I've been coming here since I was kid. Still a solid place to enjoy a slice of pizza or bite from a calzone. Even enjoy a standup coin-op match or two while waiting.

Found this place using Groupon, really good coupon deal you get to $10 coupons for about $12. Located in the middle of old downtown Lubbock, you will find that during peak hours you might not find a good parking place but there are plenty around so keep searching but try not to get t boned because traffic down here is pretty confusing, even for a houstonian. So I finally fired off one of these coupons, no you can only use one per day so I guess I'll be back here tomorrow. The interior is outdated but kind of the old downtown look kind of like Mel's Diner so don't expect a new looking fresh interior. Also condiments are not filled, all of the parmesan cheese canisters were less than half full content, kind of a turn off. Cleanup on aisle two, I guess they burnt something while I was making this review because it's either burnt ass or they toasted a crusty real bad. Since I like supporting mom and pop places and I apologize for going against the grain on this but the top of my pizza was just too girly or it seems undercooked. I could immediately tell just by looking at it and sure enough my confirmation was right. The bottom was well-cooked at least, I do not know if this is a regular thing or not, but not used to this. They also have a coupon special on their flyers and something that caught my eye or like 4 calzonez for $8 or something like that. They have a soda fountain machine here which is delightful to know so you don't have to pay per can or bottle. I have to use the next Groupon off before I leave this town so I guess I'll give here another try to see if I can get something different and things turn out right, Service at the counter was pretty friendly, you get added a star for that.

If you're looking for great pizza and great people behind the pizza, look no further than Giorgio's pizza! I came yesterday to get a slice and really enjoyed talking to the owner and his son. They were super friendly, affable, kind, and even offered me a banana (that wasn't for sale) just because they are cool people. Also, at my age, I should never turn down potassium. The slices of pizza are large (the slices look like they are cut from a 16 or 18 inch pizza), beautifully thin, with just the right amount of toppings. The sauce is wonderfully flavorful. The slices are perfect for eating off the plate or folding in half and going HAAAAAM! Bless this business and the family that owns and operates it. They not only look after their customers, but they also try to look out for unhoused people in the neighborhood as well. I support any business that is about providing excellent service and helping people. Giorgio's pizza and the people within truly make this eatery a memorable place. May many blessing come to this family and all their businesses. They are good people who make good food!

Pizza toppings were undercooked, and the salad is the saddest excuse for a "garden salad", just cheese, diced tomatoes and 4 little carrots thrown on top.

The BEST pizza by the slice and cannolis! The crust is the perfect thickness to fold and the toppings are impeccable. And at $3 for a slice who could resist?! The cannolis are absolutely delicious, you can't just have one! The customer service is top notch and we will DEFINITELY be back!

Meats pizza was delectably exquisite and simple.. all flavors accounted for and didn't skip a beat

4.689 STAR!!! One of the most down to earth services we have received to this point. The peeps over at Woody's always showing love and Giorgio's is up there with them. No conglomerate mumbo jumbo here. DELIVERY AND PRICING: THE MEATS PIZZA: WELL DONE The use of the ham/ Canadian bacon( not sure what the difference is, but it was delish) in coin form as the pepperoni made the pizza look more uniform than TDCJs new Class A. The ingredients had a lovely toast factor that added to the crunch over the pie itself. The sauce had a thickness that can be compared to a ragu as oppose to the tomato bisque we see splashed on other pies. This pizza I can eat all day everyday.. THE SUPREME: on the Supreme the fact that the mushrooms and bell peppers were cut down smaller than Rob Kardashians self respect after having a child with Blacc Chyna made all the difference. Alot of spots forget that these types of vegetables and fungai hold alot of water which later get released a top the pie. Giving it that watered down inconsistent look. And just like DJ Mustard and Migos we are all about that pure water. FINAL THOUGHT: The extreme simplicity of these pies with their robust flavors really made this one of our top three pics for Lubbock's best pizza. Delivery was fast and pricing was more than reasonable. The dough had thee most beautiful crunch yet softness that could put the fussiest of baby's asleep. I, Fountaine De la Reese, had a whopping 4 slices before I even had to reach for palette cleansing swig of Cherry Coke. The only bad thing I can say about this place is the fact they do close early and if I'm not mistaken, they are not open on weekends. If the time off they're taking is used to prep up for another exhilarating day of making pizza like this, then I guess we all just have to wake up a lil earlier to get our piece of the pie..hehehe no pun intended..It was close to great, it wasn't bad, IT WAS PIZZA!!!

