Located in Allegheny West, Giorgio's is a good place. It's spacious enough to dine in if you have a large party. I appreciate that you can choose any toppings for an individual slice if you'd like. The menu has more options than just pizza. I believe they're known for their hoagies and they also sell fries. Good pizza, probably better hoagies or pasta though. They don't seem to care about how they run their business: "I wanted to make you aware of a service experience that most likely doesn't align with your values. This occurred last night (7/6/26) between 7 - 8 PM. I didn't want to just slam you with a 1 star review, but the visit warrants one! We arrived shortly after 7, ordered a pepperoni roll, cheese ravioli dinner, fries, and a soda + cup of water. The pepperoni roll came out in 15 minutes after ordering, not bad at all. 25 minutes after ordering, I went to check on the ravioli and dinner salad. The delinquent female answering the phones and working the front of house was absolutely awful to deal with. I asked and she said she would check. She came out 5 minutes later with a salad. When I asked about the ravioli at this point she ignored me. We went up to check 2 more times and kept hearing "it's coming, it's coming" in an antagonist tone. Finally at 50 minutes after ordering, we had enough. Never received the french fries, ravioli, garlic bread and asked for our money back. The girl was really pissed off, but provided a refund. She has no customer service skills at all and should not be representing your business. All she had to do was come over, apologize and tell us what was going on. She went further to say she wanted to say something to us (probably an insult) but wasn't going to. I asked her to please say it, but she refused. There was another couple waiting for plain spaghetti for at least 20 minutes as well, for a toddler. My girlfriend also got involved and the order taker was rude to her as well. When I said she was getting a 1 star review, she said "I don't care". Is this really what you want as your front facing customer service? There are many options out there! One other note, we asked the pizza maker for assistance twice, but he refused and deferred to the front counter operator. He didn't have much common sense either. If he had any empathy he would have jumped in. This girl is costing you sales and customers. We will never come back, and I can't imagine we are the only ones. Poor customer service. The cashier was outside playing around while customers are waiting in line for the food. She was very unfriendly. Also, the girl preparing the food didn't have any gloves on, she was going around the restaurant cleaning and then would go back to preparing sandwiches with no gloves. Talk about disgusting!!!!! Here for the Pittsburgh draft and these people clearly had draft pricing on the menu. The pricing of the pizzas can be ridiculous. However, the pizza is great! A chicken and banana pepper pizza was a total of $47. Toppings are $5 charge per topping. Chicken on a pizza is charged 3x's the amount. The service was given with matter of factness without a clear understanding when questioned. Ambiance was cool. You can sit indoors. However, we took the pizza to Lefty's. Service and better pricing explanations could have made this experience better. But hands down the pizza was good. read more

Stopped in for lunch as I was working at the stadium. Old school spot definitely felt like home. Chalkboard when you walk in to pick what you would like. I went with the cheesesteak hoagie. You get a number and pick a seat. Two older ladies were preparing the food and bring it out to you which is awesome. Definitely felt like home. Sandwich was phenomenal! Crispy steak and cheesy! Placing an order over the phone was quick and easy and it was ready just a few minutes after they told me it would be. It's a great bang for your buck and I had plenty of food for my entire group. I'm a long time customer of this restaurant for over 20 yrs. I was in area on other business and not far from this restaurant so I decided to have lunch here as I have in the past. I placed my order and got the drinks at the counter and salad shortly thereafter. Then buisness seemed to pick up for the lunch crowd. I noticed other customers that came in way after me that ordered from the counter and were eating in were all getting their food. So I approached the counter and spoke to the manager about not getting my sandwiches. He rudely stated that he makes the pizza and has nothing to do with it. I told him what I was waiting on. He then said do I want my money back. I was surprised that he took that tone with me being that I'm a long time customer. I actually paused and thought maybe he's just having a bad day. However his rudeness didn't end there. He continued to shout at me and saying what do I want him to do about it. I said again I'm