Little hole in the wall with the best food in town. Italy in LA. Cash only. The place gets busy. Employees friendly with good service.

One of the best local hidden gems in the 626! I've been coming to Ravello osteria for years. ABSOLUTELY love their pizzas. Recently came on a Tuesday night around 6:30 PM, and surprisingly it wasn't as busy. We came to celebrate a birthday. The decor is very vintage, they have a huge brick pizza oven, which is where the magic happens. It appears that their menu has rotates seasonally because the first time I came perhaps a year ago, we had the pork chop. In our recent visit we had the ribeye. Ribeye is AMAZING by the way, highly recommended by our server. Huge shoutout to our server Meena, who really went above and beyond, he was the star of the night. My favorite pizza from Ravello osteria--the Porco pizza. Must have. It's surely something about their dough that leaves an everlasting impression. So much that I've ordered delivery and takeout many times. One thing Meena also recommended was the seabass. However, this was only available on the weekends. Heads up, this place is CASH ONLY! Make sure you have cash! They also close on Mondays. It also can get quite busy during peak hours on the weekends. Last tip--it can get hot in there during the summer. Parking can be found on the street in front, or you could gamble and park in the back in Dollar Tree's lot (I typically do this).

Food: 3.5/5: Overall the New York pizza was great, pistachio a little salty for my likely, the pasta lobster was a bit too salty for me as well. But overall enjoyed the dishes. Service 5/5: Staff is stellar, very friendly and knew their menu! Team was very quick also! Ambiance 4/5: Decor was rustic, nice photos, love the view of the oven and team preparing the dishes.

CASH ONLY - A new, "go-to" Italian spot for me! Delicious dishes! Go try this place and be ready to wait on a Saturday night (table for 4 waited 30min, no reservation). Best dish of the night: Penne with Nduja Sausage and peppers (whole table could not stop eating it. Fav dish for 3 of 4 guests!) We ordered: Baby Mix Salad, spaghetti carbonara, penne w sausage and peppers, and truffle pizza Other highlights, raspberry vinaigrette on the baby mix salad was perfectly light and flavorful. Carbonara was a strong, hearty, SOLID dish. Pizza was also tasty and thinner, Neapolitan style. Ambiance, busy and on the louder side, but that could have been our luck with the table next to us. Dishes on the higher side of $20+ so be prepared for a nicer evening out. The quality of the food is worth the price tag. Would go again!

CASH ONLY and worth it. We dined on a Tuesday around 12:30p there were about 3 other tables besides us. We were a party of 8 and food came out at a reasonable amount of time, entire table's order arrived within 20-25 minutes. Starter bread was so good! It's flat bread drizzled with olive oil and pesto. Perfect amount of crisp and chew. We loved it so much we ordered a large pie of it.. Meatballs Provencal -meatballs were so tender and melt in your mouth, so flavorful. Pork Osso Buco -so tender, fall of the bone! Garlic mash potatoes was so creamy but wasn't mashed fully and you get small chunks of potatoes which I personally prefer. The Asian in me wished we had a side of white rice to pair all the yummy gravy with. Penne Pasta with Organic Chicken -mushroom lover's dream. Sauce was so creamy and tons of mushroom and tender chicken thigh meat. Pasta really absorbed the amazing sauce. Spaghetti with Lobster -great dish and everything ties well together. Tastes just like what you imagine it to taste like. Fennel House Pizza -greens really added some freshness to the salty prosciutto, great balance. Pizza dough is so good; crispy bottom with just the right amount of chew. Calabrian House Pizza -slight kick which added so much flavor. One of our favorites. New York House Pizza -basil adds some freshness to a meat lover's pizza. Simple with a twist.

Was worried it would be super crowded. When I drive by there seems to always be a wait but it was surprisingly roomy inside. They have a few cramped parking spots in the back of the restaurant. I got their mushroom pizza without meat and their mushroom ravioli. The pizza had great dough and thankfully they let us take off the meat. Besides a build your own pizza, there are otherwise no vegetarian options. The mushroom ravioli was my favorite and divine. The umami was in the cheese inside and the sauce on top. Just know that it's in the appetizer section and it's only 4 pieces. Still very rich and filling. Pizza was good as well, not amazing but has good dough. Definitely a few steps above chain pizzas or quick service.

The food is bomb. Cash only. No half-pizza options. It gets packed on weekdays. The Spaghetti Carbonara is very good, and the pizza has a crunchy crust.

