I've lived in three different coastal states, and Georgio's serves up some of the best pizza I've ever had. Once a week or so, I visit to have a reliably delicious slice. But I'm not here to discuss their excellent pizza, the generous slices, or the largest pie in the region. I'm here to gush about their soda. I only have one vice in life: Dr Pepper. I visit near-daily to sit and watch old David Letterman clips on my phone, and nothing pairs as well with talk-show clips from the 1980s quite like an ice-cold Dr Pepper. I don't know what their trick is, but it's the perfect balance of syrup & carbonation. What's more is the availability of that delightful ice all enthusiasts crave: small & airy, which allows each cube to harbor your soda of choice within it's cracks for a flavor-filled burst with every satisfying crunch. Staff is invariably friendly and attentive, and seem to have no qualms about a daily dip into Letterman clips. Ownership is likewise friendly & kind, and offer up a warm greeting any time we cross paths. There's always a clean table available (sanitized with Fabuloso® if I'm guessing correctly), there are a couple of arcade machines (play Pac-Man while you wait!), and much of the restaurant is tastefully decorated with Super Mario memorabilia. If you're anything like me, and h*ck, who isn't, you'll love catching up with your favorite David Letterman clips and enjoying a slice of pepperoni while sipping an otherworldly example of Dr Pepper. It is my view that Georgio's merits all five stars, a blue ribbon, numerous gold medals and a Nobel peace prize. read more

Found this place using Groupon, really good coupon deal you get to $10 coupons for about $12. Located in the middle of old downtown Lubbock, you will find that during peak hours you might not find a good parking place but there are plenty around so keep searching but try not to get t boned because traffic down here is pretty confusing, even for a houstonian. So I finally fired off one of these coupons, no you can only use one per day so I guess I'll be back here tomorrow. The interior is outdated but kind of the old downtown look kind of like Mel's Diner so don't expect a new looking fresh interior. Also condiments are not filled, all of the parmesan cheese canisters were less than half full content, kind of a turn off. Cleanup on aisle two, I guess they burnt something while I was making this review because it's either burnt ass or they toasted a crusty real bad. Since I like supporting mom and pop places and I apologize for going against the grain on this but the top of my pizza was just too girly or it seems undercooked. I could immediately tell just by looking at it and sure enough my confirmation was right. The bottom was well-cooked at least, I do not know if this is a regular thing or not, but not used to this. They also have a coupon special on their flyers and something that caught my eye or like 4 calzonez for $8 or something like that. They have a soda fountain machine here which is delightful to know so you don't have to pay per can or bottle. I have to use the next Groupon off before I leave this town so I guess I'll give here another try to see if I can get something different and things turn out right, Service at the counter was pretty friendly, you get added a star for that. read more

If you're looking for great pizza and great people behind the pizza, look no further than Giorgio's pizza! I came yesterday to get a slice and really enjoyed talking to the owner and his son. They were super friendly, affable, kind, and even offered me a banana (that wasn't for sale) just because they are cool people. Also, at my age, I should never turn down potassium. The slices of pizza are large (the slices look like they are cut from a 16 or 18 inch pizza), beautifully thin, with just the right amount of toppings. The sauce is wonderfully flavorful. The slices are perfect for eating off the plate or folding in half and going HAAAAAM! Bless this business and the family that owns and operates it. They not only look after their customers, but they also try to look out for unhoused people in the neighborhood as well. I support any business that is about providing excellent service and helping people. Giorgio's pizza and the people within truly make this eatery a memorable place. Not sure why this pizza joint only has four stars on Yelp. This is the real deal born and lived in RI and worked in downtown Boston and did day trips to NYC, so we know good pizza. Been in Texas twelve years. Can count on one hand the number of pizza places that are good in Texas. This is one of them. Forget the other pizza places in Lubbock. Sells pizza by the slice with up to three toppings and they don't skimp. Two slices and a soda for $8.75. The inside makes you feel at home and wreaks of great pizza. Wreaks as in decor - cool decor. 4.689 STAR!!! One of the most down to earth services we have received to this point. The peeps over at Woody's always showing love and Giorgio's is up there with them. No conglomerate mumbo jumbo here. DELIVERY AND PRICING: THE MEATS PIZZA: WELL DONE The use of the ham/ Canadian bacon( not sure what the difference is, but it was delish) in coin form as the pepperoni made the pizza look more uniform than TDCJs new Class A. The ingredients had a lovely toast factor that added to the crunch over the pie itself. The sauce had a thickness that can be compared to a ragu as oppose to the tomato bisque we see splashed on other pies. This pizza I can eat all day everyday.. THE SUPREME: on the Supreme the fact that the mushrooms and bell peppers were cut down smaller than Rob Kardashians self respect after having a child with Blacc Chyna made all the difference. Alot of spots forget that these types of vegetables and fungai hold alot of water which later get released a top the pie. Giving it that watered down inconsistent look. And just like DJ Mustard and Migos we are all about that pure water. FINAL THOUGHT: The extreme simplicity of these pies with their robust flavors really made this one of our top three pics for Lubbock's best pizza. Delivery was fast and pricing was more than reasonable. The dough had thee most beautiful crunch yet softness that could put the fussiest of baby's asleep. I, Fountaine De la Reese, had a whopping 4 slices before I even had to reach for palette cleansing swig of Cherry Coke. The only bad thing I can say about this place is the fact they do close early and if I'm not mistaken, they are not open on weekends. I'm not one to usually leave a review.. but I was blown away with their pizza! It is the best I've ever had! The crust is crispy thin with a savory slight hint of a buttery taste, sauce taste like it came straight from Italy, and the cheese is out of this world!! Service was fast, friendly, and exceptional. As a previous cook in a restaurant, I was super impressed by their main cook who took orders and payment, made the pizzas from start to finish, then brought the orders out in a timely fashion. If I had my own restaurant I would hire that cook in a heartbeat. This is now definitely our place to order pizza and more! read more

