    Tiramisu (don't recommend)

Small parking in rear. Seems like a hidden gem as an Italian deli, we don't have too many of these in this area. Hot sandwiches are chef's kiss. You can make any of their sandwiches into a combo plate for $3 more you get 2 sides (Mombo Meal). Their sides were good but not amazing, personally will be sticking to just their sandwiches. JALAPENO STACK -sooo good! Roast beef, turkey breast and Italian dry salami paired well together. Avocado added perfect creaminess. Their Cheesy Jalapeno Snack Bread is amazing, top had just the right amount of crisp from being toasted. FRUMENTO'S GRILLED PHILLY -opted for half roast beef and half smoked turkey breast and it was just what I needed. Solid hot sandwich. TASTE OF ITALY -a classic cold cut sandwich, it was good but their hot sandwiches were much better. Desserts were a hit or miss here. Tried the Strawberry Cheese cake and that was really good- creamy, airy and not too sweet. Tiramisu was a bust- mainly vanilla cake, bit too sweet, no espresso flavor, cream didn't have any mascarpone cheese flavor at all.

I first tried Frumento's Italian Market & Deli a few years ago while I was pregnant and ordered a tuna sub with the classic mac salad and potato salad. I remember really liking it, but for some reason we hadn't been back in a while. This week my husband couldn't stop talking about wanting an Italian sub, and Frumento's immediately came to mind. We drove down and ordered the '58 Classic and another tuna sub, both as combos. The sides absolutely stole the show. The purple cabbage was so good, the coleslaw wasn't my personal favorite but my husband loved it, the four bean salad was absolutely mouthwatering, and the marinated mushrooms were also delicious. I'm genuinely so glad we have leftovers for tomorrow because I'll definitely be thinking about that bean salad again. We'll absolutely be back!

What We Ordered: -The '58 Italian Classic (6") $10.25 -The Big Goomba (12") $20.95 There aren't many mom-and-pop Italian-American delis left in the San Gabriel Valley, but this classic joint, serving the community since 1958, offers some great Italian-American food. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and deliciousness. It's truly a hidden gem in Montebello. You can choose a 6" Torpedo, 12" Italian Sub, or a 30" Destroyer. I ordered The Big Goomba (12"), which is made up of Capocolo, hard salami, mortadella, prosciutto, provolone cheese, lettuce, pepperoncini, red onion, vinegar/oil dressing, and muffaletta mix. You can choose mild or spicy muffaletta mix. If you want to make any 6" or 12" a Mombo plate, it costs only $3 to add two sides. There are 14 sides to choose from. I asked the staff for recommendations and they suggested pasta salad or antipasto. I went with the Garlic Pesto Potato Salad and Pasta Salad, and they were both superb. The Big Goomba was the way to go, especially with extra hots. My wife thought the flavor was a bit sour due to the balsamic vinegar, but I really enjoyed the healthy portion of spicy muffaletta. We ordered The '58 Italian Classic (6") for my son without the oil and fixings, as we wanted to keep it for the next day. The '58 Italian Classic is made up of Mortadella, Imported Ham, Cotto Salami, and Provolone Cheese. Our son gave it a thumbs up, as it still tasted great the next day. We also got a variety of Torrone flavors (classic, vanilla, and orange) for $.75 each. They all tasted great! I always grab Torrone at an Italian Deli. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and the comfy booths are the way to go. We will definitely be back to Frumento's in the future!

Good old school Italian-American deli and market. As you step in, you are greeted with nothing but smiles all around. The ambience is that of a warm small neighborhood spot despite being located along a fast moving avenue. While small, it's packed with an array of dry and fresh Italian imports, including pasta, sauces, gelato, wine, and the list goes on... they also have fresh sauces, cheeses, among other things if you feel like cooking at home. As for the deli, there's an epic list of cold and hot subs, along with a market case of a variety of freshly made salads. While the sandwich ingredients were solid, I just couldn't get past the bread, which didn't hit for me, especially at the price point. Apart from that, the charm and offerings of this establishment make up for it.

