The kid who took my order has to be the nicest waitstaff I've ever encountered. The place was packed and I was sitting alone and he was just as attentive to me as to his other table of about 20. I ordered the chicken parm. Came with minestrone, which did not look pretty but was pretty tasty. Then the chicken came out with a side of spaghetti and marinara. The pasta was okay, almost good. I hadn't been to Orlando's in years and we were shopping down the street so we stopped in. I had the lunch portion of the cheese ravioli with meat sauce. The sauce was OK but the ravioli was barely warm and tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. It also had a weird texture, kind of chewy. My wife had the lasagna and enjoyed it. I'm one of the weird ones that doesn't like meat in lasagna so I didn't try it. The best part of our meal was my son's pepperoni pizza. I had a slice and it was cooked just right and very flavorful. Our server was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was enjoyable until a lady was seated next to us and was on a FaceTime call the entire time we were there. This is always one of our favorite places to go to in Lubbock. We really enjoy everything about Orlando's. The food is very good and the service is usually amazing. The only reason I don't give a full five stars is we do love homemade pasta at an Italian restaurant and this seems to be something out of a box probably. Sometimes it can be a little cold, or a little hard after it seems to have been put back in the blanching water, but overall it's still yummy. Arrived at around 7pm or just after was immediately greeted, they were super busy, they seated myself and family very quickly. After being seated our waitress immediately arrived to take our drink orders. She was very friendly. When our orders were taken she helped us with our menu questions, took great care to make sure our order was correct. Our appetizers arrived we quickly and our food shortly following. We were excited to try Orlando's because it's packed every weekend. So we decided to order pizza and we picked it up. Ordering over the phone was relatively easy. When it was time to pickup it was unclear where to go inside because no one came to help us where the sign said takeout. We went in the other side for help and was directed back where we started only for the one person to go help someone outside. We went back to the other side and finally got the pizza. It was confusing as heck and poor service with the female worker complaining about being the only one working that area. We got the pizza home and it was mediocre. Not what I expected. Took a while for them to bring me my food out for some reason but the end of my meal the waitress talked to management and they knocked off $7 from my bill cause of the delay in my food coming out. Not that is something they did on their own and I was not expecting anything cause I was fine with the wait. There are two things that we must do whenever passing through Lubbock. First is seeing family. The second is eating at Orlando's. We started off the meal with mafia queso, which is always a family favorite. While the wife and I both enjoyed our green chili, chicken linguine, our son-in-law ordered the dragon fire pizza. Orlando's is our go to spot when I visit my kiddo in Lubbock. We usually frequent the other location, but came here on our last visit. This location is much bigger with plenty of parking. I actually prefer it more. Customer service was great from start to finish. Orlando's is an Italian restaurant with some Tex mixed in. For example, we always start of with the Mafia Queso. Queso at an Italian place? Why yes, and it is delicious! Apparently it's a crowd favorite. It's different because its alfredo sauce with beef and green chiles. I have not had anything twice during any of my visits, and I always let the waiter pick. This visit I went with the Italian Chicken Fry. It is like a Chicken Parm, but with chicken fried steak. Gave our name to the hostess and sat down directly across the hostess station. People were coming in and being seated while we sat and waited. After 30 minutes a table of 7 was seated while my family of 4 sat waiting. I asked the hostess if we had been forgotten and was told we had cancelled 20 minutes earlier. Orlando' is a family favorite. We love the pizza delivery. There have been many a Sunday dinner where Orlando's feeds the family. The spicy Tortellini has become a new fun food for the family. If dining in Atmosphere is family friendly and location is easy to get to. read more

First of all our waitress was very good. This was not her fault. We are regular customers but tonight was very disappointing. My husband and I ordered a pizza to share. We waited almost an hour for the pizza. we waited 20-25 minutes and the waitress came and said the kitchen had been busy all day and they messed up the pizza and had to remake it. In another 15 or so minutes she came back and said it was almost ready. It finally was brought out. Our son's food had obviously been warmed up or kept under a light waiting for our pizza. Our pizza was good just took forever. She came and said they were comping 50% and giving us free dessert. When we all ordered dessert she said only one would be free and it's only 50% off the pizza.
