The restaurant was busy on Saturday night, but the staff was still friendly and attentive. The Chicken Pesto Linguine was excellent. The pesto sauce is made with basil, pine nuts, garlic, and olive oil. The sauce is delicately complex and understated. It worked perfectly with the cubes of chicken breast, red onions, bell peppers, and linguine pasta. This dish is a nice option that is much different from the popular marinara or Alfredo sauces. It was executed very well. My wife ordered the Lasagne, and she thought is was just okay. The sauce, pasta and cheese were right, but there was only a small trace of meat. The serving was large, but if you are used to a meatier lasagna you may be disappointed. My daughter ordered the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo. The Alfredo sauce was rich and creamy. The shrimp were large and looked good. Kristine thought the shrimp were flavorless, but otherwise didn't have any complaints. All dishes were served with a 6 inch loaf of fresh bread. Like George Washington said, "I cannot tell a lie". When my 10 inch meat pizza arrived, I thought to myself- "I paid $14 for this?! It had better be good!!" Read on to get the answer. My mom felt like it was a spaghetti night for her. After remembering reading favorable reviews of this place, I suggested she order something from here. I had been wanting to try a dish from here as well, so it seemed like as good a time as any to stop here after work. I ordered the 10 inch meat pizza; my mom wanted the spaghetti and meatballs. Obviously, I didn't do good with measurements in school because I didn't realize how small a 10 inch pizza was. It was perfect for one person, sure, but for $14, it was the size of a slice. However, after the first bite, I realized I paid for an authentic pizza with tasty sauce and real toppings and gooey cheese. It wasn't greasy at all but well cooked and, well, it was some of the best pizza I've had in awhile. My mom, who is a very picky eater these days, says that she loved her spaghetti. That speaks volumes for this restaurant. She raved about how it was enough food for two people and how many meatballs they put on her plate. Way to win my heart Guiseppe's! Giuseppe's has long been my favorite for yummy, hearty pasta. I came in for lunch on Monday afternoon and ordered the usual; Chicken Cacciatore. (I think the price went up from when I was last here since my total was $14~ instead of the $12~ I was expecting. Maybe it was just tax). I sat down and my food came out quickly and was piping hot! Nothing beats hot pasta and tomato sauce on a cold, stormy day. It definitely hit the spot. The portions are huge so I ended up taking half of it home. Definitely recommend Giuseppe's! i move italian food and i'm always on the hunt for local businesses to support, and this is how i landed here. ot is afamily owned restaurant and very, very tiny. there's only like 6-7 tables inside so expect a long wait time specially if you go on a weekend evening. i'm not sure if they take reservations, but i recommend you call and see before you show up because you will be waiting for hours. literally. overall i rate this experience 3/5 due to the long wait and also the service was subpart. once we were sat, we waited a long time before out server acknowledged us or brought out drinks. we also had to ask several times before our glasses were refilled. the food, on the other hand, was great! i tried the chicken pesto linguine. i prefer creamy/saucy pasta dishes so i ended up ordering a side of alfredo sauce and poured it on the pasta. you should deff try doing this if you come here and order this dish! you will not he dissapointed! read more

This is a Birmingham gem. I have been going here for many years and still love it. Most restaraunts get old after a while. But Giuseppe's just gets better. I generally choose the calzones, however I diverge and get the lasagna and Spaghetti and meat balls for a change. The servings are huge and the quality is excellent. The atmosphere reminds me of the mom and pop restaurants I frequented in Europe (minus the room temperature Coke ) Give them a try you may find a new favorite. read more

Today we went to Giuseppe's to get takeout after visiting Callahan in Birmingham. We ordered Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, 7 Vegetable Penne, Chicken Cacciatore, Chicken Pesto Linguine, Club Sub and a House Salad. Everything was great. We have been coming here for several years. I am very happy they are still in business. The dining area is small. They do a great takeout business supplying students at UAB and citizens in the Birmingham area with freshly made hot delicious food. Tonight the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo was the bomb. OG cannot make the dish better!!! My personal favorite is the Chicken Cacciatore! I declared "awesome" and devoured my portion quickly! Absolutely delicious!!! Please get takeout soon. just went for the first time today with my SO. we walked in and no FOH staff was there at all, so we just stood there until a kitchen person saw me and just waved. they didn't come to help or anything. finally someone came and we asked to sit outside but had to bus a table for ourselves because they were all dirty. we sat down at 8:52 and immediately ordered cheese bread. the waitress then proceeded to tell us she was "popping it in now because the kitchen closes in 15 minutes." not a big deal but was very passive aggressive and made us feel rushed. we still hadn't even gotten menus handed to us and she was already telling us to hurry up. overall just absolutely horrid customer service. we never even got silverware or anything, just a couple plates and like 3 napkins. seriously the service just sucked. that being said, the food itself was SO. GOOD. like seriously the cheese bread is fantastic and so was the pizza. we got a plain old pepperoni and some ranch (which was amazing too!!!!!) and a cannoli. just some old fashioned pizzeria faves. the cannoli shell is dipped in chocolate too which was an awesome surprise. overall, i'm giving three because seriously the service was atrocious. i'd definitely order takeout but i'd be apprehensive to have a sit down meal there again. read more

Upon arriving in the magic city we decided Giuseppe's was a must. Ordered the large all meat, cheese bread, and a side of parmesan cheese. My 92 year old mother who has never eaten here proclaimed it won't be as good as Godfathers. She wolfed down 3 pcs of cheese bread with marinara sauce. After eating 2 slices of the all meat pizza she proclaimed it was her best pizza and cheese bread. She wants to go back and try the pasta dishes. Got take out for lunch using the lunch menu. We got Caesar salad, manicotti, and a 6 inch meatball sub. The salad was wonderful. I think their dressing was homemade. For the lunch size, they gave you two manicotti, dinner is three. It was very good with just enough sauce. They did not include any bread, which I thought they would. The meatball sub was a bit small for $10.00, but the meatballs were delicious. And it was covered with melted provolone. Next time , I think I'd prefer to eat in. Will go again! read more