Been here many times but this review is not for their sandwiches. I came by to check out their cold sides and on impulse bought their marinara sauce in the fridge. I enjoyed the purple cabbage salad (crunchy and sour). The dressing in the 4 bean salad tasted straight out of a container. The marinara sauce was the bomb and made our dinner pasta at home something from the restaurant.

Chicken Parmo #1. Spaghetti Marinara with Meatballs

I tried a couple items here and had mixed feelings overall. The spaghetti and meatballs was actually pretty good, especially for the price -- solid portion and satisfying for a casual deli meal. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken parmo sandwich, though. The chicken breast was a bit dry and lacked seasoning, which took away from the overall flavor. That said, it's a small deli with a nice little dining area inside, which is a really nice touch. The staff was also super friendly and welcoming, which definitely adds to the experience. I'd come back to try other items and stick to what they seem to do best.

Love coming to Frumento's. It is one of the family favorite deli to come to. Always pleasant to come in and get greeted with a fresh deli mix of herbs and oil aroma when you walk in. They get busy so lately I have been ordering ahead. They have a nice seating area to eat your food very calm and warming vibes. Tried a few of their sandwiches they are all scrumptious. They have a few desserts I just tried their pistachio cheesecake fire.

Went in for a sandwich, came out with a sandwich, pasta salad, cucumber salad, chips, drink, and gelato! Definitely a hidden gem, so many good things tucked inside. The menu was extensive, I have to come back and try and pizza or pasta. They had a vast selection of drinks, a whole bunch of delicious items. The gelato was amazing! I literally ate it immediately after leaving it was delicious. They have a dine in area as well, but I got to go. Spoke with 2 cashiers they were both very pleasant and patient, Definitely recommend and it's a very good price!!

Classic 1958 Italian Sandwich w/ artichokes & pasta salad. Please note this is only half of the sandwich.

This place is a gem! It's part market with imported Italian goods and part deli. There's a section with seating behind the market. The staff was friendly and greeted us right away. Please note the sandwich portions are massive! A 6 inch here is more like a 10-12 inch anywhere else lol. They put tons of meat in their sandwiches too. Everything was delicious. Since I had no idea how massive a 12 inch sandwich would be, I ordered one and ended up eating only half so I had lunch for the next day. It was awesome. So glad we went here. Definitely going back.

If you're a fan of a solid sandwich and love supporting local, longtime neighborhood spots, Frumento's Italian Deli in Montebello is a must-visit. This place has been around for years, and it's easy to see why -- they do it right. Classic Italian deli vibes, friendly service, and food that hits every time. My go-to is The Big Goomba, and let me tell you, it's a sandwich worth writing home about. Capocollo, hard salami, mortadella, prosciutto, provolone -- layered up with lettuce, red onion, pepperoncini, muffaletta mix, and that perfect vinegar/oil dressing. It's bold, balanced, and full of flavor. I usually go for the 12-inch and end up sharing... but sometimes I don't. No regrets either way. Frumento's is the kind of place that makes you feel good about where your money is going -- a true neighborhood gem that's been holding it down for the community. If you haven't tried it yet, do yourself a favor and go hungry.

We wanted corned beef sandwiches. We were surprised this place has been here forever. They're known to be the sandwich and pasta place. There's an eating area inside. Parking is in the back. Comfortable atmosphere. Service was on point. They are very courteous and polite. Corn beef was okay. It can be juicier and/or flavorful. It's missing something. We would come back to try out the pasta next time and other sandwiches.

We are part of a committee through which we have had sandwiches from Frumentos Italian Deli on several occasions. I had always enjoyed the sandwiches, and wanted to visit them in person! Finally we had an opportunity to stop by. JJ and I split the Italian Club Sandwich, which included smoked ham, turkey breast & Italian bacon with mayo, lettuce, Roma tomato and pepperoncini. We opted to go with the Mombo Plate, which allows you to choose 2 deli salads with any sub (6 or 12 inch) for an additional $3. We selected the potato salad and the cucumber salad. The deli salads are really small. We did not really care for the potato salad, but it was okay and I ate it. The cucumber salad was really good and refreshing. As for the sandwich itself, it was on the dry side and overall was not as good as I had remembered it to be from our meetings. When you enter the deli, you stand in line and place your order at the counter. Service was very good and friendly. You can also dine in, and ambience is very nice and cheerful. There is also convenient parking behind the restaurant. I am not actually sure if I would go back. But if you are in the area you may want to give it a try.