Sausage pizza with one sausage per slice

Excellent Italian food. All pasta's that I tried is real good especially the regular spaghetti. Two stars knocked off cause you all need to do better on your pizza's. The sausage pizza had one piece of sausage per slice and that is totally unacceptable. Other then that pizza is pretty good

Traditional, no frills Italian eatery in the area serves wood fire pizza, fresh pasta dishes, and other food items. We enjoyed our dining experience at Ravello. Didn't mind the wait as it was a Saturday evening. We waited about 15 min before being sat down at one of their communal tables. I actually enjoyed this because everyone from the staff to other guests were super friendly. We ordered a 16 inch New York Pizza and the Spaghetti Carbonara. Everything cooked to perfection. The pizza was quick and the pasta had a nice chew in the noodle that you can only get from fresh pasta. Our server recommended the spicy yellow sauce condiment to enjoy with our pizza and it was yummy! We did enjoy some of their complimentary pizza bread with pesto, but didn't want to spoil our appetite since we were getting pizza. It was yummy too. Everything tasted fresh and we enjoyed our meal! I think the only thing I would say is that the restaurant could use more AC or ventilation because it can be a little stuffy, but it's not a big deal and wouldn't prevent us from going there again. Like everyone also says... cash only and there is an atm in the restaurant. Again, not a big deal.

Old-school Italian spot tucked away at the edge of South Monterey Park in a slightly rundown area. Came for Mother's Day dinner with a party of 11 on a Sunday at 5 PM. Not crowded when we arrived since they open at 5--seated right away. Few long bench tables that's great for big groups. Small parking lot + some street parking. Entire party must be present to be seated. Heads up: CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM inside. Inside feels a little dated. Waiter was friendly and checked in often. Food we ordered: - Pork wings - 5 pork shanks over mashed potatoes, decent size but too much balsamic; too sweet -Arugula salad & chopped salad - fresh, not overdressed -Penne w/ chicken - favorite dish of the night; rich truffle/mushroom flavor, buttery white wine sauce -Spaghetti carbonara - 2nd favorite; solid flavor -Penne w/ sausage - had a kick but a bit oily and missing something -Bolognese pappardelle - skip this; white bolognese tasted off, weird pappardelle texture -Pizzas (fennel, calabrian, pistachio & mortadella) - all just okay; calabrian had the most flavor/spice, fennel lacked topping/flavor, pistachio one was mid and needed more pistachio taste Overall: decent choice if you're craving Italian in the area. Not many Italian spots nearby. Feels very traditional/rustic. Dishes were fairly priced and good portions. Just wish they took card.

We ordered New York Pizza, Pork Osso Buco, and Pistachio and Mottadella Pizza. Food came at appropriate time and tasted good. Food portions are large. We could not finish it. Services were great, friendly and attentive. The restaurant is quite busy. This is a cash only restaurant. Parking on side of Garfield Ave. or in the plaza next to the restaurant. The restaurant is nice and clean.

I forget how great this place is and it's in the heart of SGV. Never disappoints me when it comes to their pastas and pizza. The wood fire oven can be seen as you walk in the venue. Service is very good, and I live the complimentary side bread and pesto sauce to start as starters. Bolognese Papperdelle - this is my favorite dish there, super creamy and full of flavor. The pasta was cooked to perfection. New York Pizza- crust was crispy, all the topping were phenomenal. Cheese was delicious especially. I wish we came with more friends to share or try other entrees, but I'll definitely will come back.

The lady who takes our order takes a while to take yoir order cause she spends it talking to the people who make the food. We ordered two pasta bowls and we got our order later than a ground who came in 4 minutes later. I asked the lady if she could a order of a margarita pizza in five minutes from now to go. That was at 12:23. We were done eating at 12:41 pm and once we paid. THAT'S when we saw the guy start making the pizza. At home for dinner we were going to start warming up our pizza. The pizza had small pieces of veggies. Its the worth the prize there, honestly. 2 bows. 25 dollars each? Never again and the ambiance isn't all that great. I would rather hear italian music than old rock music. I love rock music but, for that price. I expected better art and music.

They use the same parking lot as Summerfield so it can get busy at some times. I called in to place an order for dinner and it was super easy and convenient. I ordered their Di Pilla Special pizza and a medium Parpadelle special pasta. The total for these dishes came out to be $62. Their portions are quite large since they're a family style restaurant. They also gave us complimentary bread which tasted amazing! I will say that I felt really heavy and full after this meal so this is definitely a cheat meal type of food. Food: Parpadelle Special Pasta (9/10): The noodles are huge and thick and the sauce gets absorbed perfectly. There's mushrooms, spinach, chicken with a white sauce base. They loaded this dish up with sauce which was heavenly. I even dipped my complimentary bread in the sauce because it just tasted that good. The chicken was so soft and wasn't overcooked at all. Between a family of three, there was a perfect amount and didn't have any leftovers. Di Pilla Special Pizza (9/10): Wow, the amount of toppings? Insane. We ordered the medium size which is a 14 inch. There was pepperoni, green peppers, mushrooms, onions, hamburger, and bacon. I had to go back to their menu to see what toppings there were because wow was there a load full. I thought that the mushroom and bell pepper did overpower most of the slice. We had so many slices left over because of how full each slice makes you. I had it the day after and It was still tasty. I need to come back and try their other menu options. They have so many options to choose from which gets overwhelming because everything sounds amazing!

