Came with a large party of 7 with reservations on a Sunday evening and it was packed...had to wait about 20 minutes. It's a small but comfortable place. The meats were plentiful for all 7 of us, just wished there were more veges. The banchan was unremarkable, with only three selections and a very simple lettuce salad. Located in Waikiki, we walked here for the touristy shopping area. The set meal for 2 cost around $95, but it can easily serve 3 persons as I had left overs for dinner the next day. Bonchon was nice and I liked the tofu soup. The spicy if level of tofu soup was a little weak, like 2 out of 10 spicy but it's ok, they don't want to offend any taste buds. Other than the alley where it's located which wasn't bad it's just not easy to see when walking on the street the place was very nice looking inside. The staff was so attentive and efficient the entire time it was already a pleasure being here. The bbq was just too delicious. All the sides and everything was very tasty. Definitely I wouldn't recommend Seafood pancake(2/5)-you don't have to eat with soy sauce. Enough salty. Hot ston bibimbap(3/5)-it's ok than other food which was we ordered. This is the best Korean BBQ in Waikiki! The food is amazingly delicious and the staff is so friendly, pleasant, and courteous and that makes for a great combination. We always make it a point to dine here every time we vacation in Oahu and they never disappoint. The atmosphere is very cozy, comfy and simple. This is a small place, 8 or 9 tables. We arrived for an early dinner and were sat right away but by the time we were done all the tables were full and there were people waiting outside (Sunday night). They brought a lettuce "salad," which was surprisingly good and 3 sides, one of which is kimchi. Usually there is more banchan at a Korean place but I didn't really miss them. Our meal was DELICIOUS. We had the marinated short ribs (super yummy though a bit fatty), the plain soondubu (which does not have kimchi, btw) and the vegetable dolsot bibimbop (it's not vegetarian, fyi). They also brought lettuce and bean paste for the meat (OG lettuce wraps!). We also had 2 bottles of soju. We had a very enjoyable experience and service was also excellent. To start, the service was great - everyone was super friendly and they even gave us a list of recommendations to check out while we were on the island! We came for dinner (around 5:30 PM) and were seated quickly. We ordered the 2-person $95 deal. For our meats, we got kalbi, brisket, and garlic shrimp and the raw beef bibimbap. The stars of the show for me were the bibimbap - truly perfect with great seasoning and the perfect ratio of rice to veggies - and the garlic shrimp, which were huge! The shrimp were SO garlicky and paired well with all the banchan. I also liked how you get lettuce to wrap the meat in! The brisket was a great cut as well and was thicker than other kinds I've had in the past. Can't go wrong with the kalbi either! Definitely check this place out if you're in the area. My boyfriend and I gave this place a try twice. The first time we tried the raw beef bibimbap. It was underwhelming and lacked seasoning. We did enjoy one of the side dishes and asked for a refill but never received it. (2/5) The second time we tried just raw beef (yukhoe) because we wanted to try it raw since it got cooked when mixed in the bibimbap last time. The meat was frozen and icy, so the sauce they mixed it with couldn't fully marinate the meat. (1/5). And then as we walked out, the manager, or whomever he was, made a snide comment saying, "Next time, order more than one thing." First of all, there will be no next time. Second, we wanted to try multiple dishes throughout our trip in Hawaii so we would share one dish at different places so that we don't get too full at once place. Third, there weren't any customers waiting for a table so it wasn't like we were wasting table space. Both times we went they were not busy. And finally, you served us frozen meat. Saw this restaurant bc we parked by there and intended to go to Tonkatsu Ginza but they weren't accepting anymore tables for the evening. We remembered seeing Ginza Won on the way in and decided let's just go here to eat and we're 100 percent super happy! The arrogance of the individual seating people was incredible. He asked if we had a reservation and we told him we did not. He said there was a three hour wait. We tried to ask him about making a reservation for the following night or the night after and then he said they don't take reservations. We stumbled upon this restaurant late evening Monday night after swimming at Ko Olina. We were starving! When we approached the restaurant, the servers were chillin outside because they had a big rush and it finally died down. They happily took in our group of 7. The hospitality was AMAZING. They treated us like family from the moment we sat down. They even gave us aprons to keep our clothes white! They offered a delicious salad to start with different