I've gotten their calzone and pizza. The calzone was handed to me cold off their over. I would give that a 2-3 Star in itself. It wasn't very good and pretty disappointing. The cold part just upset me but I'll take blame for not asking them to heat it up. The pizza is pretty good. It just has a very heavy and dough'y crust. I cannot describe how good this cazone is, it is the perfect combination of awesome and crust served hot and quick. If you are any place around downtown you shouldn't miss out. It has been since about 1998 when I last frequented this place. My hiatus has been more a function of a long sojourn outside of the state of Texas more so than willful neglect. With a recent move back to my native Lubbock, this was one of the first places I frequented for lunch upon being back in town. From a conversation with a fellow patron in line, it is apparent that the ownership has changed but the essence of the place has not changed a bit, which is a good thing. I had to have the calzone to get reintroduced to Giorgio's, and I was thrilled to have the same taste explosion of piping hot pepperoni, Italian Sausage and melted cheese. Giorgio's ambiance was always a mix of downtown office workers, blue collar workers, college and high school students. I was thrilled to find even the clientele much the same as I remember it. Progress and change is certainly good, but it is still good to have tradition and places that seem to stay still in time. read more

Yum yum yum. This place is one of the best places we have for lunch! I work downtown and I come here at least once a month. It feels like you're eating pizza they way you should in the U.S.! New York style! It's really cheap and the pizza slices are HUGE! It's also great for lunch because the turn around time is so fast. They have several of everything made by lunchtime so when you order they usually give you your food immediately after you pay. I think a pizza slice and drink are usually around $5. They also have calzones, which I really love because the cheese is melted around every topping and it's nicely sealed in a scrumptious crust. read more

Awesome pizza place I stumbled on by sheer dumb luck. I was on my way to One Guy From Italy Pizza, but I saw Giorgio's and thought "Hey, I'd like to try that." I pulled into a parking spot right next to the door, and had to wait behind one person in line. This was around 12:45, so I guess I missed the big lunch crowd. I got one of the lunch specials, 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $5.50. The pizza came fresh out of the oven and was piping hot. Once the pizza cooled to the perfect temperature (about 1.5 minutes later), I was surprised at how delicious the pizza was. The slices are large and worth every bit of the $5.50. In my opinion, Giorgio's is way better than One Guy from Italy, where you get a good helping of grease with your pizza, and a very soft crust. I would definitely eat at Giorgio's again! read more

You have to see the owner of this establishment to understand why the calzones are so damn good. He is right off a poster for Italian food or pizza. He looks the part like the freakin' Lone Ranger. I found Giorgio's Pizza by mistake --- my mistake being to be at the Lubbock Courthouse for a mediation proceeding. Wandered over on the suggestion of the mediator and had a superb calzone. The calzone was partially baked and then finished when ordered. Scrumptious innards included meatballs, pepperoni and meat sauce with a nice warm runny and delicious cheese. Easily the best calzone I have ever eaten --- well a tie with some from Little Italy. But this is Lubbock and who expected this? While I don't always like going to Lubbock, when I do, I will eat at Giorgio's Pizza, my friend. Wow! read more

I say $2 and they hand me a plate that's been sitting on the counter which looked like left out pizza and tasted like it had been sitting there for a few minutes too long.
