Ok.. as I stated in previous reviews, "South Jersey girl , living in a Pennsy world ".. good Italian food has been very hard to come by. Appear that meets my expectations. My neighbor had told me about Juliana's 's and I was eager to try it. We went on Christmas Eve and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Was probably the best bruschetta I've had in off "jersey tomato season". Sorry, but nothing else compares to that. Anyway, I had a dish with crab shrimp over white wine pasta.. it was delicious.. cannoli for dinner and a nice white vino to accompany my meal. My Medi-gah (American lol) hubby had meat stuffed shells.. he's never had them before and I'm not sure that he enjoyed them only because he's used to the cheese version. He's not a big fan of Italian food like I am so we will count him out on this one. He has no connoisseur Italian food tho he tries! Someone had mentioned in a previous review that the service would be mediocre at best. I found our server young, but attentive. She was polite and efficient. I want to say her name was Brie.. we discussed how she looked Northern Italian..(my mother's family is light- haired and blue eyed--) So fast forward they are also on DoorDash and I had papardelle in meat sauce (pah pah rah dell) delivered along with another order of bruschetta.. I was expecting the Italian toast on the bruschetta to be soggy and the tomato to be all over the place but it wasn't. Or DoorDasher even did a great job delivering! Ordered an Italian sandwich with oil. Informed the waitress that they sandwich had vinegar and oil. She insisted she told the kitchen oil only. Five minutes later she approached our table and said she checked and yes she wrote just oil. She mentioned the kitchen blamed her. She asked if I wanted her to make a new sandwich after I had already eaten almost half. I told her no I'd deal with it. I didn't finish more then half the sandwich she asked if I wanted to take it home. I said, no I didn't like it. The mozzarella sticks also had a weird taste like the oil was old however the French fries were good which doesn't make sense that they tasted good but mozzarella sticks did not. We love Juliana's, the owner, and the staff. When we arrived, we were greeted by Charice who was friendly and happy to seat us without a reservation. The service was top-notch with Aileen as our server. Super attentive to our needs and pleasant with a big smile...which made us all smile. Meal was delicious even if it wasn't what I ordered. On the main menu was pesto salmon with rosemary potatoes and asparagus. That is what I ordered. On the special menu was blackened salmon with pesto pasta. I didn't know that. When the waitress came back and asked if I wanted the salmon blackened, I said no. After she left I said to my son, that I didn't know why she asked me that question? When I got my meal I found out why. They gave me the special, not what was on the main menu. I had heard such great things about Juliana's from friends & family so we decided have dinner there. Sad to say we were very disappointed with the food. I had the carbonara & the pancetta was all fatty & soggy. I picked all the pancetta out & it still wasn't good. My husband had the Lobster Ravioli with shrimp & the ravioli were very "fishy". Went there for my Birthday with my family (about 18 of us in total). This is the second time we have gone to this restaurant. The first time for my last birthday. I do realize we were a larger party but we were there for almost 3 hours and did not order any dessert. Food was very good but it took forever to arrive and the waitress was slow. My Son and Daughter wanted a little extra sauce for their pasta dishes and after over 15 minutes we flagged down the waitress and was told that the sauce was made fresh and she put a ticket in but there were tickets ahead of ours so they just told her to cancel the order. My biggest issue was that we were charged more for our food than what the menu states. We were told that they are working on changing their menu's and upon thinking about it I realized they did and said the same thing last year when we went. I believe a year is enough time to get new menus. The food is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. Will probably never go back. It's a shame because we did enjoy the food. read more