banchan. Food and service is amazing. Small privately owned off the beaten path location. The father came in the 80s. The family has been working this restaurant ever since and now run by him and his sons/family. You will not be disappointed if you stop here. This was our first time I oahu we will be back just because of them. I don't normally write Yelp reviews but our experience at this restaurant was subpar. We really enjoy eating Korean food and were very excited to dine during our time here. We were sat in a small corner where our party of 5 did not sit comfortably. For over 20 minutes, we tried to get the waiters' attention to get our order taken or simply get our drink order in. Also, we ran out of water at one point and tried to get the waiters' attention again, but were not acknowledged, there were instances where they glanced at us and looked away. We're aware of the higher prices in touristy areas, but the portions were significantly smaller compared to the price. We felt that the experience between Asian/non-Asian customers was significantly different. Overall, the portion size, lack of attentiveness and customer service made us not want to return again. It doesn't have the most glamorous storefront, but it has very caring staff who speaks at least two languages (Korean and Japanese); it doesn't have the best equipment (it can get a bit smoky), but the meat is really fresh and cut with quality in mind. A true Waikiki hidden gem with top notch service and meat quality! They must marinate there meat in something special, because average cuts of meat (especially the Kalbi and pork belly) had so much more flavor compared to other yakiniku spots I've been too. Seriously one of the best on the island! We had an awesome server named Paul, who served us quickly and even had the time to talk story with us and make us feel welcomed while waiting 2-3 other tables! Always had things brought to us right after we asked for it and waters where refilled consistently. Seriously awesome if you get him as your server. As for food, we came in with a group of 9 with at least 3 guys that can pound and left burying at the seems. Even though they don't offer an "all you can eat" option, it's doesn't mean that there sets can't fill you up! We ordered the Set C and still couldn't finish it all! The serving size is above each of the sets and that the best gauge for those looking for what to choose based on party size! Delicious, hole in the wall, family owned type of restaurant. The best kind of foodie find!! ALL the yakiniku meats were really good. I highly recommend getting one of the sets so you can try a little bit of everything. I think our favorite would have to be the pork belly and beef tongue but the sirloin steak and short rib were also soo soft and juicy. (If you're not sure which set to get, you can ask what they recommend. Our waiter Paul was very helpful!) Well, we had to try this place! I mean Korean BBQ in Hawaii. It is a little tricky to find but there are signs next to the Prada store on Waikiki strip. You can also reach it from the alley in the back. It is a small restaurant but quaint. The staff is friendly and attentive. The options were explained to us, now it is a little different from the mainland but it was definitely delicious. The meat was great quality and side dishes were delicious. This is the best kbbq I have ever had! The only downside was finding the restaurant got a little tricky in the pouring rain but once we entered everything went uphill. We were a little scared of the bad Yelp reviews, but wanted Korean without having to leave Waikiki Beach on our last night on Oahu, so decided to give this place a shot. We were pleasantly surprised! We were seated immediately (didn't need a reservation) by the guy who would be our server, a young dude who may or may not have been named Paul. Paul was fantastic and had great vibes. Paul explained the menu to us, but rather than taking his suggestion of ordering a meal set, we just ordered some meat a la carte instead (kalbi and daeji bulgogi). We were glad we did so because the portions were very generous, and there's no way we would've been able to finish a set. We were soon given a few banchan (mostly a couple of types of kimchi as well as pickled ginger) that were tasty. The meat itself was tasty and seasoned decently well. It was a little on the fattier side and cut into rather large pieces, but we didn't mind. Paul did a great job of stopping by periodically to help us with our meat since the pieces were so large. We were totally stuffed at the end, and the bill was super reasonable given how much meat they gave us. The restaurant itself has a homey casual vibe to it, and everyone inside was Korean (a great sign). Right next door is a karaoke joint, so chances are, you will hear loud (and bad) singing throughout your dinner. We didn't mind and actually found it quite funny, but if that's your worst nightmare restaurant atmosphere, this may not be the place for you.
