I wanted to like this place. It has a lot of great potential. My husband and I came here the night we got engaged actually. The food was pretty good. We cooked our meal by ourselves on the grill at our table and they called it "Japanese BBQ." I'm only familiar with Korean BBQ so I was a little thrown off by that name. The beef and broccoli tasted great and my husband really enjoyed the experience after first being skeptical about cooking his own dinner. LOL. The service was speedy and attentive. I believe the restaurant wasn't even half full on a random Tuesday evening. My only complaints are that the ambiance leaves much to be desired and it doesn't feel like an upscale dining experience at all. Especially for what you pay for. I would recommend coming here if you don't have high expectations for ambiance and just want to eat a good meal. I didn't try their sushi but I heard they do a good all you can eat sushi here as well. They seem to serve a fusion of several Asian food experiences.

So i read the negative comments and I just want to say, go and try it for yourself ! It was my first time and I loved it! We went at lunch time and it was 24.99 for all you can eat shabu shabu and bbq! The beef for the bbq was my freaking favorite. Our pots stayed hot the entire time and our waiter checked on us every 15 mins! I can't wait for the winter time I already know their going to be so busy! We will definitely be back!

Great new place. Love hotpot. Service is super friendly. New workers making a few mistakes but nothing bad. Good atmosphere. Clean bathrooms.

Accommodating: Meh. We had a party of 9 and we felt squished. Not sure if it was a tactic to keep the orders small, but it was very cramped once all of our food came out. It was clean, and the neighboring tables were spaced out so that was a plus. 3/5 Hosts: Friendly and LOUD. Their English was not perfect but that's ok...but they kept screaming at us. We laughed about it but it was definitely something others should know if you want peaceful ambience. Ya ain't gettin' it hurr. They were very kind though, made recommendations, and gave us plates for dessert that we brought to the restaurant. They even gave my husband free mochi ice cream for his bday. Cute. 4/5 Menu: Vast. We chose AYCE Shabu shabu, grill, and sushi. We paid 'dinner' prices bc it was a Sunday but it was still awesome value for the amount of food we got! The sushi was 'fusion-style' but it was still really yummy. (I have lived in Japan and know there is no comparison, but we are stuck in Utah...it's awesome considering, ok?) Food: Shabu - decent. Many choices of broth, meats, and veggies. Enoki mushrooms and prime rib were 2 ingredients we wanted but were not allowed for this special. Regular mushrooms were offered instead and the beef ribs were legit. The BAD? The flames under the pots were so HIGH for some of us, it melted some of our water cups and ingredient bowls. There is no way to adjust the heat. Inferno or no-ferno. Lol. Grill - the grills are shared and are small. We had a grill between the 3 of us. It was ok bc we ordered so much sushi and a ton of ingredients! Our tables were PACKED! Oh, appetizers included - edamame. If you want to order other apps, it's extra. We ate until we were tired. We stayed for 2.5 hours mostly bc it did take a while for them to prep our orders. Once they came out though, whew! The food was all over the place! Our bill for 9 people was $380 + 3 bottles of beer (someone else paid for those). The room had a good temperature, the waitstaff were nice (aside from all the screaming of our orders ) and the price is very reasonable for what you get. I mean, AYCE! Would I go back? Mos def. Will they scream? Mos def. Do I recommend this place? Totally! Go! We had a great time.

There is nothing bad I can say about this place! The food 10/10 The service 12/10 The restaurant 10/10 Everything we got was so delicious and the brought it out fast! The broth was DEVINE!! The sushi was great the veggies fresh and delicious literally we tried everything! It was soooo good! This is our new GO TO place! We had the younger gentleman as our waiter and he was so kind and stayed on top of everything! We definitely recommend the beef marinade and not, but the chicken was good too! We ate a million times more then we should have but it was because we couldn't stop it was so so good!! Highly highly recommend!!! There is so plenty of seating options as well. My husband and I are on the bigger side and we both fit in a booth, but they also have pull out chairs and bar style seating as well. There's nothing short of perfection here! Literally everything we ate was a 100% good! The prices are great! We got the #4 which is the hot pot and sushi together and their lunch price was $28 I believe the dinner is $36. We recommend only choosing hot pot or sushi and not doing both because it was a TON of food. But it was so good to try everything for our first time going! It was amazingn thank you Ginza for the best experience!!

Warning! Don't come here unless you have a big appetite! There is more food than you can imagine and, if you're like me, you may not want to waste anything. I suppose you could order off the a la carte menu, but that's not what you do at these places. Get the all you can eat and plan to eat a lot. For those that have never been to a Shabu Shabu place, you are given a hot pot of broth and a huge assortment of raw veggies and thinly sliced meats that you cook yourself. You can choose which items to order, including sushi. Everything is very fresh and tasty. My friend and I enjoyed beef, chicken, pork, seafood and all the veggies and noodles we could handle. We were a little surprised that the shrimp was REALLY big and still had the eyes on them. As adventurous as we were (we ate the octopus), the fully intact MASSIVE shrimp was a little too much for us. But everything else was delicious. The service is great-people kept checking on us, asking if we wanted more food, and kept our drinks refilled. I will absolutely come back again.

Came here for a birthday celebration and it was a nice quaint perfect lunch date getaway. The staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. They explained the menu real well and also offered some recommendations. It was just what we needed for an exclusive lunch rendezvous. Perfect spot for an intimate 1 to 2-hour setting to catch up with an old friend or a get to know your date. I've always loved shabu shabu and this was a great find! Would love to come back and explore other entrees on the menu next time we are in the area!

