There were 6 of their own taps and 2 guest taps. We got a flight for all of them. They were all pretty good. There was a saison, an IPA, and an APA. I can't remember what the others were. Since it's Parched Eagle's taproom, they have several choices available, currently six, with four guest taps. PE brews a wide range, with some standards (Hop Bearer, their flagship IPA, is fantastic!) and a nice mix of rotating and seasonal flavors. Guest taps include a dedicated line for a gluten free selection from Madison's Alt Brew. The share the building with Maria's (pinball & beer) and the Art In (art gallery / event space), making for a cool and interesting trifecta. The location, RIGHT off the bike path & East Washington, can't be beat. Not only can you bike here easily, it's also right off the Yahara and easily accessible for seafaring beer lovers!

The ambiance easily deserves its own paragraph. I loved the unique and inviting seating, the board game shelf, the record player, and the old piano near the entryway. There's also a performance room, and I wish I'd had the chance to see it in action! According to the bar tender, they host plays, music, and even drag shows! Rarely do I find such a treasure in rural Wisconsin. I can't wait to return, hopefully someday soon!

Our pup is always happy to come along, and we even picked up one of their dog toys from the merch area -- easily her new favorite. They've got some fun merch for humans too. The beer selection is solid, with something for everyone. We've really enjoyed the Lil Louie Lager and Badger Club Amber, and they always have a few rotating taps that keep things interesting. The staff has been consistently friendly and welcoming every time we've visited. If there's one area for improvement, it's the atmosphere. The space itself is awesome, but it sometimes feels like it's missing a little energy I'd love to see more events, live music, or themed nights to bring the place to life. Lots of Blatz beer memorabilia, brand new shuffleboard table, a giant elk, moose antlers, vintage skis, an Elvis clock, cobalt glass bottles, a handmade bar, and lots more eclectic decor. The beer selection was top notch, and even better taps than we found in New Glarus, where everything seems to be New Glarus beer all the time (nothing wrong with that). Really good focus on local and regional brewers, there were taps from Titletown, Common Thread, Hop Garden (Belleville), Lena, Vintage, Central Waters, Summit, and Hinterland. New Glarus Berliner Weisse in the cooler, along with old standbys and unique craft beers. Another plus is that they update the beer list on beermenus. If beer isn't your thing, they also had an impressive selection of over 40 whiskeys. We didn't think they served food here, but lucked out since there was a Saturday special of homemade pork/chicken gumbo, which was served with homemade cornbread and bourbon butter. It was really tasty. The owner used to be a chef and ran a restaurant here prior to opening the Ale House. Our bill for two beers, gumbo and a big pretzel was $16, that's cheap for such high quality. They are only open 3 days a week, and it's just one guy running the show. If you are traveling a distance or bringing a group it would be wise to call ahead. The one-star reviews here reflect more on shortsighted personal entitlement than the establishment, from my experience.

Set that aside and their burger is quite good.. they didnt have fries this day and no jalapeño which is an option... for their burger .. I used Texas toast so that was a new and pretty good.... Love the small bar atmosphere... the bar tender was working hard cause seats were full at 3pm on a Sunday can't imagine how crowded this place could get...
