Last week we were in here for our anniversary (it was belated from October) and tonight we came back for my birthday. The highlight? Our waiter- Collin! Both times he was great. As for food... we have been coming here for YEARS, and the consistency in dishes/drinks is not there. It makes me extremely sad, especially when we pay well over $200 each visit. For example- I always get the Chilean Sea Bass- many times it's lightly seared, leaving the fish delicate in tenderness and flavor. Tonight it was like Furr's Cafeteria . It was heavy with oil and the outside was extremely crispy, like a deep fried filet- so discouraging. As for dessert, I was offered a "complimentary" one for my birthday, but was still charged $12.00 for it. I didn't say anything... but really??? I had this same dessert last week, and this week the pretzel crusted bottom was far too buttery and over-powering-- so not only did the "complimentary" birthday dessert cost, it also was not finished. Finally, the evening started with drinks- my choice, an espresso martini. At the bar, the lady asked if I wanted "creamy and sweet" and I said "neither"-- what she gave me was AMAZING! She said if I reordered at the table later to say the same to our waiter, with my name. I did, and ... yikes- not even close to the same flavor. Overall, we love coming here for the atmosphere and waitstaff, but the consistency in quality of food keeps regressing. It truly makes me sad. read more

We had an incredible evening at Las Brisas. My sister and I split the 10oz filet with the truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus. The filet melted in our mouth and the flavor of the potatoes was some of my favorite. We topped the night off with the skillet apple pie & I have no words. We are not an apple pie family, but it was absolutely delicious. The ambiance in this restaurant never fails nor does the service. One of the best steaks I have ever had. I had the 2 5ounce filets w sauces and served oscar style. Our server Nicholas was super fun and a wine expert. We brought a bottle of our Caymus wine and drink it tableside for a small cork fee of $25. What a steal to be able to do that at a steakhouse.! Went for Sunday brunch on Labor Day weekend and it wasn't too crowded. It's nice you can have some traditional brunch items plus steaks courses. The Belgian waffles and sausage were really tasty. You receive 6 small waffles with a choice of bacon or sausage. The waffles have a nice crunch to them, so you won't receive anything soft/soggy, but you can still cut them with a fork only. They didn't come with butter, only a tiny portion of syrup, so that was annoying to sit and wait for before eating. The 8 oz filet and truffle mashed potatoes were some of the best I've ever had - and I eat steak often. My favorite appetizer was the stuffed jalapeños; these are a must! My reason for 4 stars is because the lobster guacamole was disgusting. The lobster was gamey tasting and ruined it all. For $32, it was a waste. They were also out of their popular chicken fried steak at 12:30pm so that was a bummer as we wanted to try it. Parking is ample, and the views of the patio, waterfall, pond are nice. The server Diego was very attentive, the steak was good, house bread came out nice and warm... but the chairs had crumbs on them before we sat down. And the bathroom sinks were not matching the standards... the sinks need to be cleaned up or upgraded and the soap bottles were nearly empty. read more

After driving by this spot for years and years I just couldn't take it anymore! We finally got around to trying Las Brisas and it is everything you hear and more. The staff is so accommodating, from taking our plates as soon as we are done, to checking in throughout the meal, we were always taken care of. The steaks are definitely the best in town, although the mashed potatoes might still be the star of the show. The service was great. I felt like my waitress was very kind and attentive. I had an amazing bone-in ribeye. The Ribeye was perfectly cooked and an incredible cut of meat. If you don't like pepper as much, I'd ask them to go lighter on that seasoning as it was on the heavier side. I like Pepper, so it was good to me. I also got an extra side of the Lobster Mac, which was great. A couple of things if you sit on the patio, bring bug spray or ask for some from the wait staff. I didn't notice mosquitos earlier in the evening but then I got eaten alive after 8:30 or so. The patio was a cool atmosphere, but I'd recommend eating inside if you have a later dinner because the bugs can get pretty heavy in the later evening hours. This was our third visit to Las Brisas during our trips to visit our Red Raider. This is the first time we bring our grandsons with us though. We asked our waiter if they had a kids menu which he informed us that they didn't have any printed but he informed us of the options off the top of his head. We didn't feel it was appropriate to ask for pricing as we felt it was a kids menu and should be reasonable compared to adult/full portions. $30 for a tiny 3 oz steak and fries was outrageous! $60 for 2 kids. We would have been better off getting them the 16oz ribeye plate for $57 and have them split it so they could have gotten a bigger portions of steak versus a tiny piece with mediocre fries. Add $8 to the $57 though. They charge $8 extra for split plates. I highly recommend they print kids' menus with pricing for transparency purposes. read more