I work a couple minutes away so the drive there is quick which is perfect for my 30 minute lunch break. I tend to either order my food ahead of time so it can be ready and I just pick it up and go or I drive somewhere where I know it's quick and easy because they're not busy or because they have specials ready to pick up. Anyways, After we (the 4 people) walked in ....no one else came in, so it wasn't crazy with a line. I usually come in and get the 2 slice special. Wait is usually nonexistent since the slices are literally ready to put in a box. I was helped by another guy today (black beard, black shirt ) and felt there was no urgency from him during the " lunch hour". The pace was the same if there were 100 people or 1 of us. He took my order I sat down, he helped someone else then someone else then he shuffled some papers and got distracted by a little girl yelling across the street while waiting at the bus stop, then he headed to the back to do whatever and then came back out and answered the phone which is when I walked up and asked for a refund. I waited for a min and he noticed me then started getting the box ready for my slices and I told him to just give me a refund. He asked another guy to come over and he returned my funds back to my card and I kept the receipt and he apologized. I attached the receipt to show the time when I finally walked out 11:43 am 10 minutes after my order for two slices ready to go only a step away from the cashier. I never even got the soda cup to sip on while I waited. I may or may not return. If I do return and I see the gentleman in the black shirt that helped me today I'll just walk out. Most likely I won't be returning off this ONE experience. Do I recommend the food ? Yes Is the staff nice and attentive? Yes, Most of them Make what you want with this review but this was my experience today. I would've put this at a 4/5 review based of my past experiences but today made me drop it to 3/5. Hope this restaurant does well. I know it's hard for businesses to exist with the current economy which would make you think people should be thankful for their jobs and their income. Delightfully understated atmosphere with unique tiles throughout the decor, and we loved that we could hear each other talk and enjoy each other's company. Our server was amazing, she was so knowledgeable while being personable and extremely funny. I assume she's the cook's wife based on the other reviews - I arrived a little after my aunts, so I didn't get a full introduction since they had already secured a table and had ordered some drinks while looking over the menu. I had my eye on 3 different meat dishes - the Roasted Duck Breast, the New Zealand Lamb, and the Angus Beef Ribeye Steak - and my aunts also had each picked 1 of those, so we went family style, and it did not disappoint!! The chef knows how to cook each type of meat to perfection, and the searing pans are doing exactly what they need to be doing! The Roast Duck Breast was AMAZING as cooked to the recommended medium, with delicious crispy skin. The Angus Beef Ribeye Steak at medium rare was as tasty as it was gorgeous! And the New Zealand Lamb was PERFECTION, down to the bone. We also got the gourmet macaroni and cheese as an add-on side, since all the meals come with mashed potatoes and various veggies, and I was in heaven! As someone who used to work at the Disney Parks and frequented the steakhouses and other fine dining both here and in Orlando, Sage Bistro is giving Disney a run for its money when it comes to high-quality meat dishes! The prices reflect both the cut of the meats and the skill of preparation, with it averaging to about $50 each across the 3 of us, which is pretty reasonable for top-tier quality! The only thing I had to be careful about was that many of the dishes have mushrooms, and my throat gets itchy if I eat most mushrooms, so I had to avoid those dishes. During our meal, when I mentioned it to our server for future visits, she was great at noting which dishes could completely be modified to have no mushrooms while also being realistic about acknowledging the dishes that cannot be, which sadly includes the Braised Short Rib that sounds out of this world. But I can have the Beef Rib Soup, so I definitely want to try that next because I WILL BE BACK!!! They also offer takeaway, and were very generous in giving us each a coupon card to use for ordering through their website.

Seeing the server and an Asian staff coming out from kitchen confirmed that the cooking wasn't fully American taste bud. But that is the reason why it hit me very well. Honestly, whether you have American or fusion or Asian taste bud, the taste quality is better than some average American restaurants. I tried the butter squash soup, lamp chop, and bow tie pasta with chicken. I was enjoying my soup and lamp chop a lot. The pasta was pleasant to me, but it wasn't exceptionally great compared to the lamp chop. My fiancé loved the pasta though, saying that the sauce wasn't overwhelming. It is not a cheap place to come for, but it is because the food and drinks (good white wine) have quality. The wait for the entrees was a little long, even though it wasn't that busy. I believe it was the chef spending time to make sure each dish was done well, unlike the busy restaurant where chefs only follow the restaurant's recipes to make it quick and easy. Lastly, the ambience was okay, but it was more an older fine dining/family owned style. It had some nostalgic vibe if you'd take it that way. Keep it up. I really hope it will be there forever long.

For those visiting, note that there are two separate entrances: the main sit-down restaurant is near the parking lot off Valley, while the take-away entrance is around the back.