The mashed potatoes were incredibly soft, creamy, and full of flavor. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a cheese pizza for the kids, and both were delicious. The pizzas were cooked in a wood-fired brick oven, and you could really taste the difference. The carbonara was one of my favorite dishes. It came with an egg yolk on top that you mix into the pasta, making it rich, creamy, and flavorful. The lobster linguine was another standout dish. We also ordered the pork wings, which were so tender they practically fell off the bone and were served over delicious mashed potatoes. The mushroom ravioli was unique, comforting, and packed with flavor. We also shared the ribeye steak, which was cooked perfectly and was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

Well, that time FINALLY came! My sister and I were hanging out reminiscing over our late mother together, on her birthday and decided to get Italian food (her favorite). We both agreed Four Bricks would be THE SPOT! Needless to say, we were so right! We were greeted and sat with no reservation at around 4:30pm, thankfully there was no wait at that time. However, the restaurant quickly filled up. Our server was very attentive but not over bearing. For our appetizer, we chose bruschetta. 12/10 The perfectly dressed tomatoes and basil sat on a pillowy burrata cloud and melted in your mouth. YUMMMM!! I opted for the penne ala vodka, while she chose the bolognese. 10/10 The penne w/vodka sauce had a surprising hint of spice that was decadent and savory. The bolognese had a slightly creamier taste without the spice and was equally as flavorful. Finally, we ordered the lemon butter cake. 10/10 When I tell you this cake was delicious ... woahhh!! It was a nice crisp butter cake but the lemon zest paired with the coulis and fruit gave the perfect balance. We were told the restaurant would be closing and that it was the final day of service. Made us both bummed to hear since the hospitality and true Italian food with homemade pasta was such a delight. Impeccable place overall! Good food and the workers are chill. Owner is great too…read more My experience today: I was the second person in when 4 people walked in at approximately 11:33 am. I work a couple minutes away so the drive there is quick which is perfect for my 30 minute lunch break. I tend to either order my food ahead of time so it can be ready and I just pick it up and go or I drive somewhere where I know it's quick and easy because they're not busy or because they have specials ready to pick up. Anyways, After we (the 4 people) walked in ....no one else came in, so it wasn't crazy with a line. I usually come in and get the 2 slice special. Wait is usually nonexistent since the slices are literally ready to put in a box. I was helped by another guy today (black beard, black shirt ) and felt there was no urgency from him during the " lunch hour". The pace was the same if there were 100 people or 1 of us. He took my order I sat down, he helped someone else then someone else then he shuffled some papers and got distracted by a little girl yelling across the street while waiting at the bus stop, then he headed to the back to do whatever and then came back out and answered the phone which is when I walked up and asked for a refund. I waited for a min and he noticed me then started getting the box ready for my slices and I told him to just give me a refund. He asked another guy to come over and he returned my funds back to my card and I kept the receipt and he apologized. I attached the receipt to show the time when I finally walked out 11:43 am 10 minutes after my order for two slices ready to go only a step away from the cashier. I never even got the soda cup to sip on while I waited. I may or may not return. If I do return and I see the gentleman in the black shirt that helped me today I'll just walk out. Most likely I won't be returning off this ONE experience. Do I recommend the food ? Yes Is the staff nice and attentive? Yes, Most of them Make what you want with this review but this was my experience today. I would've put this at a 4/5 review based of my past experiences but today made me drop it to 3/5. Hope this restaurant does well. I know it's hard for businesses to exist with the current economy which would make you think people should be thankful for their jobs and their income. Put a smile on, talk to the people coming in and put a little pep to your step when the lunch hour starts. Best of luck Tony's Italian delicatessen

