I placed an order at 3:15 pm and asked for Delivery at 4 (the time that they start delivering) I was told that they would not deliver and to reorder after 4. We placed our order several times like this, and I even called the Restaurant and who ever (Luke) told me to place the order under "Pickup" and then call back and they would deliver it. Orlando's has been a Lubbock institution for a long time. Ambiance is not bad. And if you get there early enough the wait time isn't too bad. Service is usually friendly, but the food is just okay. Not bad, but not amazing. Pricing is also on the high side, which for the food quality, shouldn't be that high. I hadn't been to Orlando's in years and we were shopping down the street so we stopped in. I had the lunch portion of the cheese ravioli with meat sauce. The sauce was OK but the ravioli was barely warm and tasted like it had been frozen and reheated. It also had a weird texture, kind of chewy. My wife had the lasagna and enjoyed it. I'm one of the weird ones that doesn't like meat in lasagna so I didn't try it. The best part of our meal was my son's pepperoni pizza. I had a slice and it was cooked just right and very flavorful. Our server was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was enjoyable until a lady was seated next to us and was on a FaceTime call the entire time we were there. The food here is good, but just be aware of the high prices. I got the chicken Alfredo and it was ranging about $20. The service is always hit or miss at both locations, it could b much better. The Ave Q Location is usually pretty quiet, and the Indiana location i've noticed is much louder. I just can't justify paying so much for pasta, and bread. This is always one of our favorite places to go to in Lubbock. We really enjoy everything about Orlando's. The food is very good and the service is usually amazing. The only reason I don't give a full five stars is we do love homemade pasta at an Italian restaurant and this seems to be something out of a box probably. Sometimes it can be a little cold, or a little hard after it seems to have been put back in the blanching water, but overall it's still yummy. Arrived at around 7pm or just after was immediately greeted, they were super busy, they seated myself and family very quickly. After being seated our waitress immediately arrived to take our drink orders. She was very friendly. We were excited to try Orlando's because it's packed every weekend. So we decided to order pizza and we picked it up. Ordering over the phone was relatively easy. When it was time to pickup it was unclear where to go inside because no one came to help us where the sign said takeout. We went in the other side for help and was directed back where we started only for the one person to go help someone outside. We went back to the other side and finally got the pizza. It was confusing as heck and poor service with the female worker complaining about being the only one working that area. We got the pizza home and it was mediocre. Not what I expected. Took a while for them to bring me my food out for some reason but the end of my meal the waitress talked to management and they knocked off $7 from my bill cause of the delay in my food coming out. Orlando's is our go to spot when I visit my kiddo in Lubbock. We usually frequent the other location, but came here on our last visit. This location is much bigger with plenty of parking. I actually prefer it more. Customer service was great from start to finish. Orlando's is an Italian restaurant with some Tex mixed in. For example, we always start of with the Mafia Queso. Queso at an Italian place? Why yes, and it is delicious! Apparently it's a crowd favorite. It's different because its alfredo sauce with beef and green chiles. I have not had anything twice during any of my visits, and I always let the waiter pick. This visit I went with the Italian Chicken Fry. It is like a Chicken Parm, but with chicken fried steak. Gave our name to the hostess and sat down directly across the hostess station. People were coming in and being seated while we sat and waited. After 30 minutes a table of 7 was seated while my family of 4 sat waiting. I asked the hostess if we had been forgotten and was told we had cancelled 20 minutes earlier.
