Meat jun, seafood pajeon, and bibimbap.
    Michael W.

Ranked #6 in the Yelp Top 50 Korean Restaurants in the U.S. is Korea House. Got a chance to try this spot back in April for a special someone's birthday and everything had was amazing. We ordered the meat jun, seafood pajeon, steamed egg pot, galbi-jjim, bibimbap, and the cold noodles in beef broth. They also brought out miyeok-guk and a Choco Pie tower for the birthday girl. Because when in Hawaii, you have to try meat jun, right? At least that's what our thoughtful friends had encouraged us to do so because it's a popular Hawaiian-Korean fusion dish only available in Hawaii. Out of all the bites though, their galbi-jjim stole the show for me. It was tender and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. It was an amazingly prepared dish. Parking seems like a headache. We had gotten a rideshare over and our friend graciously took us back to our hotel but even so, the fact that there's an attendant who has to stop traffic to let you out of their cozy parking lot says a lot. Korea Garden is an amazing spot. It's easy to see how they are not only in the Top 50 of the U.S. but Top 10.

Service was AMAZING as usual!! No one takes care of you the way the Korean aunties here do We came for my boyfriend's birthday and had a great time! The restaurant was clean, bright, and not too noisy. My new favorite Korean restaurant on Oahu!!! They even have uncles in the lot to help you park

This KBBQ is Seoul good. You might even say Korea Garden is my Seoul-mate! The birthday extravaganza continues! More fire, more good eats, and more soup! We got the seafood pajeon, cold noodles in beef broth, meat jun, galbi-jjim, steamed egg pot, and bibimbap. No actual grilling was done but we weren't exactly here for that. We came here to try meat jun and ended up getting a little bit of everything else. Let me tell you something... the galbi-jjim here alone is enough to pay them a visit. If you don't know what galbi-jjim is, let me explain it real quick. Galbi-jjim is a popular Korean dish of tender, braised short ribs, typically beef or pork, cooked in a savory-sweet soy sauce-based liquid with garlic, ginger, and often fruits like pear or apple for sweetness and tenderizing. It was perfectly savory and saucy, fall-off-the-bone tender, and I want to scream just thinking about it. The first bite alone had me sitting back in my seat. Had I been wearing a hat, I would have taken it off and held it over my heart. It was that good. And since it was my birthday, they brought over a complimentary seaweed soup and a tower of Choco Pies. They even sang Happy Birthday to me and made me blush. Solid eats and excellent service. The parking situation seems nerve racking but they have an attendant at both sides of the restaurant that helps stop traffic to help get you out of there which I found pretty cool!

Busy location! Parking is horrible, you'll need to go early or find street parking. Food service and atmosphere is always a blustering.

The food was so good here it made one of our friends start liking KBBQ. The quality of the meat is so good here and cooked nicely. The staff was very attentive and we overall had a really nice time here.

Came here for lunch with my eonnies because one of them loves Korean food but hates to self cook. Got the lunch special, everything was great. I had the soondubu this time and I might like it more than the kimchi jjigae. The variety of banchan was awesome as always, the eonnies enjoyed trying all the different flavors and textures. Pretty sure I have developed an addiction for their kimchi jeon.

A Korean friend told me about this restaurant when I asked him which was the best Korean restaurant in Honolulu. Without hesitation, he said Korea Garden. I never heard of this place but if my friend from Korea says it's good, I'm sure the food is authentic. It's a very big restaurant and there are two entrances. Arrived on a Friday night and this place was packed. They have an amazing ventilation system because with all the grilling that they do, it wasn't smoky, nor did my clothes smell after our meal. My partner and I are beef eaters and were sold on the combo menu. For $99.99. You get a selection of pork belly, brisket, beef tongue, prime rib and sirloin steak. As soon as we ordered, the banchan (sides) came out almost immediately, then our waitress started the grilling. She knew just how to cook the thinly sliced meat to perfection. My favorite was the grilled pork belly with sliced grilled sweet onion. They have a tasty special salt/oil dipping sauce that goes with all the grilled meats. Everything was so yummy and plentiful, we couldn't finish it all. Another good thing about Korea Garden is that parking is very limited. They have an attendant who shows you where to park in the neighboring lots and we felt that if anything went wrong, he'd come running into the restaurant to find us.

If there's one thing Maui lacks it's the amount of good Korean BBQ or any Asian fusion Cuisine. We were trying to find a place that had both Korean food & Jajangmyeon so my sister could have both. Unfortunately they only serve that during lunch we'll have to be back for that when she returns. We eat a lot of Korean BBQ so we get our favorites & basically compare the dishes we know and love. My husband always gets a short rib / Kal Bi Spicy soup or kimchi jiigae. He said they have the best one so far - spicy flavor w/ a good beef flavor. Everything was so yummy tho' my sister had a blast trying food she rarely gets to eat. The service was 5/5 our server was great - he was so helpful as it was our first time here. Explained every banchan to us & checked on us frequently. You can cook the meats yourself but they do have the option to have the kitchen do it for you which is nice when you don't want to cook to enjoy your company or smell like smoke. If you have leftovers be sure to take those home, we did and everything was so tasty the next day including the soup. The parking lot is small & can be tricky if you're not a seasoned driver. There is a parking attendant who does help you in and reverse if needed - thankfully my husband is a pro because I probably would have turned around and not go in or parked far and walked over.

