Enter a nondescript door and order from an office counter. I got 3lbs of bocconcini and burrata. Reasonably priced and deliciously fresh!

Just picked up from Gioia Cheese Company for the second time in December - if you are looking for fresh delicious mozzarella cheese -- this is the place to go. I had been itching for some burrata, so my friend had recommended this spot. I went through two pounds of burrata in a week and I would dream about Gioia's burrata (yes, it's THAT good). Fresh, creamy, lightly salted, and delicious. This last trip we tried the smoked mozzarella and it is incredibly smoky, but still has their perfectly seasoned mozzarella as the main star. We also got the bocconcini (perfect mozzarella size for skewering caprese with grape/cherry tomatoes) and the ovaline - ovaline is a 4oz which is much better for me to eat in a sitting than the 8oz regular size mozzarellas. So far I have loved everything here. I am so happy to have found this place!!

Couldn't wait to dig into the ricotta. It was goooood.

They were so nice! I bought ricotta, mozzarella and burrata. The ricotta was thick and have a d deep flavor. The mozzarella was delicious and ... I haven't tried the burrata yet. I've only had the one you find at Trader Joe's. I'm excited to taste and see what the difference is.

What an amazing find thanks to social media. First, the youngish guy was sooo knowledgeable and described everything in a tantalizing way without being over the top. He was spot on with his descriptions now that we've eaten. The prices for this freshness and quality simply destroy any retail store. The cheese. The first bite of the burrata screamed "fresh." Nicely salty. Subtly sweet. Smooth and creamy inside. Smoked mozzarella made me think of a pleasant campfire I'd want to sit by. Paired super well with both hot honey and fig butter. The texture of this cheese is simply amazing.

The cheeses here are so soft, fresh, and just plain amazing. You can't beat the quality and price. Price has been consistent and affordable for years. The place can look a bit sketchy because it's not retail area. There is production factory in the back and the area around it are all business stuff. I think most people don't just buy 1, but they're ok with people like me who are only buying onsies twosies.

This is the best place to pick up Burrata. I found this place when a shop in OC was giving out samples and I asked where they got the burrata. The lady told me it was a place in South El Monte. I was shocked when they said South El Monte. I looked it up and have been getting my cheese here ever since. Gioia Cheese Co. is located in a primarily industrial area. I would not recommend to come after dark. They have a few parking spaces on the street and on-site. You walk in, ring the bell, and put in your order. You are in and out in no time. Burrata is the only thing I pick up here but they do sell other cheeses as well. The burrata is always fresh. I splash some olive oil and fresh black pepper and it's delicious. Remember this place is CASH ONLY.

Great hole in the wall place with fresh cheeses at amazing prices. Been going for years.

About 1/3 of the Burrata sold by the pound.

I have been going to Gioia for years to get fresh cheese at a great price. I love the burricotti the most and will pick up the burrata sometimes.

THE BEST CHEESE! BURRATA WAS SO GREAT, I CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK FOR MORE? Okay, this place looks looked creepy as heck, I didn't know where the front entrance or if it was closed, but as soon as I parked and just went for it- it wasn't so bad! Haha. I walked inside, and heard someone speaking Italian (I knew it was Italian because it sounded like somewhat Spanish only classier yet meaner?( hahahaha) Customer service: 10/10 The Italian man was amazing, and asked me what I would like. I said I wanted 1 burrata, and that I was a new customer excited to try their well known cheese! He told me I was going to like it, and to have a nice day. I was literally the last customer and 5 mins shy of closing time! Haha. Food: 11/10 THE BURRATA WAS AMAZING! How do I say this? Okay here it goes- NOT TO BE DRAMATIC BUT This could be the best burrata I've ever tried in my life!! It was creamy, yet form, and a taste I cannot even explain. I added some salt + pepper + olive oil and balsamic glaze. My gosh, i spread it in a cracker and CHEFS KISS! Yum! Price:10/10 I think it's beyond reasonable. I cannot wait to try all the cheeses they offer, they're all priced very fair and I pray it stays that way! All around: 10/10 The location was pretty close, not packed, and perfect for a healthy dinner/ lunch/ or platter for friends and family. . Or like me, a plate for 1 for a day or 2. Haha. Also, a tip? Add pesto. YUMMMMMMM

Fresh Italian cheeses that are served at local restaurants and sold to the public. If you need fresh burrata, ricotta, mascarpone, mozzarella or low-moisture cheeses, come here. You can easily obtain fresh cheese from these fine folks. This is still a family business, and currently affected by the ongoing pandemic. With restaurants doing less business than before, Gioia has slowed down. And that's a real shame because the products here are fantastic and reasonably priced. You can easily have cheese for lasagna, cannoli, pizza, or tiramisu, at a fraction of the price you would pay at the grocery store. What's even better is that the cheese doesn't get packaged until you walk in and ask for it. So it's incredibly fresh...making any dish you make or if you eat it alone by itself, amazing.

Fresh ricotta and mozzarella in tubs, 3 pound fresh provolone ball.
    Anne H.

This is a wholesaler and restaurant supply cheesemaker open to the public with incredible fresh cheeses and low prices so don't sleep on this place. My #1 fav product is the ricotta and you won't find fresher, better or cheaper. You may never have had ricotta this good-- no fillers. When I get the big tub I make lasagne, ricotta cakes and even just spread it on bagel. They have fresh mozzarella in all sizes from pearls to fist size, comes in buckets, though. I did some on skewers with cherry tomato and basil, drizzled with a balsamic reduction for a party. They have Buratta-- I think that's what they are known for. Its affordable and you get a lot. You can get a pint tub of marscapone. The latest I tried is young provolone ball. It's 3 pounds but keeps well wrapped in parchment or .waxed paper. You need air so it won't mold. Just shave off any dried out end and thinly slice for your sandwiches or cube for a snack tray.
