing reasonable...about $19 per person? Although I don't recall being blown away by the quality in the past (especially in the past decade), the foods were MUCH better in quality the last time we were here (2020?). It's truly sad because when this place first opened way back when, it was really good. However, with the change of management over the years from Jade to Ginza, things kept dipping downward. My Son Ben told me about taking his 4 kids here and how much they liked it. Then I heard/read where they had some unfavorable food inspections results. Today, I decided to go and determine for myself. I took a photo of their 'A' rating by the SC State Inspectors. I found the place to be very clean. There were actually employees dusting and cleaning while I was there for lunch on a Sunday. When you enter, check-in with the seating hostess. They will bring you a beverage and explain how things work. There will be someone assigned to your table to answer questions and bring additional beverages. You can also pay that person or check-out at the entrance/exit. There is a massive amount of food. I didn't try any of the sushi options but they had a lot. I had the salt/pepper shrimp which was not good. I had the crawfish which was not good. I had the Korean beef which was very good as was the Baow Buns and Shu Mai. The bbq ribs were cold, even though I got there just after 11am when they open. They also have a nice selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. My favorite was the hot and sour soup, it was very good. You can also opt for the Hibachi style where you pick your entree and they cook it on the grill for you. The place is massive with multiple large rooms. They advertise over 150 items on their buffett. It's well lit and they pipe in happy K-Pop music. At $23.85, better bring your appetite and you'll pay by the pound for your 'go box'. Visited on yesterday the food is not as good as it used to be to be. The price is ridiculous. I know they charge for the crab legs but they are not steamed anymore, not sure what it's called but they are mixed in with a thick broth and very messy when trying to eat them. Having past by this location many times , it has been difficult to tell by the crowds or cars in the parking lot due to the trees in front if they are open or busy. This is in front of the Rock Hill Galleria mall. Since Covid many buffets were closed. This was no exception. One day I made it a mission to seek this place out and try everything which was offered. The parking lot was half full. The food was well stocked and the restaurant guest were very busy at the buffet. Since this is a buffet. People will generally be in and out pretty quickly. I guess they have about 300 chairs so the tables rotate very quickly. I have added a few pics of a variety of food but they have so much more. They kept the food fresh and rotated on the food bar the entire time. Best buffet in town. Service was very friendly and removed all plates quickly. I would definitely recommend to everyone. We saw a post for this buffet and I've been dying to go to see what the hype is about. I've been to a few buffets in Columbia and I have a favorite so I wanted to see if this could top it. Sadly it didn't but if you have a certain taste for something, definitely try this out. This is the only one I've been to that has crab legs so If you want that and crawfish, this is definitely your spot. They do also have a way better sushi station than most with rolls, nigiri and sashimi options. There were some things they didn't have that I wanted which was different types of chicken options (I like honey chicken at blossom) and they didn't have coconut shrimp . But they had everything else I typically love at the buffet. Their egg rolls were filling and pretty good with a nice crunch. They had these sesame balls that had a mochi like consistency that I really enjoyed as well. They actually have pork steam buns and shumai that other buffets dont have and they also have a lot of americam options for picky customers and kids. The restaurant itself looked pretty clean and they have a beautiful lobby/waiting area. The pond with Koi fish was so pretty to look at. I'd give it a 6/10 tbh. read more

Came here thinking it might still be Ambers but it's now Ginza which turns out to be delicious too. We were greeted and seated fast and headed straight to the bars. They have so much to choose from even during lunch that we went back and forth a few times. The egg drop soup mixed with wonton was delicious, the shumai was also very good. The fried calamari was amazingly tender and flavorful, salmon and fried fish were good along with the cheesy crab. Most of the things I tried were good but the sweet and sour was a little different than what I'm used to at my local Chinese restaurant. No one at the table liked their meal and there were 6 of us. No fried shrimp, the crab legs were dry and old and even spongy. So was the crab meat in the soups. My mom decided she want chinese buffet today. We heard a lot of good things about Ginza, so we decided to take the trek here. Came in to a very nice and clean