a long time customer and all I wanted was maybe apology and we'll get it right out to you. He then continued to shout and took the pizza spatula and hit the counter really hard to intimidate me. There was a nice young man at the counter that gave me a cash refund for my sandwiches that I never received. After having lunch here hundreds of times by myself and with friends and coworkers I was literally thrown off by his behavior. I will never eat at this establishment ever again. It's sad that today that hospitality and common courtesy doesn't exist anymore. I know I'm only one customer but they will never get my business again. I would encourage black customers to not dine here as this man is very disrespectful to black patrons. Hopefully he'll remember that he's located in a predominantly black neighborhood and they provide him a lot of business. read more

Ordered an eggplant parm hot sandwich to go and ended up throwing most of it out. It had been wrapped in foil and when I unwrapped it, all of the cheese was stuck to the foil. I waited a long time for it while watching many people come and go, granted it was Friday, and then recognized the bag (after it had been given to me by the woman who took my order) as the bag being handled by two other staff about 10-15 min earlier. They were passing it back and forth to each other. It was a mess of a sandwich to try to eat which required a knife, fork and plate (things I did not have since I was visiting from out of town). How about a takeout container guys? If the NYer in me was feeling it, I would have brought it back and demanded a refund. Other than the business this place does it CAN be a little difficult to find a parking spot. Being "out-of-towners"...I honestly craved New York style pizza!!! It DID NOT DISSAPOINT!!!!! Giorgio's Place is good, but not wonderful. I stop in often for a slice and I've ordered a few meals and whole pies. Slices are usually very good, far better at peak times of course since it hasn't been sitting out for long. They have a tastier than average cheese mix. Good sauce, good crust. I'd call it 70% NY style, 30% Pittsburgh style. And I'm very glad that like any good NY pizzeria, they have shakers of garlic, oregano, grated cheese and hot pepper available. Now a couple pet peeves. They use ground sausage. That's a turn-off to me. The best sausage pizza in Pittsburgh was of course the great Vincent's Pizza Park with big juicy fresh-made sausage. And second, The woman who minds the counter (Giorgio's mama?) is often grumpy, and one time in the evening I went to buy a couple slices and she would only sell me one as she didn't want to have them make another pizza for slices though it was still half an hour from closing. However, sometimes it will arrive with paper thin crust that the melted cheese just turns into soup. If they could get quality control on their consistency, I'd give this place 100 stars. Great little place near Allegheny Commons and Mexican War Streets! Placed a to-go order on a drizzly Saturday night and was told it would be ready 15-20 minutes later. Showed up at the appointment time and was provided a large piping hot pizza. Service was quick and the place looks pretty nice. There were several tables to sit and eat at and it looked as though a very large group had recently left. A 16" pepperoni pizza will set you back about $14 bucks and that seems like a really good deal to me! Because the pizza is thin crust it tended to get a little bit soggy and so I'd recommend lots of napkins on hand or a plate and fork if that's more your speed. Flavors were well developed and I felt that the sauce to cheese to pepperoni ratio was pretty good! Only other comment I'll make is that the pizza was very oily so just be aware of that. Unfortunately for Northsiders such as myself decent pizza is almost impossible to find. The downtown delivery options all serve the same spongy crust topped with way too much cheap cheese style of pizza. That's why when craving pizza I turn to Giorgio's. The crust is soft and fluffy while still being crunchy on the bottom. They are very generous with the toppings, but are happy to make the pizza however you want (I like a little more sauce than cheese on mine). The prices are also great; my standard order of a 2 topping medium pizza with 6 wings is $14. *A note on the wings, they are wing-ding style (breaded then fried) so order them with the sauce on the side otherwise they get soggy. Giorgio's does have some drawbacks which result in me knocking off a few stars. 1. They do not deliver 2. They are cash only In my opinion these are two significant inconveniences when it comes to a pizza shop. I have do some serious pre-planning if I want to order from Giorgio's. I want to really like Giorgio's Place because it's so close to where I live. But when all I really wanted was a deep dish pizza, I was disappointed.
