We ordered through the Yelp app, and picked up the food. They didn't read any of the special instructions, which kind of sucked. We asked for no cucumber on any of the rolls, but apparently they didn't get a print out of the special instructions. The food itself was, ok. The place seemed pretty cool inside. Probably the best sushi restaurant in sarasota and its all you can eat the golden california roll just MELTS IN YOUR MOUTH with a great tangy taste. The service is outstanding . There is also a great variety of food other than sushi. There dessert menu is pretty good with fried banana. Everytime we go out and eat and we try to go to a new restaurant, we always end up at this one! I was never a fan of sushi but one I came here I never stopped eating! 11/10 recommend this place it's the most delicious place ever. I got the Spicy Maki Combo. 3 rolls (salmon, tuna, crab) with a salad, it was more food than I could eat and only $12.75. The rolls were very meaty too, not just rice. Definitely will be back and want to try more of the menu. read more

My first visit to Ginza left me with little desire to come back. At first the all you can eat option sounded good, but I really only wanted 3 small rolls. My server let me know that I was able to just order my regular veggie rolls (avacado, sweet potato) at 5$ each and not pay the $25 all you can eat price. When it was time to order, a different server came to the table. The food was dry and resembled gas station sushi. A third server came to the table to give us our checks, my bill said 3 rolls were actually $25, instead of $15. I said fine, payed my tab because I didn't know which server to ask for help, as we had 3 different ones at the table. The staff was already mopping the floors with bleach and pulling out tables to clean them, even when the door said the restaurant wasn't closed for another 30 minutes, at the time we were paying our checks. Definitely not the best way to send guests on their way home. $32 for 3 veggie rolls is definitely not right. read more

Went to Ginza with a large group and we had two waiters. I think my waiter forgot to put our orders in because my side of the table wasn't getting any food at first, but the other side was. I ordered from the a la carte menu and got the Chicken Teriyaki, which was only okay, the chicken was rubbery. Also, I think it made me sick the next day, because my other friend who also got a chicken dish got sick. My favorite thing was the donuts. They were really good. I think the wait staff (other than the first mishap) did a great job. But they did try to rush us out because they had a reservation for our table even though we weren't ready to leave. read more

Best value in Sarasota if you enjoy Sushi or Asian food in general. A solid deal at dinner $25 ($13 at lunch!) for all-you-can-eat... not only sushi, but the ENTIRE DINNER MENU made to order! Always delivered on point and quick even with a large group of friends. I find myself here frequently with friends or on a date. Only down side is the bathroom which at some points can be a little messy. read more

Good food but awful service. I wanted to give this place one more try after going once before and had bad service. The restaurant was not busy but the wait staff would not wait on our table. They would look at us and walk past. I had to ask for a server. Luckily I was sitting at the sushi bar so was able to get my food ordered from the sushi chef but the service was so bad, I won't be back. Training is needed for every one of the servers in there. As its finally the off season and I really wanted to wait till the Snowbirds flew home I decided to try GINZA! Hearing mixed reviews I was quite anxious to see for myself what this restaurant offered. I thought this restaurant was absolutely fantastic! Sat at the Sushi bar, and started with a signature roll. Very nicely presented, and it tasted fresh and delicious! The presentation was second to none. Having decided to order the "All you can eat" for $24.95 I asked the Sushi Chef to prepare me an assortment of Suishi.While English obviously wasn't this young Asian man's strong suit it didn't matter as he understood me completely and assembled a dozen nice fresh pieces of tuna, shrimp, yellowtail and other assorted pieces on a pad of nice moist white rice! Ample size pieces and the rice was very fresh. The extra wasabi I asked for was accompanied by a sizable portion of ginger which I devoured between bites of fish! Each piece was fresh and delicious. I then asked for a Spyder roll and this was also quite tasty. While I was eating this the young lady serving me had them prepare Hibachi Steak and Shrimp in the kitchen.Accompanied with pieces of fresh vegetables the portion was quite generous!It was accompanied by a small dish of dipping sauce. At this point I had looked over the extensive menu,and the descriptions of all of the many other hot dishes, soups, salads, appetizers and the numerous other entrees and choices of hand, maki and signature rolls, however after finishing everything On my plate I would have to sample these other flavors on my next visit as I was totally full and couldn't even enjoy a desert. What an enjoyable meal. I've read the other reviews which appear to go from one extreme to the next, but I found all the staff quite pleasant and anxious to be very good hosts which they truly were. While I still love Pacific Rim on Hill View it's nice to try a new experience and this restaurant will definitely be added to my "regular" list in Sarasota. Having dined alone tonight the next time I will visit with others so I can spend more time, and by conversing allow more of a break between courses and allow me to be a bit more glutinous than I was today! All in all this experience definitely warranted 5 stars! read more

