Great eats and great diner vibes here. This place tasted and felt like home unlike so many spots you might hit on a trip to a national park. The thing about Glacier is that nearly all surrounding businesses are owned by a company called Pursuit which brings in about 75% young international workers who can't drive on their J-1 visas. Because they can't drive, they're captive to the area they live in, oftentimes in very poor living conditions. Because of this, they act somewhat like zombies who are homesick and incapable of providing a home-like atmosphere. Places like Glacier's Edge stand out because they're locally owned--and the quality is so much better for it. Bathrooms were also clean. read more

I enjoyed this little cafe in Babb Montana Two hard working men was all i saw. The food was great the place was packed to the point that they would put a sign on the door telling want to eats that the place was at capacity and no more were allowed in. I had the Babb breakfast, 2eggs, toast, hash browns, with 2 sausage patties. They grind thier own sausage. The only thing I faulted was (and this is just me) the patties were a little dry. They were good , just dry for me. I would give more but only have 5 stars to give. Well done to the 2 gentlemen . read more

Perfect spot on the west side of the park in Babb. Went here twice for breakfast. Between the four of us we had multiple omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, etc. Sat in cozy booths. Coffee was good. Service was good. It's a non fussy, solid food diner. read more

This little gem is in the middle of nowhere a nostalgic road diner fun decor very inviting. As soon you walk in you are greeted with a warm welcome and a smile. They are very proficient with their small staff. I had a Rueben my wife had a club sandwich they were large made with fresh ingredients. PS. there is a single unmanned gas pump must use credit card just south of the diner can come in handy. read more

My friends and I were traveling and I desperately needed to use the bathroom. With the strength of 100 men, I took a massive duke in the pristine and cozy restroom. The soft toilet paper they had soothed my wounds and enabled me to continue pursuing my lengthy journey home. The woman there was very kind and let all of us use the bathroom. The service first, if you find yourself driving to Many Glacier or Lake Mary, stop at the Cafe. The staff is fabulous. The food is even better. We drove out of the park to eat there. The Veggie Hash browns are amazing. Hubby had the buttermilk pancake it was delicious. Treat your self to a later snack and ask for zucchini bread. The restaurant has a 50's look dinner to it, but look around the walls and check out the pictures of the town, restaurant and the store across the street. Thank you! read more

Loved this place! Glacier's Edge Cafe was right up my alley.....exactly what I was looking for on my way towards crossing the US - Canada border and onto Waterton National Park. I was actually looking for a quaint and quiet little breakfast spot before starting my day, and actually, randomly stumbled upon this place. And I was quite happy I did. The moment I saw this restaurant from the side of the road....I knew what this place was all about. Glacier's Edge Cafe is the ultimate diner/ "mom and pop" stop for a comforting homemade meal. It's located abut 10 miles north of the St. Mary eastern entrance of Glacier National Park. And, situated immediately off Highway 89 headed north....it can't be missed. I arrived here about 7am. I stepped inside, took my own seat at a booth by the window. There was 1 waitress attending the whole restaurant with 1 gentleman behind the scenes cooking the food. It was real easy to recognize, this place oozed simplicity. There's plenty of countertop space for those who'd like to sit up front. For me....I was in no rush while sitting down at a table. I must say...something about this place....just gazing out the window onto the road....I was quite refreshingly rejuvenated while eating here and knowing I was continuing my journey into Canada and Waterton....I felt quite humbled within my travels here at Glacier and beyond. It was quite a reflective moment for me, lol. The menu was easy. A handful of items to choose from. I picked The Western Omelette which came with hashbrowns and toast for $11.95. Btw, the omelette consisted of onions, green peppers, ham and cheddar. In all, there were 6 omelette styles to choose from. They also offered the usual stuff like biscuits and gravy, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches....etc. Breakfast is served until 11am. In all, my service was quick and efficient. My omelette tasted just fine....hash browns were good....I had no complaints, lol. For me, most importantly was the atmosphere here at Glacier's Edge Cafe. The setting was so typical of your classic blue collar diner. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my day! For anyone out there who'll happen to be heading to Waterton National Park and needs a breakfast place to get their day started, I absolutely recommend Glacier's Edge Cafe. It's real simple home cooked food and ideally located off the road in Babb, Montana.....10 miles north of St. Mary and 10 miles south of the US - Canada border. read more

Our server was very attentive and kind. My husband's BLT salad was huge and looked great. He enjoyed it. I had the Mad Max burrito and it was tasty, but very messy. They really needed to drain the green chiles; the juice dripped out from the first bite. By the middle of the burrito, the bottom fell out and the contents were in my hand and on my plate. The salsa was tasty, as were the burrito fillings. My daughter loved her burger, and I appreciated that they were able to give her a side of tomatoes so she got some veggies. My son liked his chicken fingers and coleslaw, but found the BBQ sauce unpalatable (he's never done that before!). This cute little establishment was quite the relief and refreshing experience of a quaint little rural town café should be, rather than we experienced the day before (See my review of Johnson's at St. Mary's). Immediately upon entering the diner we were warmly greeted by the staff and sat down immediate. The server was friendly and personable. The food was comforting as to what you would expect diner food to be, not disappointing at all, and definitely worth the price you paid for it. We left satisfied and happy. I would definitely recommend the huckleberry shake if you go there. Delicious! Friendly employees, good food, and we left with a wonderful memory. Definitely would eat there again! We spent the night in Cardston on our way to Whitefish this past summer and decided to make a stop for breakfast once we crossed in to the US. Our stop at Glacier's Edge Cafe was a bit random, but we're glad we stopped. A very run of the mill looking roadside diner , we sat at the counter and had an awesome breakfast that was the perfect start to our day. Service was friendly, coffee was good, and food was served fast, hot and tasty. I had the Cattle Grazer Burrito (eggs, marinated steak, green chilies and peppers) and was impressed. What a great find!! We did breakfast one stop and lunch another. Between the 4 of us we had omelettes, fried hashbrown scramble adding an egg and burritos. Good size portions for the price & location. Great flavor!! For the lunch stop we had huge salads, southwestern chicken and chicken bacon ranch salad and a club sandwich. We stopped here for lunch when we were driving between St Mary's and Many Glacier. We chose it based on the Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Although we arrived just at lunchtime, there were two tables available and the friendly waitress invited us to choose one. The price points are pretty fair, given what it takes to run a restaurant (successfully) in a less populated area. The service was quick and accurate and the food was good. read more

I really don't get the "hidden gem" thing about this place. Thronsons across the street is a hidden gem, but this diner left a lot to be desired, despite the dearth of places to eat on the East side of GNP. The service was downright hateful and rude and left a nastier taste in our mouths than the cardboard-textured/tasting cold hash browns . The eggs were so inconsistent--either overcooked or undercooked. The bacon was decent, as was the coffee. Our server seemed annoyed at the world, so we tried to not be too demanding, but she didn't even give us napkins or utensils without having to flag her down. The only time she checked on us was when she dropped the check, and when we told her about the food she told us that salt and pepper were on the table (huh?). I get that folks around GNP get sick of annoying tourists, esp in August, do something else if you don't like interacting with people! That, or treat people kindly and you may end up creating a terrific experience for yourself and your guests in the process. read more

We stopped at Glacier's Edge after hiking the Grinnell trail and we're not disappointed. Sarah, Ron and Griddie all work hard and put out quality food. Lunch was great, good selection of wraps and sandwiches. Definitely worth the stop and they do a good job of COVID distancing and cleaning. read more