This place is probably my favorite Shabu Shabu I've had so far. The tonkatsu is my go to base soup always and it's consistent and good. Downside is having to restart your fire because table doesn't include their own heaters to keep the water boiling instead they use a fire base. But for me I usually only have to relight it once. They have a variety of sides to put into the soup and even have the option of Japanese bbq and sushi and you can choose between which ones you want to have for AYCE. The food has always been delicious to me. It gets busy during dinner time so I recommend making reservations beforehand.

Japanese style barbecue was all great! All the ingredients are very fresh. My family really enjoy dining here. shabu shabu has too much broth. it took to long to boil. The service was great! Definitely come back again

Sat here for an hour and a half and the broth never boiled once. The grill also took 20 minutes to fully cook the meat.

Sat here for an hour and a half and the broth never boiled once. The grill also took 20 minutes to fully cook the meat. This used to be our favorite shabu shabu place in Utah, but this was truly disappointing. The staff was respectful, but would not do anything to help us with their cooking instruments. We literally had to leave half our food because we were done waiting after the 90 minutes. Feels so bad to have to waste so much food, but we really couldn't stay longer. They wouldn't let us take any of it home. Still paid full price. What a deal... If you eat here, bring your own portable propane grill haha.

It went from review of the day to the first time in my life I didn't leave a tip. We showed up on a Sunday at 2. It wasn't full. Seated immediately. Took a minute to order but that's okay. We ordered hot pot. First mistake is bringing out room temperature broth to heat it. If it were already warm it could have potentially saved the entire experience. Now I came here with a 2 hour window to eat cause I had to meet someone up right after. Our food took a bit to come out. There could've definitely been more gel or whatever they use for their fire. Cooking items took forever! I ordered mine with 10z of Kobe and an extra order of beef (Ginza), two vegetable plates and a seafood plate to share with my guest. I've been here many times and never was it this slow to cook. 2 hours passed and I had to go. I went to pay and asked if some things could be arranged with the check since the two veggie bowls were half full, the seafood plate was untouched, my kobe plate was half eaten and my Ginza beef plate I only had a couple of slices. Pictured is everything that was left uncooked after 2 hours. It cooked THAT slow. The guy said he'd remove the veggie bowls and the seafood plate. I said okay. Shows me the bill--- nothing came off. I asked him if he took anything off and he said no. I asked if at least anything could be arranged for the beef as there was still a lot left. He said no, gave me two to go containers and said take it home. Fuck me! If raw meat wasn't bad enough to throw in a styrofoam container, what about my plate of raw seafood? I show up to pay for the convenience of hot pot not buy ingredients to take it him. Unacceptable AF. I let the person I was supposed to meet up know what happened and luckily they could run another errand and gave me some more time to eat. I sat back down to at least finish all my meat. I asked for the fire refill and he refilled it real nice-probably how it should've been to begin with cause it was finally cooking a little faster and the fire was much bigger. Almost 3 hours, my meat is done (still so much other food left!), the broth is FINALLY simmering and I had to go. Still hungry. I ended up taking care of my errand and a Five Guys happened to be by. I polished my hunger with a burger. Not once during my dining experience was I checked on. I would try to wave at someone, it didn't work. The two times I needed something, I literally got up and walked up to someone to get it. If you're not staffed enough to handle the volume-which wasn't even full capacity, don't seat me or give me a heads up on how long it might take. Consumers don't show up expecting a 3 hr session. There are other good hot pot places. I could use some of that time and go somewhere else, eat and still finish within 3 hours. At the very least I tried to be fair by asking just for something to be taken off and get the shoulder.

Ginza is one of my favorite restaurants in Utah. The food is phenomenal, the prices are incredible for the amount of food you get, the sushi is made fresh to order, and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. If you've never tried hot-pot, I would recommend you try it at Ginza. First, you start by choosing a delicious broth. (I would recommend tonkotsu) Then you choose your meats and/or vegetables. You plop them in the broth, wait for them to cook, and enjoy! The entire experience is so fun and filling.

What are the prices and hours?

Can Ginza accommodate gluten-free customers and if so, what could I safely eat and how do you prevent cross-contamination?

They should be able to. The meats, tofu, variety of vegetables should most likely be gluten-free. I would ask to make sure. Only thing I would be wary of are the broths (assuming you're doing shabu shabu) and the sipping sauces.… Read more

For a date of two people, what would be about average price for a full dinner?

The all you can eat is $17.99 a person, and then if you want drinks, I would say around $50.00 for two people on average.

There were two pricing tiers. Premium was 36.99 and standard was 30.99. Premium offered cuts of wagyu, shrimp paste, and leg of lamb for every 2 persons in your party. There's not a lot to choose from at the bar area, though I admit that I am pretty impressed by their ramyun collection. Their crabs were literally minuscle, and I find it extraneous that they serve their noodles in bits. Yeah, you read it right: bits. They cut up their noodles, probably because it is easier to pick up with the tongs. But, is it even noodles at that point? The staff was pretty lethargic today, even though it wasn't busy at all. Took me a while to get their attention for more meats. They do have some great meat, but in my opinion, it really is a hit or miss. Stray away from the meats that start with "MR.
