Nice quaint place. Chicken Alfredo, Manicotti and Greek Delights Calzone were all solid choices. For a Monday there was a constant flow of diners. The calzones are my favorite here! The size of them is what gets me! They are as big as my head and my eyes love it. Satisfies both eyes and stomach. They also have nice pastas to choose from. I had the lasagna lunch portion, which came at over $12 after tax and came with a piece of bread. I always come here for their calzones. These things are massive and always have a huge amount of toppings. I usually get the all meats calzone, but this time I decided to try the chicken pesto calzone. This bad boy was just as tasty and was perfect since I wasn't in the mood for beef or pork. The chicken is incredibly moist and the stringy, excessive amounts of mozzarella made this one of the better calzones I've had. The staff was attentive and kind and made sure we were comfortable and kept our waters topped off. Last night my husband and I shared a large meat special pizza... it was fantastic! I love their pizza crust- it's crispy, but not too much and very tasty. The toppings were all delicious. They serve the pizza on a tray that keeps it from getting soggy which is important! LOL ...and the leftovers heated up perfectly in our air fryer. We were seated quickly as a table of four on a busy Saturday night. The quality service was attentive and quick. I ordered the all meats calzone and cheese bread. The cheese bread was soft and very CHEESY, one of the best that I've had. The all meats calzone was incredible, with the cheese binding all of them together. It was HUGE. I have never eaten at Giuseppe's before. But I am so glad that I did. We decided to go here after looking at various options. When we arrived, we saw this small little building and all I could think was, "this is going to be great." You order and and pay at the counter and then find your table of choice. They prepare the food and then bring it to your table. I obviously ordered pizza but I couldn't resist the pasta. So we ended up ordering the Giuseppe Special Pizza, chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and chicken florentine. Not one item disappointed. The pizza was cooked perfectly. The toppings were fresh and not dry at all. The dough had the perfect mild crunch. The pastas were both amazing. The sauces were thick and flavorful. They didn't short us on the chicken either. The staff was very friendly. It had a nice neighborhood feel to it. There was also a nice traditional Italian ambience to the place. I loved it. There were no COVID protocols in place that I could see. Our to go containers were plastic and paper boxes. Everything we got was SO salty, it was almost inedible. And the Alfredo sauce had a horrible taste like a dirty dish rag. Thankfully, someone else was paying for the meal. Throughout my time in Birmingham, I have really enjoyed this place for dinner or lunch. Its a great place to take someone for a first date on, and is priced very well for the food they serve. For lunch, you can never go wrong with one of their sub combos. Their menu may be small, but I am still broken over all the choices for dinner. I love all of their pastas, especially the Linguine Alfredo. Occasionally, I get a 16" pizza to split with a friend or a calzone for myself. Either way, you can't go wrong with the food here especially paired with the very comfortable atmosphere. Service is very friendly! The only downside to the restaurant is that there isometimes a very long wait due to the small interior. I will definitely be back soon though! read more

Giuseppe's is one of my favorite pizza places. Went there for lunch today, have only ever been for dinner. There was a wait to sit inside but we were able to be sat outside right away. The service was good, quick and the pizza was out super fast. I really like their pizza because the crust is crisp and not soggy which is a problem you run into at other pizza places. The employees were wearing masks and the seating seemed to be spaced out more so than when I had gone pre-COVID 19. They also had signs up saying customers needed to have on a mask. While they have traditional sit down restaurant plates (ceramic) for the pizza they did give plastic utensils and styrofoam cups, they could use more sustainable materials. We had the meat lovers pizza, and it was outstanding. And the other dishes that folks around the restaurant we're enjoying looked great as well. Very small beer and wine selection, but very reasonably priced (as was everything on the menu). The tables and booths are not very nice or sturdy, but that added to the charm of the place. The reviews don't lie. The restaurant is located in a shady looking plaza with questionable individuals lingering around as you pull your car up into the parking lot. I was nearly convinced someone was going to smash my car window. Fortunately, the restaurant interior wasn't reflective of that. The service was courteous, polite, and cheery. The Chef's special had a layer of meat and toppings that delightfully tumbles over into your plate. The vegetable combination I customized was delicious. It tasted extra cheesy and and the marina sauce flavor lingers pleasantly. The marinara sauce sides were warm enough to dip your soft pizza crusts. Refrigerator Test: Still tastes great.
