Hi this is your main Moe, giving you a quick review about Gio's BBQ. My opinion is this, I enjoyed my pick from the menu (see photo). I really like this combo it was delicious . I look to have this again in the future. I approve this message.

Midweek lunch driving through. I suggest you stop for the brisket, but beware of the onion rings. The brisket was tender with just enough bite, sauce was tangy tomato and complimented the brisket, which had a small ribbon of flavor rich fat ( can I call it that :) The onion rings were packed with grease, thick battered, and the onions were flavorless. A few chicken sandwiches were served and were HUGE. (did not have one), But next drive through will have to split one, again HUGE.

A STRONG 4 stars! We were road tripping across route 80 and saw that Gio's was a local favorite. I loved my pulled pork Sammy. Ambiance is unique being integrated into a gas station but I still loved it. I felt welcomed and at ease. It was a great and easy stop!

Everything I have tried from the place is very good. The meatball sub was good, just really big meatballs, the fries are hit or miss. Very nice customer service, I appreciate the greetings I received and just asking if I needed any condiments with my meal (and not stingy with the ranch when requesting for some.) The location is a rest area as well, you will be able to put your gas and enjoy a good meal. Well recommended

Learned in Kansas City, Kansas, that bbq at gas stations tend to be gems. This is in a gas station convenience store. Ordered the beef brisket with cole slaw. Sauce was smoky, sweet, and tangy. I didn't bother with the other sauces they had there as the original was perfect. Great meat to fat ratio and thin slices. Very filling, satisfying, and well, I want more as I write about it. Photos don't do it justice. It's not the best brisket I've ever had, but it's one of my favorites. The sandwich was $12. Water at the soda fountain is free. So are soda refills if you purchase. Staff is super nice. Order at the counter, and they'll call you or bring it your food. First come, first serve in dining area tables or counter by window. Gas is a decent price. A mile or two off the highway with plenty of parking.

Don't discount this place because it's in a convenience store! My mom and I had the Catfish and it did not disappoint. It's really hard to find catfish in stores and in other restaurants so we were happy to find it on this menu. You order at the counter and then sit down until they call your number. It can get busy too! The garlic bread (which I think comes with most things) wasn't too desirable but the BBQ baked beans and the Mac and cheese were good.

Time for a new review. :( yuck! Unfortunately the place was sold and after eating there 4 times since the new management, I don't think I will return. The place is prettier but the food is barely edible now. The chicken was super salty and then super dry, the potato was burnt and dry, the brisket was dry, tough and bland. The coleslaw was rotten. I think it's safe to say it's not going to improve. I'm sad because it used to be delicious food and it's not anymore.

I've driven past Gio's for years on my way to Virginia. I finally stopped and was so happy I did. I got a combination platter of brisket and Pulled pork as well as potato salad and Chili mac. Their bbq sauce is a bit tangy and I put it on everything! I'd definitely buy a bottle to take home. The counter to order is in the main store and it's easy to order and be on your way, or sit and enjoy your food. The pork was excellent. I liked the brisket, but I'd probably try the chicken next time after all of this I am reading. I could have passed on the chili mac. Not entirely spicy and I think a topping of cheese would have helped. Great service overall!

This is a convenient stop for both food and fuel if you are in central Pennsylvania. The huge bonus is that their food is fabulous. I ordered a full rack of ribs, which comes with their own bbq sauce. With the ribs I had garlic bread and their spaghetti salad. One of the highlights of any trip thru Pennsylvania. Their restrooms are always clean and the staff friendly and attentive. The branch wood furniture gives the place a comfortable ambiance.

Perfect place right off the highway, can get gas and a great bite to eat. After driving almost 30 hours cross country, this was a splendid treat. BBQ sauce was tangy and sweet. But moreover the pulled pork was moist and tender. The combination was outstanding and would love to stop in again to try there submarine sandwiches next time I'm passing through Pennsylvania.

I thought this place was pretty darn awesome. My husband and I were traveling upstate recently and this was exactly the kind of place I was hoping to stumble across to have a nice lunch. We were not disappointed one bit. We both had brisket sandwiches with their yummy award winning BBQ sauce, and we also shared sides of potato salad, spaghetti salad (my favorite!) and the chili mac and cheese. Everything was so good and the atmosphere was nice and casual - just how I like it. We will definitely be stopping there again the next time we head upstate, and I am looking forward to it already!

Quick stop for fuel and food. Pulled pork sandwich was great on the go. Fries were bland (now I know why I saw so many salt packets out)

The bbq was good and they have the sauce on the tables. Everything was ok but not great. That's why I give it 4 instead of 5 stars.

