Food is great! Haven't eaten in the restaurant yet but have been in their. Looks nice on the inside and they are always packed. The only complaint I would have is they don't really communicate delays or problems with you order till your checking out. The last time I was there, a girl flipped out as after asking she found out her order was delayed about an another 40 minutes, after she sat there for an hour. Something similar happened to me but luckily mine was only about 45 minutes. The girls at the register never said a word. read more

We Just went there for a late lunch. It wasn't busy, but as we waited, a party started to come in. We ordered, there were 4 of us .. simple dinners. Three of us got served, one didn't, and the waitress said it would be right out. Minutes passed as we all waited to eat until everyone was served; it was polite. More minutes passed, and the waitress passed several times, seeing we were missing a plate, more concerned about the party forming. The waitress came by and said they were almost done. Again, she passed our table several times, still seeing we were missing a plate, and we started to eat as our dinner was getting cold. I finally got up and went to the counter and asked where our order was. They all looked confused, and the waitress came up and said they were still not ready. I said, please take them off the bill. By this time, the other three were done eating. She returned to the table and asked if we still wanted the food or take it off our bill. I said take off our bill. She said they never started the order, and all she could say was, "I'm not the cook." We will not revisit this establishment. They lied and lied again. Not how a business should run. But, to avoid the issues of the delivery driver stealing our food, we did pick up and the delivery driver took our food so we had to wait for our order to be completed again. Looks like not much from the outside as it's at the very end of a strip mall, but the menu was impressive and the food outstanding. I had the Chicken French with lemon butter wine sauce over angel hair, and ordered veggies on the side. Portion size was more than ample for my appetite and I took my leftovers home. The food was good but the prices were much higher than listed on the menu. When we received our bill, I asked the waitress why our bill was much higher than listed on the menu. She said, "Oh we have to print new menus". I thought that was unprofessional ad bad customer service. She should have told us before we ordered or they should have put a note on the menus that they were handing out to customers. We will never go there again. They lied to us and did not do anything to fix their error. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Never ever go to this place. Food was not worth being treated the way we were. I was visiting and made a reservation weeks in advance for a group to have dinner together. We all ordered pasta. Two other tables with large groups sat down and were finished before we ever got our meal. TWO HOURS later after asking repeatedly for a manager and questioning where our food was the owner came out and said there was nothing he could do about it and basically it wasn't his problem. He didn't offer to comp our meal and when we asked directly for him to comp it he said "No, I have to pay my bills!" I have never been treated with such disrespect at a restaurant before. Excellent service but food was quite expensive compared to other same types of restaurants. My meatball sub was good but the ham and cheese sub I picked up for my husband was horrible. It was all hard bread with 2 slices of ham two slice of cheese. Was supposed to have lettuce tomato and onions but you could barely see any of that. Just some soggy wilted lettuce. We had a baptism party last month at Guiseppe's and it was perfect. Their private room fit everyone and we felt very safe. The staff was attentive and the food was great. First time visit to Giuseppe's today. My friends and I had about 45 minutes to kill before leaving to pick up someone from work. I was highly impressed right out of the gate. We were acknowledged promptly upon arrival, and told to seat ourselves. The pizza seating area was empty so we had our pick of seats. Server arrived quickly, and was jovial. We ordered the basics: 3 sodas to start, one side of the table orders a dozen wings, and the other side orders a medium plain cheese pizza. Ordering separately would surely eliminate the need to have the check split up later to accommodate everyone's varying currency. While we waited, we noticed the restaurant was very clean in all the right places (even lampshades, and windowsills). Sodas came in glasses made of actual glass. Nice. We received hot bread with real butter, and small plates with extra napkins WITHOUT asking! Very nice. We finished the bread about 10 minutes after ordering. We were offered more bread, and soda refills which we declined. Our plates were removed, and 3 more, larger plates were brought to the table with even more extra napkins. Again, very nice. Surely the food was on its way. We're 20 minutes deep at this point. Drink refills were offered again, and declined. Another 10 minutes pass with no sign of the food. The server wordlessly sets a Christmas card on our table from the restaurant. A nice, if confusing gesture. We then decide to ask to have our food to go when he next passes by as our cut off time was quickly approaching. He seats another table nearby, and I stop him, and ask for our order to be boxed. He says sure, and again offers soda refills. Which are again declined. I get up to go to the bathroom, and when I come back the pizza is there in a box, but still no wings. Our time is just about up as he brings one single check over, despite our ordering separately earlier, and says the wings will be done by the time he runs my card. They were, but we leave scratching our heads as to how 12 wings, and a single medium cheese pizza could take over 40 minutes in an empty restaurant on a Thursday before dinnertime? In summation, Giuseppe's started off very impressively, but managed to snatch a 2 star review from the jaws of a 5 star review in under an hour. We will try again because until the long wait, they provided one of the best service experiences I've ever had. read more

A pizzeria and Italian restaurant tucked away in the corner of Grand Central Plaza. Everything is good... not fine dining, but good at a reasonable price. They have pasta dishes, chicken parm, pizza, sandwiches, etc. Last week, I tried their cauliflower crust pizza... it's gluten free, but not low carb... but it is DELICIOUS! The crust is thin and crisp vs. the chewier traditional crust on their regular pizza. Had mine with olives and was very pleased! Their house Italian salad dressing is the best! Get that in their Greek salad and topped with grilled chicken! So so good! The service is hit or miss ... I'm not convinced the hostess communicates well with the servers, but they're all friendly enough. Worth visiting. read more