This place was ok for what you want. You want all you can eat but they give you more stale rice than they give you fish. The staff was great but I probably won't come back. I didn't try the regular food and if you do not eat all your rolls rice and all they will surcharge you .75 each which I understand. I would rather pay and get better quality food. read more

The food is always fresh and made to order, it isn't all you can eat buffet style. I think their lunch selection is decent considering it's only $13 per person for all you can eat sushi and hibatchi. The dinner menu is bigger but also $25 per person. The volcano roll is delicious but takes a bit longer to make since it's a fried roll. All of their sushi that I have tried is delicious. I have tried the chicken hibatchi once and it was good, but I usually go there for the sushi. The only reason I am not giving a full 5 stars is because the service is hit or miss. There are two servers (Jason and a taller girl with glasses) that are excellent, the rest are average or below. Despite the hit or miss service the food is incredible and I still try to go at least once a month. read more

I will never be back to this place. I've been here a few times and it was alright but this time was not even good. Our service was decent but the sushi was really bad. I didn't even eat most of it. One of the rolls was really fishy tasting and the others just weren't very good. Then the alarm on the door was super loud and kept going off whenever someone walked in the door, no music playing and just not a very good experience. Also when they saw that we had only ate one of the 3 rolls we ordered they should have asked if everything was okay. Usually if you don't eat anything of a meal the server will say was it okay? This was the worse place to eat. We were unaware that dinner was $21 per person. We ordered our drinks...waiter didn't understand, had to ask another waitress. We looked at the menu. We ordered soup, appetizers and our entrees...I ordered the hot and sour, my husband, egg drop soup which was good. But they brought our soup. Appetizers and entrees at the same time...none of these were what we ordered...had them take back and ended up with shrimp and fried rice, no VEGETABLES. The endless sushi option is affordable and has plenty of options including sushi and sashimi but also apps and other entrees!! Scallion pancakes are delicious. Great food and great pricing! saw an ad in a circular so I decided to try it out. I thought at first it was a standard buffett the way the add reads but once you get there it is a different story. You order off a huge menu and then they make the items personally for you. It was fast and the food was great. Had sushi, sashimi, dessert, noodles, etc all prepared fresh for me. The staff was pleasant and quick but we were there early. As the night went on, it became more crowded and the service slowed but still very good. read more

Food is so bland. Never thought I would even say that about hibachi and sushi but it's terrible. Service is non existent waited 30 minutes for a simple philly roll. Also hibachi has little to no vegetables and no rice or noddles at all. Honestly just don't waste your money there are far better hibachi and sushi places. read more

My husband and I always go for the lunch special. The place is great, the sushi is delicious. I have yet to try any of the hibachi or Chinese food they also offer, but friends we took with us said the hibachi was great too. The general tso is sometimes awesome other times it's slimy and gross. The owner is greedy and charges extra if you don't eat all the slimy general tso.. or leave two pieces of sushi on the plate.. prices are already pretty expensive and for what it is I'm no longer a patron. Last time I was there, it seems like the quality went down a bit an the pricing up, but it was still extremely worth it! There is so much assortment of asian cuisine that you can eat until you begin to barf. No, it was the Ginza restaurant in Sarasota not in Ft Myers. Please don't even try to say I don't know what city I was in. It was on Fruitville. I live in Sarasota, I do know where I was eating. I did say the wrong name of the dinner but that was not the point. Original post: This USED TO BE my favorite place for sushi. However, the new $25 price for a "supposed" all you can eat buffet is absolutely RIDICULOUS!! Especially when it is NOT all you can eat. We ordered a chicken dish and got 99% fillers with 3 SMALL pieces of fatty chicken on a small salad plate. When we asked for the next plate, we were told that we HAD to eat all that was on that plate before they would bring the next plate. That alone is insane!! But wait.... there's more. They charge you coming and going. In other words, they'll charge you if you don't finish all of your food, they'll charge you if you ask to box it up ANND they'll charge you for them to throw any food away too!!! I get that most restaurants charge if you want to bring home food from a buffet, that's not my issue. My issue is being charged if you're unable to finish it!! SADLY, I will be in search of another sushi restaurant but I'm sure it won't be that hard Sarasota has a ton of GREAT restaurants that won't treat you like a 3 year old if you can't finish all your meal!!! read more