He mentioned it so much that I assumed he already had partaken. He did not, so it was a first for the both of us. First, the view while here. Depending where you get to sit, you will have a spectacular view. Looking out over the river, with the sun setting, wow, is it amazing. I'm sure this is different depending on the season, but definitely try to take this view in during a sunset. Service here was pretty amazing. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. Menus in hand our drink order was taken. We took our time to look over the menu and decided fairly quickly. Although they do server salads, subs, pastas and stromboli, we stuck to pizza. We went with the Pepperoni Classic, XL, deep dish. When I asked about the deep dish I think I may have stumped the server. I asked is this deep dish as in Chicago or deep dish as in Detroit. I really don't think our server knew the difference, but we took a shot in the dark here. Came out Detroit style. But first, the Cheese Stix. Think mini pizza, except no sauce. Warm, fresh from the oven, served with marinara. These things, you have to be careful, or you will devour this all and leave no room for pizza. The Stix are definitely fresh, covered in mozzarella and still having steam coming off them. So good, but could trick you into eating them all. But back to this pizza. As they describe it, America's favorite pizza. Heaps of pepperoni and extra mozzarella. Trust me, however, get it deep dish. That cheese crust you get with it just amplifies this pizza. But, even the middle pieces are just as good. The dough is airy, the sauce is a nice compliment to the bit of spice from the pepperoni. Everything about this pizza screams homemade. It will remind you of your mother's pizza.

The girl who took our order was super sweet and friendly (which seems to be a trait of the area). It took about 20 minutes for our order to be ready so we waited outside by the Susquehanna River and just relaxed. When our food was ready we took it back to our ABnB and ate outside. The wings are huge and juicy. This place knows how to do wings! The medium sauce was a nice thick sauce and wasn't overly spicy but still packed a good kick. The Caesar Salad was exactly what you would expect. The pizza was solid but nothing to really get excited about. It had a good crust and the right amount of cheese but the sauce was kind of bland. The restaurant itself was warm and inviting. They have a nice selection of desserts including gelato but we didn't order any. We would definitely comeback just for the wings, but I'd like to try some of their other offerings.

FOOD: We had come here on a Sunday afternoon at around 2:00…read morepm, while driving through on our way to Washington, D.C. I had settled on the Crispy Colonel Sandwich With Wedges ($5.99), while my husband had settled on the Three-Chicken Tenders With Mashed Potatoes & A Biscuit ($5.00). Instead of getting a soft drink, I had decided on water, which was readily available at the drink station; my husband had decided on Pepsi. In terms of the Crispy Colonel Sandwich, it was well-made, tasting fresh and delicious, along with being a good size, filling-me up for the next few hours. The Wedges were just okay, but they were a bit too soft for my liking, I would have enjoyed if they were crunchier (as I love crunchy fries better then soft ones). My husband enjoyed the Chicken Tenders as they were large, and crispy, along with being easy to dip in the Ketchup. The Mashed Potatoes were a good amount, with a generous helping of Gravy poured on top, along with a tasty Biscuit. In terms of the beverages, the water didn't taste good; it tasted more of juice as opposed to water. I was a tad disappointed in the water however, I just decided to drink a bottle of my own instead. Overall, the food was pretty-good, considering the price that we had paid for it. We did enjoy having the unlimited drink station available at our disposal, which my husband used to fill-up on Pepsi before we headed-out on the road again. ATMOSPHERE: This restaurant was situated on a road off of the main highway going through Pennsylvania. It was attached to a convenience store which also sold lunch items, along with beverages. It wasn't too busy at the restaurant, and we were able to find a seat immediately upon arriving. We found that the restaurant was mostly quite clean, and we enjoyed the comfort of the seating as we dined. It also wasn't too loud, which we liked, as we usually like to dine in quieter situations as opposed to louder ones. SERVICE: Upon arrival, we were greeted by the cashier, who gave us some time to choose our items as we were speaking with her. She was kind at all times, and thanked us for our visit as we were getting our food. We noticed that the staff seemed pleasant to all guests, and were grateful for our stay. COST: Crispy Colonel Sandwich With Wedges ($5.99) + Three-Chicken Tenders With Mashed Potatoes & A Biscuit ($5.00) + Tax = $11.65 WOULD YOU RETURN? If I were in a hurry and needed something quick, I would definitely give this place another shot. The prices were good, and the food was pretty decent as well!