Grabbed lunch to celebrate my nephew's graduation! We had a reservation because we had a large party. Had a dirty martini and an appetizer sampler to start. The stuff avocados were very good. The stuffed peppers were VERY spicy. I shared a 10oz filet with my mom and it was very good. Sharing was the perfect size for me! We also got a pretzel crusted brownie, which was great! This was our first trip to Las Brisas. We had heard good things, so my wife and I went for a date night on a Friday evening. To my surprise, we were seated right away, as it was not overly busy. They had outside seating by their waterfall and pond, but it was nearly 100 degrees, so we sat inside. Waiter was very nice, and very friendly. Now, I knew this would not be a cheap meal. However, I was pretty shocked at their steak prices. The "special" that night was a tomahawk ribeye and mashed potatoes... for $225. Look, I'm sure it wasn't a bad steak, but I'm not dropping that kind of money on a single steak. We decided on some "cheaper" steaks, a 8 oz filet, and a 16oz ribeye, ($55 and $65 respectively) crazy thing, is that at this price, you get one dollop of mashed potatoes and 4-5 stalks of asparagus. No salad, unless you want to buy that too. Steaks came out cooked well. However, for the price, the ribeye was much more gristle and fatty than it should have been. Guess I should have ordered the "premium" ribeye for yet another $20. Mashed potatoes were not bad, but the asparagus was overcooked, hard, and had zero sauce or flavor. Was the steak pretty good? Sure, it wasn't terrible. However I've had far better steaks at other places here in town for half the money or less. Point is, if you're going to charge top dollar, you should serve top-shelf entrees. You're paying for the ambiance here. Not saying we'd never go back, but it would never be at the top of my list. read more

Was in town to watch my beloved Pokes get a serious beatdown by TT, but managed to at least assuage our disappointment by having dinner here after the game. The service was impeccable and Diego was a real gem of a waiter. The owner (Buddy?) came by and we had a nice visit with him. What a pleasant and charming gentleman he was. Coming from Los Angeles, we have a lot of dining options available, but I have to say this was one of the most memorable dinners I've had in a very long time. We had ribeyes and filets and everything came out perfectly cooked. The sides were very tasty and the chocolate cake we had for dessert was off the charts. Met an old friend here for a catch-up dinner, and I really enjoyed the overall dining experience.  My steak was tender, juicy, beautifully marbled, and cooked to perfection.  The crème brûlée was exceptional as well. When it comes to finer dining in Lubbock, there aren't a crazy amount of options. Las Brisas kept coming up in my research when looking for a place to celebrate my son's graduation. My whole immediate family came into Lubbock for this event so I called to make a reservation. At the time of reservation, a credit card was asked for to hold the reservation. Graduation day arrived and was a joyous occasion but due to an unexpected emergency we needed to head back to Houston as soon as graduation was done. Our reservation was not until 4pm when they opened. I cancelled my reservation early in the day but was still charged 250 dollars on my card. Now I know there's a reason for these cancellation fees, but 250 dollars on a day where they would have no problem filling these seats seemed absurd. I called and emailed and got no response from anyone. The lack of communication is my main gripe. For that reason alone, I would not consider coming back here. read more

I didn't not want my filet in a puddle of gravy. Risotto was dry and flavorless. This was my first time here and will be my last. Not worth the money for sub par food swimming in a plate of gravy. The service was good; however the food was another issue. Steaks were so hard we had to chew them like raw hide. Had to send a medium steak back because it came out bloody. Really delicious, well- crafted steak. One of the best I've had for a while! Appetizers were lacking albeit great looking..and overall ambiance was very bland. I went to dinner with a colleague and some clients which turned out to be a longer evolution that anticipated because of the pacing of our meal. The server was courteous but seemed to really drag out the courses and was a bit forgetful with requests. Would I come back? Sure, but maybe order something else for appetizers.