restaurant. They have a big selection of sushi and nigiri for a buffet. They also have a hibachi station with about 15-20 items that comes with the buffet. I guess the main attraction was the snow crab legs and crawfish as everybody was in line it. I don't eat shellfish so I can't speak on it but it looked like they keep the crab legs fully stocked most of the time. My mom enjoyed it. The rest of the food was typical American Chinese buffet. I can say they have alot of options and the food look always fresh. The restaurant itself is pretty big. Our waitress was attentive and cleared every plate as we finish. A very nice buffet and Hibachi restaurant that features a great sushi bar plus a great assortment of buffet items. No menu here but buffet eat in or take out from the buffet with prices per pound. The restaurant is clean and neat, with a comfortable atmosphere, and staff friendly. Koi fish in water at buffet entrance adds to appeal of restsurant. The food is hot, tasty and features the usual buffet foods one finds at most oriental buffets. Food is presented nicely especially the sushi. We also saw people dining at the Hibachi tables. A lot of fried foods, steamed dishes and the usual soups found here. Prices are reasonable with senior prices, must be over 65. Vegetarians have many choices too. I've been here many times with my family from almost as soon as it opened. The quality has gone bad. The waitress got our drinks and put them on the wrong table and just told us they were on the wrong table rather than handing our drinks to us. She didn't understand English very well. The food is alright. Your standard buffet. Nothing special. Not really fine dining. There is a good selection but I didn't really enjoy the tastes of it and I usually do like Chinese food and the food they offered. I used like coming here but now, I'd rather not. There's old broccoli in some of the dishes, the potatoes had black rotten spots hidden under the cheese, the hibachi is too greasy and medium rare is kinda too dry for my liking. The sushi has too much rice. The ice cream is good though. They're in individual cups and you don't have to worry about germs. Overall, I would not recommend this place especially for the high price, but the decor and the koi pond is nice and I'm glad they haven't changed it. read more

Saw this place a few time passing Walmart and decided to try it out. It looks outdated and run down on the outside but decided to give it a try anyway. The noodles are dry and tasteless. The meats and fish, although saucy on the outside are dry and look old on the inside. Not many vegetable options at all besides potatoes and mushrooms. The buffet bars are kept clean but the food looks like it has been sitting out for a while. Quite good as Chinese buffets go with a very large selection of the usual entrees. The platters were freshly restocked during the lunch hour when I was here and the staff was working to keep the dropped stuff from making the counters look poorly. It also seemed like the entrees were more "protein" and less "filler" meaning that the chicken and broccoli was not 3/4th broccoli with 1/4 chicken. That's a good thing. The restaurant itself is roomy and the seating is comfortable enough. Where I was had a bit of wifi from the neighboring Chick-Fil-A, though YMMV. The sushi offerings were nothing particularly special. A few rolls made with the wrong kid of rice making them sticky. They were fresh, just rather boring. Desserts were limited. I would like to update my original review as of 10/10/2021. These people don't care about protecting their vulnerable customers from a world wide pandemic. Yeah masking and social distancing DOES suck. And anybody who's anybody hates it. But that's where the similarities cease. Some of us rational thinking people understand that social distancing and masking is a necessary means to and end. So that being said. Amber buffet management...why are you seating people back to back when you have an almost empty dining room? There is no excuse for that. In addition, I have a 1 year old kid who is completely vulnerable. We sat down in our booth without anyone around us. And after 30 minutes there were several people sitting directly behind us in a 10% to capacity dining room! The server was maskless and there were 0 attempts made at keeping the serving utensils sanitary. And let me tell you guys something as equally disturbing... THE FOOD IS NOW HORRIBLE! OMG what happened to you?!! I don't know what happened to their cooks in between this visit and my last but clearly they have taken a turn in the "Ewww" direction. I used to love this buffet. I used to brag about this buffet to anyone who would listen. But as of now, I can truthfully say, I've eaten better meals in my elementary school cafeteria. Wow! What a way to kill something great. I didn't put a single thing on my plate that I enjoyed. Ok well maybe I enjoyed the crayfish a little. And my mom enjoyed her rice. But that was it! Oh and the Koi still looked pretty cool. But the Koi fish aren't on the menu so that's still a horrible bating average for tasty food!