This is the kids favorite pizza place in Lubbock. We had cheese and pepperoni pizza today but the calzones are amazing!

I went in by myself on a Thursday evening, as I was in Lubbock (and at TTU) for work meetings, and sat at the bar for a beer and dinner. Three employees -- servers and bartenders -- were working the place, as it was summer and school wasn't yet in session, so while most tables were filled, the bar had empty seats and a couple of tables were still empty. TEN MINUTES I sat at the bar before I was even acknowledged, and that was because the two guys next to me, who'd been there at least that long themselves, finally asked for menus, and so I said, "I'd like one, too." The guy got me a menu and I decided on what to order. Set the menu down, and another 5+ minutes went by while the servers dealt with other tables and even other customers at the bar. Now, we are 15+ minutes in, and finally the guy who got me the menu asked if I wanted something to drink. I ordered a beer, where he could have TURNED AROUND to enter it in the register and pour it from the tap, but he went to another table and I didn't see him again for another 5 or so minutes. At that point, I'd had enough, and I left. I would have enjoyed trying the pizza and enjoying a beer there. The place had a cool vibe and the food looked and smelled good, from what I could see from neighbors. But the dismissive attitude of the staff who must actually have looked THROUGH me (I was at the very center of the bar and I'm pretty sure I'm not transparent) and having been ignored for about 20 minutes was enough. Went down the road to Flippers Tavern and had a wonderful experience there! Sorry, but if you can't even acknowledge your customers when you're busy but not slammed, you don't deserve my business. Maybe it's because I'm an Old Dude and not a young hipster or college student, but it was disappointing and frustrating. Bottom line: skip this place, especially if you're over 35 or so.

I will start off by saying sometimes the wait is excruciatingly slow for dine-in, whether it is almost empty or packed. However, takeout is usually pretty on top of it. Capital wins out if you like your crust a little doughy. There is this intense softness to their pizza that it is almost like tasting a cloud. It is legit. Some personal favorites of mine are their Hot Honey pizza, but this last time I ordered a Classic Margherita, and I loved it. It is really like no other pizza place I have been to, and I always find enjoyment in their immensely doughy crusts. It used to be only order over the phone, but it is nice to order online using Slice now because you do not have to preplan and prepare for a phone call. You just pick your pizzas and order. It is great. I enjoy dining in as well. The place feels pretty small, but there is a big overflow room in the back on busy nights. They have a full bar, which is pretty cool for keeping the party going. You do have to pay a little more than at your typical pizzeria, but I think the tradeoff is worth it. Capital Pizza, you have my heart. RIYL: Dough for days.

What...was that?…read more Perhaps that's the issue. I remember what One Guy's used to be. It was formerly a place that I'd recommend to anyone visiting from out of town as a local favorite. It was a place I went when I cared less about convenience and using a coupon for some chain pizza and instead wanted something absolutely delicious. Sadly, it's not that anymore. The salad out front was decent enough, albeit pretty basic and definitely nothing special. The calzone was watery. Yes, watery. I don't even know how or why, but there was an excessive amount of watery liquid coming out of it. The pepperoni pizza was decent enough, but definitely no better than you're going to get from a chain, or (I can't believe I'm saying this) frozen. The sauce was particularly off-putting and gave me a different kind of nostalgia than I thought I would get eating here. It reminded me of eating Chef Boyardee vlin microwavable bowls as a kid. I was told that after taking the leftovers home and trying them the next day, they were even worse reheated. I didn't have that misfortune myself as I was done with it after the meal. The service was adequately good, but there was no crowd like I would have expected, and it's easy to see why. I'm fully aware of the reasons things may have gone a different direction (specifically downhill) at One Guy's and that there are now more options in town. I just hoped that this location still had some of that pizazz that made it special. Sadly, I was disappointed.