Juliana's was a big disappointment. I ordered an arugula salad with chicken. I was served a mixed green salad instead of arugula. When I inquired about my order, I was brusquely told they were out of arugula...period! No more questions. Also, I ordered two cocktails on the rocks. When my check arrived, I was charged $4.00 for rocks (ice). The manager ungraciously said "don't you know every restaurant charges for rocks?" Well sir, I have been in restaurants all over the world and NEVER been charged for ice in a drink. In my opinion, ill-mannered, impudent people should not be employed by a service industry. Our server was very friendly and attentive and did a great job at describing the food and guiding everyone all four of us to something we enjoyed. Just moved around the corner from Juliana's. My first visit I was blown away with my meal. However, I wanted to come back a second time to see if it would be as good before I left a review. I have to say my second visit was equally as amazing as my first. Going with a small group for both dinner and their Sunday brunch I was able to try a number of things off the menu and the bottom line is the food is on point. Not only was everything we had really fresh, the quality and taste of the food is outstanding. 100% have to go and see for yourself. I recommend, their homemade pasta dishes, the grandmas pizza is ridiculous with just the right amount of garlic and the sauce was perfect. For brunch the poached eggs in marinara is something I wish I could have every morning and not something I've seen before. This is the best pizza ever. It has only gotten better in the last month as well! I feel like since I've started going to julianas in December, the pizza has taken a tremendous step forward in the last 1-2 months.. MUST TRY. For all the other pizza spots in the area... from Mamas, paolos, Anthony coal fire pizza, Bella's, and all the other places... this pizza is by far the best. I went to Julianna's last night because I had heard really great things about the food there , my boyfriend made a 6 pm reservation for my birthday dinner, we showed up at 6 got our table , ordered our drinks, appetizer and entrees right away. We then waited about 35 min for our appetizer which was really good, but then sat at our table for another hour being ignored until we finally asked our waiter how long till our food would be ready, we were told 5 - 10 min when another 20 min went by we asked for a manager and that's when our experience went from bad to way worse! The manager came out first off wearing a dirty apron and a bad attitude, we simply just told him how long we had been waiting and wanted to know what was going on especially since people that we had walked in with were already done with their desserts and some had even left and we had not had our entrees yet ? Let me just add that I have worked in the industry for over a decade and I fully understand that things happen and that kitchens get backed up especially on a Saturday night at dinner time BUT instead of him simply saying that he is sorry and would go get our food he proceeded to argue with us and point out that we are not at McDonald's and that it is perfectly acceptable for us to be waiting that long for our food! At that point we were shocked that he was arguing back and forth with us at our table and the minute he didn't like what we had to say ( which was nothing inappropriate we were just not backing down from him ) he made us get up and leave without our dinner! I have never in my life written anything on yelp b/c of the fact that I have worked in the food industry , so the fact that I am on here writing this really means that my experience there was that bad! You can have the best food in berks county but when your service sucks and management thinks it's okay to insult and treat their customers like we were treated last night that can ruin any restaurant . read more

We came without a reservation on a Saturday night and the place was packed, with good reasons. The pizza was thin and tasty like we are used to being from New York and the service was friendly. We also had a pasta, an order of asparagus and the calamari starter. Everything tasted very good but there was far too much food for a party of three. We expected to take home some Leftovers but not an additional three meals worth. They could have served 1/3 of the portions and it still would have matched the price point. My high school son just went there to meet his friend for his birthday. As children they are all paying for themselves and asked for separate checks, there was approximately 8 17-18 year olds, and they were told they refuse to do separate checks. My son showed up home and said that they were not able to celebrate his birthday because of this policy. As a teenager I always did separate checks with my friends at multiple establishments with no problems. Ordered take out on a Friday night for the first time. Barely understood the person on the phone who placed me on hold numerous times mid-sentence. Ordered cheese pizza, Hawaiian pizza, wings, mozzarella sticks, and Risotto. Food was ready when we got there. Mozz sticks were normal. The pizza has a good flavor but the dough/crust tasted like pre-made pizza shells. Wings were cooked well and flavor was just ok but we didn't get any carrots/celery or any blue cheese/ranch. The risotto was slightly overcooked but had an amazing flavor once I picked out the forest of rosemary. I'm not really sure why that would be in it I'm the first place. Bottom line: I would order take out again and try something different but it definitely wasn't worth the $60 bill read more

Unprofessional owners, management, and staff. When they first opened we tried a pizza. It was not very good. It was edible, but had canned olives thrown over one side. I left a review of Facebook since there was no yelp listing at the time. The owner, his son, and their friends repeatedly harassed me on Facebook for leaving a 2 star review. It got to be so bad that my spouse called and told them to stop harassing me. The harassment continued so I contacted the south Heidelberg police. The police paid the owner a visit and told them to stop. I deleted my review because of the harassment. We will never go back to this creepy place ever again. If you own a restaurant and you can't take a review that is fair and honest you don't belong in the service industry. Harassing customers and going one step even further by have your employees and friends do this is inappropriate. How can any customer ever be sure that these people won't steal their credit card numbers or put something bad or poisonous in their food? We went in for a nice family dinner. We were seated right away and our order was taken. Simple order Spaghetti with meatball, ziti, and risotto. We watched people (3 tables) come in behind us get there food and leave and our food had yet to come out. We asked about it, they said they were behind in the kitchen. That didn't make sense since we were seeing people come and go. Once our food arrived it was terrible. The sauce tasted like it was burnt (like it was scraped from the bottom of the pot). I want to like this place so much. We ordered our food at 6:10. Ordered an appetizer and 2 entrees'. Got our salads that came with our entrees pretty quick. Waited a while and saw all the other guests that ordered at the exact same time we did get their food. The table right next to yours for their food, got boxes and got their check and we still didn't get our appetizer yet. We asked about it and the bartender said he actually never put it in the computer. Ok. So we waited about 15 mins and still no food. So we got the bartenders attention and said we were leaving. Didn't even try to justify it. No manager came over. He just said sorry and left us leave. We waited over an hour and no food. Left hungry and disappointed. read more
