Fabulous, woman owned tap house that checks all the boxes. It was a cold day I was here but saw theres a great outdoor space that in the summer would be wonderful. The inside is more like a coffeehouse vibe that has 30-ish taps where you can sample small amounts or fill your pint. You get a card at the register and tap the beer of your choice fill as much as you want and be done. Know that the card has a consumption limit which is smart. I confess, Ive never been to a beer experience like this before and it was great. There's live music and free popcorn. We were only stopping for 1 beer each and ended up staying 2 hours. Don't pass this place up!

A brewery with an innovative and fun twist! Step into Dirty Dog Taphaus and your eyes will be drawn immediately to the long line of taps not behind a bar / manned by a bartender. That's right-the 30 taps here are self-serve and the variety/possibilities are endless. You can do tasting after tasting - you're charged by the ounce - or fill up a full glass and move to the distinctive, stylish outside patio space. Or lounge indoors and enjoy some complimentary popcorn along with the rustic touches and a game. Bonus! The entire place is dog-friendly. To get started, head to the cashier and fill a plastic electronic card with some funds. Then head to the taps. Hold up your card to the tap you want to open and fill your cup up to your heart's content! When you're ready to call it a day head back to the cashier and any unused finds on your card will be returned to you - if you loaded with cash. Noteworthy: they are accommodating / customer first. While visiting, I wanted a sour beer and they didn't have any on tap. I asked about another brew closest to a sour and they went ahead and added a sour to a tap in just a few minutes! Double Bonus: They had complimentary stickers available at the indoor check-out/in bar. Overall, in a town synonymous with "Spotted Cow" aka New Glarus Brewery this brewery is a good & welcome addition plus... the location is fantastic - in the heart of the town's downtown by all the action.

Great beer garden and pour your own concept. No ordering remorse! The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, and they were hard at work on Fathers Day treating dads to some relaxing family time. When you arrive you get a card which opens the taps for you and counts your pours. Each tap has a screen with the price per oz and info about the beverages. Then you pick your favorite to try a few sips, or a whole pint. They have beers, seltzers, and even a regular root beer for the kids. Free popcorn, and an appetizer menu. We had the cheese curds, chicken, and pretzel bites. The only thing to make this better would be more shade outside for the patio.

EVERYONE needs to experience this Taphaus! We can't say enough about the wonderful time we had here this past weekend! This was our first time here, but by no means were we not greeted and treated like local longstanding customers. Leah took the time to explain to us how the card system works and even went over to the tap wall to show me in person. Countless options for all the beer drinkers; IPAs all the way to a variety of ciders. The McKenzie's Black Cherry Hard Cider was my fav ;) Both chilled and room temp glasses available to be used. Loved the outdoor layout, table options, lots of shaded seats to beat the heat while with the dog. Happened to be National Dog day, to which the dog was spoiled with a generous Pup cup! Very dog friendly atmosphere! Loved our first night so much, we were back for night 2. Great music, countless games to play, delicious food and many beers drank! I don't know who loved coming here more; us or the dog! Walked away with swag, memories, and confirming we aren't dehydrated! Wonderful experience and such genuinely kind owners that made all the difference! We will be back and definitely recommending family and friends to stop by!

This was such a nice find on a Saturday afternoon stop in New Glarus! We liked the pour it beer system and enjoyed the onion rings and the bratwurst. The guys playing the alpenhorns capped off the atmosphere!

Dirty Dog Taphaus was awesome! You are able to pour your own beer and the taps know how much you pour so your able to taste test multiple beers! The taps change regularly but have a good selection of New Glarus brewing beers and other local brews!

My husband had cheese curds and chicken bacon ranch wrap with fries. The wrap was generous and chicken was tender and fried. I had the chicken salad sandwich with fries. I have not had a chicken salad sandwich in a very long time and was not disappointed. The chicken was chunky, complimented with sweet cranberries and served on wheat toast. The coziness, friendliness and food options gave off a small town feel. If in the area a good option for food.

Super friendly service serving food that tastes great! Started with the Frickles...crispy breaded pickle chips served with ranch...not greasy and cooked just right. I had a cup of their New Glarus chili which is made fresh daily with New Glarus beer loaded with beef, tomatoes, beans and spices. Topped with sour cream and local cheddar cheese. I skipped the diced onions. It was so good I wish I ordered a bowl! My wife had their homemade chicken salad sandwich on a gluten free bun (1.00 extra). The chicken salad had dried cranberries and pecans which made it super delicious. For a side she had their homemade bean salad. A great place to stop to try local beers and homemade food while enjoying the small town of New Glarus!

It has a lot more room than expected with enough space for live music. As for the drinks and food they're good stuff also. The prices can be high but it's not crazy for the atmosphere and quality. Basically this is one of the first places one encounters when entering town from the east. It's located in the Irish Cottage Inn & Suites. The hotel itself is very nice and has lots of amenities of its own if wanting to stay there. As for the restaurant itself it's one of the highlights. It's about $8 for an Irish coffee, which is a classic in the morning, evening, or whenever. Amazingly they have non dairy options including Bailey's Dairy Free Toffee Cream. It's about $18 or more for an entree which is a lot. We were able to find a few plant based options. I got the Roasted Squash Bowl. This has broccolini, farro, heirloom tomato relish, pickled red cabbage, and white beech mushrooms. An earthy flavor. She had the Vegan Shepherd's Pie. An alternative made with faux beef and mushroom gravy There's also plenty of meaty options like beef medallions. For sure it's one of the nicer restaurants around here. It's closed Mondays. They amazingly have a few things for vegans and vegetarians.