This is a nice Italian family restaurant. The prices went up as of the new year and they made some renovations as well. The wait staff is always attentive. I usually get the pasta Francesca with shrimp which is marinara and Alfredo sauce mixed and it is delicious. I have also gotten manicotti, stuffed shells, Cheesesteak, Guiseppe's special pizza, fish fry, Stromboli, and gnocchi. I thought all of these were excellent with the exception of the gnocchi because I'm not a fan of potato based pasta. We also usually get 1/2 dozen garlic knots and they are absolutely amazing. My husband also likes to order the pasta arrabbiata and the only thing that was not to his liking was the steak salad. Everything else has been wonderful. read more

Whenever we are in Horseheads, NY, my husband and I ALWAYS want to go to Guiseppes. We love their pizza and I love their gluten free pizza. Being gluten free means most if not all pizza is terrible. Not here!! Just make sure you tell them to bake it a little longer. The reason for only 3 stars is because of the service. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and the rush had not started. Tony H. was our server. He looked like he was miserable and didn't want to be there. He never refilled our drinks or even asked if we want refills. I had to ask another server. Recently in Elmira and someone at the hotel suggested Giuseppe's. I'm glad he did. As others note, it's in a strip mall and easy to miss. Fairly plain interior with a counter where slices of pieces are available and a row of booths for seating. It's reminiscent of countless cheap restaurants with pizza and so so Italian food. That is not, however, what it is. The service was excellent - she waited on us quickly, explained the menu, answered questions, checked on us from time to time, resolved one small issue, and was both pleasant and professional. The star is the food. It was delicious. We were provided a small loaf of bread right out of the oven - a great start. We had bruschetta for an appetizer and the tomatoes must have been picked by the chef on his way in, fresh and delicious. My friend had pasta and it too was delicious - nice pasta and tasty, mild tomato sauce. I had pizza and it reminded me of my favorite pizzeria back home. Everything was perfect. I notice some people complain about the prices. Our meal, which included two soft drinks was around $45. Keep in mind I ordered a whole pizza and took much of it back for the hotel staff. It is not fast food or cheap diner prices. But given the level of service and the quality of the food, it was a bargain. I wish there was a similar place in my neighborhood, I'd be a regular. i went to the Elmira restaurant on second Street and for almost 19 dollars got a unseasoned burger fries that were not very hot and diet coke that was 4 dollars and was basically All ice cubes waitress was nice but management shrugged off my complaint so I recommend not eating there read more

First time here and I have to say I was overall quite pleased. Apparently there are 2 entrances, one which appears is for the "pizza side" perhaps for take out and to pick up pizza, and the other is on the north end which is more for the "dine-in" part. We entered on the "pizza end" and were acknowledged and greeted right away (Bravo to Giuseppe's for such a small gesture that makes such a big difference!) and told to head towards the dining area and someone would seat us. A huge pet peeve of mine is to walk into a restaurant and not at least be greeted or acknowledged by someone. It's amazing how many places you walk into and employees walk right past you as you stand there and don't say a word... The place was about 3/4 full on a Friday evening. I was in the mood for pasta. The menu available on Yelp was very limited, and did not show dinners options (would recommend updated online menu), but we decided to try it anyways hoping the menu offered more. We weren't disappointed, the menu is large with items ranging from pizza, salads, sandwiches, pasta and other dinners - definitely something for everyone. Food: We had the garlic knots which were hot, fresh, and delicious. Also Pasta Francescana: a pasta dish combining Alfredo and red tomato sauce served over penne - large portion with great flavor in a creamy sauce (could taste the garlic!), and another was Pasta Arrabiatta: spicy sauce served over penne. Dish was indeed spicy and awesome - nice chunks of tomato and great flavor. No one makes arrabiatta sauce spicy enough for me so I was impressed! Salads: fresh and green, ordered crumbly blue cheese and they brought an ample portion of it on the side, and the Italian dressing was very good. Service: No complaints. Our server did a very good job and he was very attentive. Price: A bit on the high side for some of the items I thought. Some items seemed reasonable, some seemed a little high. Not enough to stop me from going again, as I'll pay a higher price for good food, but I was surprised a little by the prices of the dinner items. Atmosphere: Well, not much but that was ok. More on the diner side I'd say. Family friendly, perfunctory, very casual and informal. It seemed like a friendly and comfortable place to have dinner. Overall it was a very good experience. The food had great flavor and the portions were very generous. We'll definitely return, no question. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for great food in a very casual atmosphere. read more

Trying to find the pizza place you can count on in a new area is difficult, some are too greasy, some don't have the good flavor, etc etc. Well, I think I found my go-to pizza place and I am so happy it was sooner rather than later! I've only ever ordered for take out so I don't know what the atmosphere is like inside or the wait staff, but the food is good. It's genuinely good pizza. We ordered garlic knots this past time and they were SOOOOO good! The sauce was perfect and the smell/taste of garlic was at a good ratio. Medium pizza and 6 garlic knots cost us about $20, definitely worth it and it's not too far from where I live so it makes it easy to order and pick up. There is seating inside, outside, and around the bar. Yes, there is a bar, but it's only open until 10pm, which kind of stinks. I wish it was open a little later because it would be a great spot to hang out, eat, watch some football, and have a drink. Oh well. Oh, and I was sad to see they don't carry onion rings. The Yelp menu says they have it but they don't, breaking my heart here. I'll still come back for pizza though. read more

I understand that when a restaurant is busy it may take a little longer to get food served but 2 hours for pasta and pizza is crazy! And to make matters worse when we asked what was taking so long the manager basically blamed us for not being patient. He actually raised his voice to us. I'm not sure what happened with our order since tables that arrived after us were served, ate and left before we saw anything delivered to our table. No excuses...it doesn't take 2 hours to prepare lasagna, spaghetti and a pizza. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of the wait staff being apologetic. By all means come and eat here if you have a few hours to kill for basic Italian food but I know I'll never waste my time here again. read more