Recently, my son and I have been making pizzas on Friday nights as a bonding experience while my wife is out with friends. We make some, buy one, and compare. My son usually prefers his homemade, but Petrillo's is the exception! He loved the cheesy cheese pizza and the amazing cheese pull. I ordered half cheese and half their specialty pizza, which includes mozzarella, Romano cheese, house tomato sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, mushrooms, onions, and green bell peppers. Their small pizza is 12 inches and has 8 slices, which is much larger than other places. Petrillo's Specialty Pizza is stacked with generous toppings and has a doughy but crispy bottom - the best of both worlds. I enjoyed the Specialty pizza, especially the Italian sausage. While I'm not a mushroom fan, I ate them anyway. I'll likely hold off on mushrooms next time. They provide generous amounts of complimentary crushed red pepper packets, paper plates, and napkins. Parmesan cheese packets cost extra, about $0.50 each, if I remember correctly. The staff were friendly and are local residents, which is always great to see in a mom-and-pop business. You can eat in or order from the take-out counter on the right side. It's best to order ahead to avoid a 20-25 minute wait. My only minor complaint was the pizza was a bit sloppy when I took a picture, but I understand they're busy getting orders out. I will definitely be back to Petrillo's for pizza!

They didn't even make the order until I got there at 7:05 . I'm pregnant. I went inside. I told her that I needed to leave so I needed a refund even though I really wanted the food, the cashier scoffed at me and rolled her eyes. I explained again that I just really needed to leave because I was gonna be late, she called her manager out, and he just walked out yelling at me without even understanding what was happening, they were super rude, ultimately he told her to give me my money back and she started counting and had no idea how much money to give me back so she closed the register and without saying anything to me she left again made me wait another five minutes for her to come back while he taught her how to make basic change and so I yelled back at them to just give me my money so I could leave ,the cashier called me an ugly ass bitch and she stole my money, so much for good customer service yeah this is the worst place ever don't go here. They're just gonna rip you off and I treat you like crap mind you she already had my food in her hand, but she wouldn't give it to me.. they shorted me 20 bucks My husband had to go in there to tell them to not disrespect me, and the little cashier yelled more profanities. I called when I left and and talked to a manager and explain to him about his insane cashier, and he told me to come back for my money but I don't want I go near that place ever again. Keep my money and hire people who can do basic math and know human decency.

He always makes us laugh and smile and improves the entire experience. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does as a chef and puts his whole heart and soul into each dish. Jesse also is quick to answer any questions we have regarding the food, especially with how to reheat certain dishes at home later. The staff at Uovo is incredible and you can tell they want you to have the best experience. The environment has always been welcoming and kind. Further, the staff is extremely accommodating with any and all allergies/food restrictions. My mom is vegan and I'm vegetarian, and that has never been an issue at all. We've never left feeling bloated or sick once. If there is a long wait during the rush hours, their staff upfront is prompt and alerts you immediately when your table/seat at the bar is ready. Oftentimes, the wait they tell us is usually longer than what we end up actually waiting, so they're all very efficient.

It was a nice day so we opted to sit outside on their patio which was all under shade so it was cool, they even had misters above, thankfully we weren't right under cause the table in front of us was getting hit with all the mist hahaha My coworker & I got "The Classic" off the tasting menu! It came with their yellowtail crudo, pomodorini e basilico, vongole, pomodoro & for dessert the panna cottage alle fragole!! I'm so glad we got this, the portions were excellent, everything was so yummy! I will say the yellowtail fish was good but I'm not a huge fan of how it was drenched in the olive oil, but I guess that's how the Italian restaurants do it! Maybe I'm use to the Asian restaurant yellowtails! The pomordo pasta was my fave so cheesy & tasty but also love the pomodroini with all the fresh tomatoes, perfect summery pasta!! Light & fresh! The dessert was fantastic! The strawberry panna cotta was sooo good, light, creamy, sweet, mmm so good I would recommend getting off their tasting menu so you can try a bit of everything (: I will definitely return & when I do I'll probably try a different option off their tasting menu!