Absolute BEST banchan on Oahu!!!! I've tried many Korean restaurants, but Korea Garden has by far the best! They offer certain banchan that I haven't found anywhere else. Those specialty ones change/rotate but are super good and will require additional visits to experience them all. Ambiance is very nice and clean. The place is pretty large, but it definitely can get crowded and fill up. The staff are normally very friendly and attentive. The yAkiNiKu meat quality is always very good and consistent, but a little on the pricey side. I like to go during lunch and get their soups. Their beef bone broth soup is my favorite along with the spicy beef soup. All dishes go extremely well with their banchan! Would highly recommend! Tips: parking is located in both the front and back of the restaurant. There is usually a parking attendant who will help and instruct on where to park. Lunch time readily has more parking and tables available. Was told the owners are the people who previously owned Choi's Garden..... that's why the banchan is spectacularly good

Our waitress was awesome! We had food allergies in our group and she was very informative and guided us on what was safe and what wasn't. The food was good! It was my first time having Korean food and I was really happy with what I got - can't remember the name of it, but see the picture for a visual. It was rice with beef and veggies with a raw egg on top. I'd definitely go back! The restaurant was much larger inside than it had looked from the front. The place stays very busy!

Korea Garden is for sure top 5 Korean bbq places in town. They are very welcoming, food tastes pretty authentic and you can tell it's made to order and atmosphere here is great as well. All in all a great place to enjoy some good Korean bbq and the service here is A1. Order to table I would say is pretty fast. However if in town and looking for a good place to enjoyed some Korean Bqq trust me when I say this, Korea Garden will do you good and I'm most certain have you coming back for more. Of all the incredible things we have here the kalbi will always get me coming back for more.

Made reservation at 10:30 for lunch on Saturday. Limited parking outside the restaurant. Service was attentive and efficient. We ordered their lunch set menu which serves daily from 10:30-3pm. Restaurant is clean with some good music. 1. BBQ Kalbi Plate ($27.99) - they marinated the Kalbi for 48 hours and it was very tender and juicy. MUST order! 2. Soft Tofu Soup with Seafood ($18.99) - a lot of ingredients inside and the tofu was very silky. 3. BBQ Chicken Ride Bowl ($20.99) - Chicken was very tender and flavorful. Delicious. The highlight was their Banchan. They have the best Banchan on the island. Variety of Chan Chan like fish cake, fried eggplants, kimchi, spinach, seaweed with daikon, potatoes, mashed potatoes, herb jello, etc. Overall Korea Garden is my top 2 affordable Korean restaurant in Hawaii. Everything is so good. I should come more often.

Vibe: It was a rainy day after a long productive day. That means there is a long awaited KBBQ dinner waiting for us! This place hit the spot! Food (5/5): We ordered the seafood pancake, Galbi, brisket, and a plethora of meats. The food came with plenty of banchan to eat with the rest of our food. Everything was well seasoned, tender, and flavorful!! Service (5/5): the servers cook and serve the food for you when they can. They were very attentive and gave us our food quickly. Ambiance (5/5): The parking lot looks small so I can imagine if it's busy, parking may be an issue. However, we can around 8pm and there was plenty of parking. Security watches the lot. Inside of the restaurant looked well kept and spacious. Bathrooms were clean.

The chicken was okay, but not something I'd order again. The spicy sauce was drenched all over the chicken and was very spicy. The regular crispy chicken didn't have enough salt for me and was overcooked.

We were told the waiter was the owner, must be under a new owner and if that's true, his behavior was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend eating somewhere where you're made to feel like an inconvenience. My soon do bu tofu soup was literally thrown onto the table, causing some of it to spilt over on the side. We were not given enough chopsticks, and when we asked for straws because the ones we had broke, his attitude became even worse. He started slamming things around, and when we tried to get his attention, he clearly heard us, laughed, said something under his breath and walked away. Thankfully, the other person working with him came over and helped us. At that point, I couldn't even enjoy my food because of how uncomfortable and unwelcome we felt. I ended up asking for my food to be packed to go. The overall atmosphere felt extremely toxic, rude, and unwelcoming. We are extremely disappointed with our recent experience…read more We've been loyal customers and typically eat here twice a week whenever we're on assignment on the island in the last five years. We have also left two previous positive reviews because we've genuinely enjoyed the food and wanted to support this small business. Earlier this week, we ordered the bulgogi for our kids, but the meat was too chewy and tough making it inedible. Wanting to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, we ordered the bulgogi again the following day and even requested it be cooked well done. Unfortunately, it had the same too chewy and tough texture, and again, could not be eaten. After feeding the kids something else, bathing them, and putting them to bed, I called the restaurant around 10:00 p.m., but they had already closed. I called the next day, and the owner (a lady with glasses) returned my call. Instead of listening to my concerns, she repeatedly interrupted me and spoke in a passive-aggressive, dismissive manner. I was on speakerphone with four other adults in the car, and everyone commented on how unhelpful and condescending the conversation felt. I explained that I wasn't calling simply to complain - I wanted to share feedback because we genuinely care about the restaurant and have supported it for a long time. I even mentioned that I had previously provided constructive feedback about the takeout bowls, which the restaurant later improved. Before I could finish, she cut me off and said, "We're not talking about the to-go bowls right now, are we? We're talking about your bulgogi." She insisted that if I wanted a refund, I needed to return to the restaurant in person, and that if something was wrong in the future, I should come back immediately so they could remake it. Unfortunately, that's simply not realistic for us. We're staying in a hotel with two young children, and the restaurant is about 40 minutes away. By the time we discovered the problem, got the kids settled, and called, making another round trip would have meant roughly 80 minutes of additional driving with tired, hungry children. I understand that mistakes happen, and I wasn't expecting perfection. What disappointed me most was how the concern was handled. This business does not value customer feedback and will never first listen respectfully, even from repeat customers who have consistently supported and recommended them. Sadly, based on this experience with both the food quality and the customer service, we won't be returning.
