My family absolutely loves Giovanni's (Saron drive) The Deluxe Calzone and the personal 7" pizzas for the kids! $15 for the Calzone and it is amazing! I have yet to find somewhere else that is as good and comparable in price not charging you per topping. It's loaded with like 11 different toppings! My kids love the 7" when they get to eat their own pizza to themselves! My oldest has graduated to a 10" for himself now! It's a small hole in the wall restaurant in the strip mall next to neighborhood Walmart but they also have a drive thru window!! Try the calzone. You won't regret it! My only issue I've ever had is that everyyyy time I call in an order for my family the worker/owner complains or makes a point to tell me that my order is a large order. This little hidden gem is a favorite among the guys in my home. I don't order as regularly as my guys from here (laundry list of food allergies). I have enjoyed the grilled chicken salad and gluten free pizza. The rest of my family loves the pizza. Rarely do they have leftovers. It's more Brooklyn style crust and not too heavy on the cheese, IYKYK. The owner and employees are super friendly. There's a drive thru and the place is small, but it's more about the food and service. Don't let the appearance food ya! read more

And so, I feel extremely qualified to give shoutouts to some of the best on the long list of eateries we've tried or tried again, this summer. Despite the stressful situation of the Covid 19 virus and the many challenges and changes that this has placed on our restaurant industry... these places from which we ordered have stood out in a positive way and have provided delicious, quality, affordable dinners for two couch potatoes staying in because of the virus. So without further ado, shoutout to Giovannis's on Saron Drive. Giovannis has long been a favorite of mine and so I was very glad to find one located just down the street from us when we moved to central Kentucky more than four years ago. It was kinda like finding an old friend. And it is always as delicious as I remembered from way back when. There's just something about the basic pepperoni and cheese on their thin crust that gets me every time. Oh, I love the sandwiches too - both the steak sandwich and the hot ham and cheese are two of my go to choices. But sometimes nothing but that familiar and delicious Giovannis pepperoni pizza will do. And it doesn't hurt any that the manager is so cordial when I call to place my order and that it arrives usually sooner than promised and is still warm and tasty... so ... during this pandemic when trying to answer that age old question ... what do we want for dinner ... don't forget to say... This is our go-to pizza in the area. Though I prefer a crispy crust and they don't have that option, crust is not too chewy either. The sauce has good flavor, not overly seasoned or salty and not bland and the toppings are plentiful and fresh. The service is good and we have had no occasions of a mix up in the order. Love the chain, not this location. Pizza bread barley had any sauce or cheese and the chef salad was not nearly heavy on toppings as other locations with half full ranch cups at that. The North Lexington location is so much better. read more

I wouldn't say this is bad pizza at all. It's thin crust all the way and quite flavorful. But toppings are sparse and oh so much grease (reminiscent of Florida's Hungry Howie's). I really wish there had been a men's room here to wash my hands off afterward... But these three napkins could work. Giovanni's food is AMAZING! Redneck Italian at it's best. The pizzas are fabulous. As far as subs go...the Italian, the Ham & Cheese, & the Pizza Bread are straight-up delicious. The Peperidge Farm bread that they come on is the best. For the more experienced Giovanni's eater, the Stromboli or Big Red is da bomb...but, they are unique flavors that you may or may not be used to. Ordered at Hotel I am gonna rate this as a Kentucky pizza I am from Chicago so we have way superior pizza than this. It was hot it was edible and I did not get sick. I just called to place an order and the person was hands down the rudest person I've ever spoken with to order food and I WILL NEVER order from this location again. I didn't even complete the order, I hung up. There are far too many restaurants in Lexington to deal with that type of terrible customer service. It's really unfortunate because we love the food! I ordered a ham, onion & mushroom pizza from there once. I was pleasantly surprised by how quick it was delivered. The bigger surprise came when I tasted the pizza. What a great pizza. Quality and Fresh ingredients. Service is very good. Sandwiches, salads and sides round out the menu. The bread sticks are very good and are served with white sauce (basically a creamy ranch dressing). They also have on-line order capability. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give a negative rating, I would. Probably the worst pizza I've ever had. I ordered a pepperoni and margarita style pizza and when I got home I realized they messed up the order and gave me a plain cheese instead of pepperoni. On the margarita the tomatoes were hardly existent and buried under the cheese - so I basically had two cheese pizzas. On top of it, the crust was so chewy, not even remotely crisp, almost like chewing on a wet sock. I should have bought a frozen pizza, saved myself some money and been more satisfied!!! read more
