Actually our very first time here we couldn't get a seat because it it that popular. I love their chicken and dumpling soup. This is THE definition of comfort for to me. It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

The - could be better: my bbq brisket sandwich was extremely dry to the point some of the pieces i couldn't even bend the meat. There was very little bbq sauce on it so thankfully i loved the bbq sauces so i drenched it. All the sauces are kept on the tables for easy access. The okra was not crispy. The ribs looked good on the plate turned upside down but once turned over the tops were burnt and the meat was also very dry. I'd prefer a toasty bun and I'm not sure the bbq sauce is homemade, but it didn't even matter the meat was so good. The watermelon was sweet and fresh and sliced up as a wonderful treat. The cukes were also absolutely in point. This fellow knows what healthy doing. Respect. I look forward to trying his pulled pork sammy, smoked wings, brisket, and more. Great again We…read morepicked up a half rack of ribs and pulled pork yesterday. We have been visiting Choo at least a few times a year for what has now been 7 years. I've always liked stopping by, knowing there would be a couple of great meals in my very near future. We typically just get a full rack, which comes with a scoop of commercial potato salad, coleslaw, and baked beans. No sauce needed. As I recall, they use a Tennessee rub. This time, because we were having company, we opted for the half rack and their excellent pulled pork. Choo is a good down to earth guy, he and his assistants always treating me well. They often also offer homemade baking items, although the lady wasn't there when we visited this time. In the new reality of Covid-19, Choo was wearing a mask, maybe because he saw me walking up with one, other customers were not. Located in a sheltered outdoor spot next to the Shell gas station and across from Detwyler's Farm Market, it can be difficult to locate the first time, but worth it. We found it one day by following the wonderful aroma after we shopped at Detwyler's. Choo Choo's is only open on Saturdays from I think 8am until they decide to close and have been doing barbeque for 20 years.

We lost 2/3 of our potential customers because there was nothing there to eat. I coordinated another food truck that ended up showing up at about 630 and by then most of the customers were gone. Very unprofessional!! I was on the fundraising committee and she ghosted us for a couple of months prior to our event would not answer phone calls or emails. A week before the event, she finally reached out to us and promised us that she would be there. She did not show up ! The charity that we raised money for during this event suffered.

Texas bbq has always been at the top of my list after traveling and working in Texas for decades and experiencing what I think is some of the best on the planet. I admit my expectations were pretty high long before I walked through the door here - just from the exterior and interior ambiance I immediately knew these people are serious bbq people and some of the friendliest you'll ever meet. In my opinion eating bbq should be an experience yes the meat preparations are of the utmost most importances but the sides, and desserts also have to be on point as well and of course fresh brewed tea. I wanted to try it all which is not reasonable so I read the menu, scanned the daily specials board(s) and also considered the recommendations by our wonderful server. We enjoyed some great sandwiches and sides and couldn't of had a better lunch during our drive through southwest Florida. Chopped Brisket Sandwich - the bun was fresh and toasted perfectly so it held up to the sauce that I drenched on the beautifully smoked meat, the lean to fat ratio was absolutely perfect and the smoked flavors came through making this one of the best bbq sandwiches I've eaten in a very long time. Pulled Pork Sandwich - the perfectly smoked pork was piled high and very lean, this is a big and delicious work of art. We ordered the sauce on the side so we could control the portion and it worked out great. Pinto Beans - these beans are cooked down until they melted into the smooth and creamy broth that was filled with onions and jalapeño peppers - these are a must try especially if you top them with some fresh raw onion and a few dashes of the Tabasco Pepper Vinegar table side the only thing I regret is that I didn't get a quart of these to take back to the campground. Fried Okra - Crispy deliciousness a southern delicacy served with ranch dressing, this combination is never a disappointment when done right and they do the okra right here. It was nice to get pickles and raw onions on the side, in my opinion if a bbq joint misses this step they don't understand what a bbq experience should be.
